BestBuy Deal of the day 6/16- Inversion $19.99 xbox & ps3

I really liked how this game looked. Might have to bite... but part of me just KNOWS it will be $10 at some point. Decisions.

What to do???

At first I really wanted this game, than decided to pass because of all the bad reviews, but now I'm tempted because of the low price.

this game aint even worth 5 bucks guys, i rented the game and i felt robbed! is that bad, just doing a community service here, that said, if you feel the urge to experience how terrible it is, go ahead

If you dont want to wait it is already $20.12 from a seller on Amazon...

...$120 to ship though. If youre one of those people who let shipping cost kill a deal for you :p

After watching a few reviews it seems to be a generic gears that doesn't execute its gravity play well. The gameplay to me looked solid to me but this screams cheap gamefly deal in the very near future.

This looks like a bad attempt at a game that is 3 parts Gears of War and 1 part Infamous. I'll pass for now, but if I ever catch this at $5 in a bargain bin I'll check it out.
If you like Gears of War, really bad writing and even worse voice work, this could be the game for you.

That's me paraphrasing Gamespot.com's review.
Well, I loved Gears of War and don't care all that much about writing and voice work. So yeah. looks like I'm in for 1. Thanks!

Didn't even know this game existed before this thread

I was pretty bummed out by this game when I played it at E3 last year. The silliest part was that during the multiplayer demo, I went up against a bunch of guys that were huge into Gears of War and still managed to sneak a first place victory thanks to those gravity powers. Pretty sure they're still overpowered against conventional weaponry.

Oh, and you can't go wrong with a game that has its own hot sauce.

Looks like I might have made a mistake...sorry
When it was in development I swear to god they say they would have split screen, I just did some diggin around, but it seems that is not the case? Co-optimus has it listed for split screen support but not local co-op? wtf?

EDIT: IGN says it has split screen: http://m.ign.com/articles/2011/07/08/inversion-takes-shooters-off-the-wall-and-onto-ceiling
but people can't seem to find the split screen option...http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/977455-inversion/63014652
EDIT 2: No split screen as reviewed by amazon customers, people are saying it is false advertisement.

No buy for me then.

i dont know why best buy would do this to a brand new game, no matter how bad it is

i know $15 is my sweet spot, but i may pick it up for a run through

Ah, no worries. I did a google search on my own as well. Co-optimus says it doesnt, and I found that same gamefaqs thread. Oh well, I guess I can hold out until later.

Whoever they ended up hiring over there at BB HQ is actually someone who seems like they know their s***. Recently, more and more, I see either crappy and/or low-budge/lesser-known games dropping in price really quick.

It's smart because if they wait too long for a meh game like this to drop, 2 yrs down the road when it does, no one will care or notice. Now, just because it's a new release, many people will buy. And BreakingCustoms...not all games are automatically $60 - they have budgets. And looking at this game, it operated on like $1000. If they sold all their copies at $20, they'll probably be fine if their expenses are small. It's about profit, not sales numbers. Know yo shiz!

But I warn you - this game is absolutely terrible. It's just...not even bad...it's broken. I'd rather spend $20 on a PSN/XBLA game
WTF, didn't this just come out like a week ago? Damn, the price is tempting but ... wow.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I just woke up so I had to make sure I was reading the right thread. That's definitely a new record though.

I think it still belongs to Beowulf, actually. I believe it dropped to $20 during the week of release.

The game is decent. It's mediocre in every aspect, and the fundamentals aren't broken by any means. The gravity mechanics work surprisingly well, destructible environments and presentation were nice since I entered with low expectations (and everyone who didn't like it saying it's awful), and there are very few portions that felt "cheap" as every boss and fight has a successful strategy clearly intended by the developers.

That being said, if you can rent it, it's not really a long game (typical 6-8 hours, even on hard) so either do that or just ignore it. The cutscenes are skippable, but so is the game. It reminds me of Timeshift, where the gimmick was overpowered and fun to mess with, while also being essential to progression. Makes sense since this was developed by the same people.

I'm in for $20, I really like the box art and since its going into the ever growing backlog I'm sure that's all I'm ever going to see.

You just saved me $20 of my hard earned BB credit. Thanks. BTW, your signature was my favorite part of all the E3 press conferences this year.
Dat shit cray :whistle2:o
Oh man, Kanye is a CAG and his name is ProAnon. Dude, I'm your biggest fan.

...so... what does Kim's gluteus maximus feel like and do you have to wear earplugs to tolerate her? :)

FYI, this trades in to Gamestop for $18 base, so it could be a good filler for the Trade 3/5/7 -> Get $10/$20/$35 promotion. I know that's what I'm doing. ;)

Lol, that ending statement is classic. Who wouldn't want to be in his spot? ;)

I bought both re raccoon city and silent hill downpour during the sale and enjoyed both in spite of the reviews. But inversion is probably actual crap as opposed lame game "journalists" critiquing ok games as crap. Unless any cags here played and liked it, I'll pass.

I tried to find any sales data or article for this game it is just not there. If it was supposed to be included in the week ending June 9th data it was left out or else sold less the top 100 games that week which would be around less than 1000 sold for a platform.
