All of you people who say "oh it's $40" are wrong. Prime is $80. Don't make the mistake of assuming everyone is a student.

another nail in amazons coffin imo. Ive already been buying games elsewhere for the most part. This pretty much makes it a forgone conclusion that I wont be shopping there anymore for games.

The biggest retailer in the world is so far away from a coffin its not funny.

Even so, that's about $7 a month.

If you are a casual instant-video Netflix user then you are killing two birds with one stone.

If you eat out once a week that's one more day of eating at home.

Nope. I subscribe to Hulu literally for just the Criterion channel. That alone is worth more than Amazon prime.

Netflix? Why in the world would I use Netflix when I have my... uh... eyepatch and peg leg?

Everyone who thinks this is the end of Amazon must be nuts. As long as their customer service and prices remain competitive with other retailers (plus the convenience of online shopping) then they won't be "ending" anytime soon.

If you have the eye patch and peg leg you should be able to figure out how to get a .edu email for discounted prime.

I keep Hulu for WWE stuff, pretty much the polar opposite of Criterion.

Guess I'll be shopping at Best Buy this holiday. Sucks for Amazon.

They've done a lot of shady stuff this year, like those products that are less than $10 that I can't get shipped even with Prime unless I add something else.

Since I have to pay tax there now I don't shop at Amazon as much any more.

Those bullshit items?

Easy workaround:

Add bullshit we wont ship with prime for free item to your cart.

Add a pre order game to your cart.

Checkout with both, will only pay for the one item as the pre order only pays for when shipped but will still trigger high enough "total" to go ahead and ship the not prime eligible item with 2 day shipping.

go back and cancel the pre order after you get shipping confirmation.

Profit.

Seriously,  Fuck you, Sega.

I still order a good bit from Amazon that has nothing to do with FSSS.  Headphones for example.

However, my FSSS list is actually quite small now so this makes it much harder.  My next $35 order will probably be the next Funimation sale.  :(

There isn't a reason at all why Amazon bumped up the price. They are the world's #1 online distribution service, and make billions of dollars.

But those saying that this is the nail in Amazon's coffin are delirious.

Pretty much this.  I love getting deals from Amazon, but to fill my cart up to $35 minimum?  I don't think I'll be shopping there as much, unless I get credit.

They may gross billions of dollars, but they haven't reported much in the way of profit in the past few years.

Yes there is; to increase profit margins on items that are already razor thin.

Regardless if it is called FSSS it's not free for Amazon. They have to make up the shipping costs somewhere. I've received many items from them that literally must have cost more to ship to me then I paid---even with logistically sound shipping hubs.

Gross. Net. What's the difference?

I'm 100% shocked that books still exist in today's day and age. I thought they'd be out by now. They make up like 1% of today's entertainment and unless you're 60 or older, stray away from books and start emersing yourself with real entertainment.

Bezos has to make enough profits to keep the Washington Post afloat somehow.  I've noticed lately that a lot of the prices tend to have the shipping cost built into them already anyway.   Between that and sales tax it really isn't the deal it used to be, hopefully this will encourage some competitors to fill the vacuum.

Workaround is to order those items with a preorder, then cancel the preorder.  Obviously don't abuse it.
