That's exactly what I was thinking. I just woke up so I had to make sure I was reading the right thread. That's definitely a new record though.
I think it still belongs to Beowulf, actually. I believe it dropped to $20 during the week of release.
What to do???
At first I really wanted this game, than decided to pass because of all the bad reviews, but now I'm tempted because of the low price.
The game is decent. It's mediocre in every aspect, and the fundamentals aren't broken by any means. The gravity mechanics work surprisingly well, destructible environments and presentation were nice since I entered with low expectations (and everyone who didn't like it saying it's awful), and there are very few portions that felt "cheap" as every boss and fight has a successful strategy clearly intended by the developers.
That being said, if you can rent it, it's not really a long game (typical 6-8 hours, even on hard) so either do that or just ignore it. The cutscenes are skippable, but so is the game. It reminds me of Timeshift, where the gimmick was overpowered and fun to mess with, while also being essential to progression. Makes sense since this was developed by the same people.
