So I've been thinking about my draft strategy.  I'm picking 7th out of 12, and we do mostly standard scoring with 0.5 PPR.  I figure the first 6 picks are likely to be, in some order, Charles, McCoy, Peterson, Forte, Lacy, and either Megatron or Lynch.  I'd love for Lacy to fall to me at 7, but I don't see it happening.  My first round pick, depending on who is still there, is likely to be either Lacy, Megatron, or Demaryius Thomas.

I've been wondering what my team would look like if I went with Jimmy Graham in the 1st round.  I feel like 7th overall is juuuust a bit early for him, but he won't be there for my 2nd pick.  I just did a 12 team mock where I picked 7th and took Graham.  This is what my team ended up looking like, with picks in the order I took them.  Would you be happy with this team?

Graham TE

Bernard RB

VJax WR

White WR

MJD RB

Brady QB

Cooks WR

Sproles RB

Woodhead RB

Roethlisberger QB

Patriots DST

Wheaton WR

Jones WR

Crosby K

Clay TE

No way Brady will still be there in R6 at my real draft (too many Patriots fans), but otherwise the mock seemed to go realistically.

You took Lynch at #4. WOW - That is a reach. Either you are a Homer or you don't know FF very well.

yeah, thats a bit of a reach.  I took Lynch 4th in a draft last night but it was a keeper league so most of the studs were already gone...

How's this a reach? The only other options were Lacy, Forte or some other position. I thought hard about Lacy but this being only his second year stopped me. Forte, for some reason I've just never really liked. So who did you think I should have drafted? Peterson, McCoy and Charles were the first three picks.

Well sites vary, but Lynch's ADP is around 20 overall and 10th best RB. But if you just have a gut feeling about him and definitely want a RB, it's not crazy.

Personally I take Calvin Johnson there if the other choice is Lynch and I like Lacy but again, sometimes your vibes lead you one way.

I have the 5th pick in my draft and would be thrilled if Forte was left.  If Forte, Charles, McCoy and AP are gone I'm going with Johnson.

Wow, this really surprised me.  After I read this, I went and checked the site we use for our league (CBS) and sure enough, the 2 guys who compile their player rankings have him 10th and 12th for RBs, and it looks like his ADP in CBS drafts is 15.  Myself, I'd put him at 6 as far as RBs go, behind McCoy, Peterson, Charles, Forte, and Lacy.  I get the concern over the wear and tear from all the touches last year, but an ADP around 20 seems incredible to me.  If he was still around when I made my 2nd round pick (19th overall), I'd grab him without a second thought.

I can buy all the reasons behind lynchs slide from last years rankings until I see arian foster ranked ahead of him.

I picked up Jamaal Charles with my #4 in a ppr league which I am stoked about. Rodgers round 2 cause I'm a homer. A friend of mine grabbed russel Wilson #3 right ahead of me which was a dumb move by them. I have a cag league draft to run tonight

There's many reasons to not jump on lynch, but he's still a stud, and they'll still run him into the ground this year. Pretty sure his contract is up after this year and they'll want to get a lot out of him.

My draft is today guys. I find out my pick 1 hour before the draft starts. It seems to be pretty split on who's number 1. So i ask you guys, Peterson, McCoy or Charles?

well hopefully the first guy makes the choice for you. im a huge peterson fan, I think hes one of the best rbs ive evr seen and find it awesome just to watch him. mccoy is amazing, reminds me of the awe I got watching barry sanders.

i sorta like mccoys playoff schedule a bit better, dallas at home and at washington in wk16. id expect those to be fairly high scoring.

Went with Peterson. First guy took Charles so he didn't help me at all.

yeah, mccoy is a way better pick, you botched that hard...

Ha ha, I don't think too many people will be getting their balls busted for taking AP with one of the first few picks.

BxJoka, by any chance do you remember what number pick Eddie Lacy was?  Or Megatron?  Or Jimmy Graham?  I'm hoping either Lacy or Megatron is still there when I pick 7th at my draft, but I'm also kicking around the idea of going with Graham if they're not.

Lacy went 5. Megatron went 8. Graham went 9.

Cool, thanks.  I'm looking forward to seeing how our first round goes, because the guy at #2 sometimes makes bizarre unexpected picks (one year he had 3 QB's before he took his first RB) but he somehow always ends up with a good team, and the guy at #4 is our league's perennial cellar-dweller, and he told me he's not going RB with his first pick because he always does that and his team always sucks.  That's what makes me think it's possible Lacy could still be there for me.

Here's my team.  Standard scoring, non PPR, 10 team league.

QB Tony Romo

RB Le'Veon Bell

RB Adrian Peterson

WR AJ Green

WR Vincent Jackson

TE Vernon Davis

FLEX Pierre Garcon

D Bengals

K Graham Gano

Bench

RB Rashad Jennings

RB DeAngelo Williams

K Matt Prater

I kind of floundered on the Romo pick and took him over Cam, Foles, Kaepernick and Wilson.  My league (CBS Sports) awards an extra 2 points for every 20 yards over 20 per passing and rushing TD so I figured Romo would have the best chance at getting me those extra points as I don't expect Foles to have the same kind of year again.

This is only my second year doing fantasy football (and second year even seriously watching football) and this league is a lot more expensive than the league I was in last year so I'm hoping I can do pretty well.  What do you all think about my team?

Its definitely a possibility. Let me know who you end up with.

I think your starting lineup looks solid.  I don't think Romo is a terrible choice within that group of QB's.  I think I'd take Cam over him, and flip a coin with Foles, but I'd take Romo over either Kaepernick or Wilson.  Small roster, though.  Does the league only draft 3 guys for the bench?  I wouldn't have bothered with a 2nd kicker, I would have looked for a 2nd QB or another WR maybe.

Yeah, only 3 bench spots which is weird as hell to me.  After drafting Williams I regretted it, but I'll pick someone up after a couple weeks to see who's injured or hot.  I actually drafted Prater first then took Gano to fill in for 4 weeks.  I really wanted Kelvin Benjamin as a bench player but someone took him as their FLEX, which surprised the hell out of me since Garcon was up at the time.  Thanks for taking a look at my team.

My team in a 12-team 1/2 point PPR league:

QB Brady

WR Fitzgerald

WR Crabtree

RB Forte

RB Martin

TE Gronkowski

Flex Kendall Wright

K -- None --

DEF Steelers

Bench:

RB Tate

WR Bowe

RB Pierre Thomas

RB Fred Jackson

WR Hartline

RB Bradshaw

WR Cody Latimer

Need to drop someone to pick up a kicker - I'm thinking it'll be Bradshaw even though I see him winning the job over Richardson eventually.  Also keeping an eye on some other higher upside guys at WR (Dobson) or TE (Kelce) in case the Latimer hype doesn't come true.

Welker being injured helps Latimer, but there is a chance he may not start and will only play in 4 WR sets.
