How did you get a hold of them, their chat line is at 99+ people in front of me and it has not changed for 30 minutes.

I tried the live chat and was the same thing for me so I did the call back and they got back to me under 20 min.

I waited. Was like an hour. And again, I'm not actually sure if they fixed it or not. The re-link i did may have fixed it and it was just a lag to carry over the EA Play subscription

The large wait makes me wonder if it's all because of Game Pass for PC, or if EA just constantly has a large wait line for customer service

Hey morans, looking for tech recommendations. Looking for cheap bluetooth headphones, with the one caveat being the earcups have to be large, like comically large. I've purchased multiple pairs of true wireless/in ear earbuds to discover my ears are sensitive and can't use them for extended periods. I'm not saying I have Dumbo ears, but they are large. My current headphones are Skullcandy hesh 2's and even those get uncomfortable after a while. Anyways, any help is appreciated.

I use Aftershockz for mine... I like the bone conductive as it lets me hear other things.  Might not be your cup of tea but that's how I found MY solution for the ear issue.

I ended up playing 20 minutes of Squadrons instead of just 5, but I still reached the same inevitable conclusion: uninstallation. Notably, you can not uninstall games from directly within the EA Desktop app. You have to go into Windows apps settings and manually delete them there, which is a great feature. Keep up the good work, EA. As for the game itself, Squadrons didn't seem awful. It looked nice and played well but after 20 minutes I was simply bored, and every time I finished part of a mission and my commander game me a new objective I felt incredibly annoyed and put out. I think Everspace is a more fun space shooter, and I just can't get myself to care about half-bakes Star Wars side stories anymore. I almost paid $25 for this game at one point and I'm sure glad I did not.

Also, I currently have Crysis 3, Battlefield V, Fallen Order, and Titanfall 2 installed on Origin. For whatever reason, EA Desktop only recognizes Titanfall 2. There are also lots of games in my Origin library that are not available on EA Desktop at all. All good stuff, EA.

Now, on to Madden!

Crysis 3.

Since Crysis 3 was mentioned, EA issued a patch to remove Securom finally:

Deshaun Watson made me feel uncomfortable when I flew to visit him in Houston.

Be careful using EA Play on your first time sign in. It seems my xbox account was linked to an EA account i made over a decade ago and im struggling to get access to EA Play on my current EA account

Edit: I got it re-linked to my current EA account, but i dont know if there was a lag in bringing over EA Play when i changed account link, or if support did it (he was confused with the situation)
Just keep in mind if you have an EA Account already linked to Xbox, even from the 360 days, it'll assume automatically you want to use that

Be careful with EA support on this one. I had two Xbox accounts linked and EA Play kept trying to use the old one. So I contacted EA live chat and asked them to remove the old account. I mentioned that gamertag multiple times and after probably 20-30 minutes, she accidentally removed MY main account and all she had to say was "oops my bad". So I can no longer use my EA account on my Xbox and I lost any associated progress on any EA game on my Xbox and still can't login to EA Play with Game Pass now.

I've been playing Red Dead Redemption 2 (not online). It's really good.

Yeah, water is wet, right? But I noticed 41 of my Steam friends still have it in their wishlist. I know it hasn't been in a huge sale yet, but it's definitely fakeybro material.

First of all, it's beautiful. There's a cinematic mode and lots of photo options, so you know they were proud of how it looks. But it's also a beautifully crafted world. Bethesda should take note.

I'm only halfway through, but the story has some great moments and the characters are memorable. I find myself doing sidequests, not because they are wildly unpredictable and engaging, but because I like the fellow outlaws I hang with. Train robberies, house break-ins, stealing moonshine and then selling it back to (very indignant) people I stole it from. It's fun.

The open world lets you get lost for a while. Hunting, fishing, exploring. You can pretty much do what you like until you're ready to advance the story. The nice part is, though, that you don't feel like you have to grind. You can craft or buy many things. You get experience from just doing the things you're already doing.

If you've been on the fence about the game, and are the least bit interested in the American west,,, or just criminal activity, in general, consider it when the next sale rolls around.

Oh yes, and the random encounters (of which there are many) are really surprising and very entertaining.

RDR2 does have some great random encounters. Here were a few of mine:

That said, I did not particularly enjoy the game. I hated nearly all the characters and I didn't think anything about the gameplay was engaging or fun--essentially like every other Rockstar game in that respect. It was the ultimate slog and at best I may have had fun for about 5 of the 80 hours I spent seeing it through to the bitter end. I took so many extended breaks from the game it took me over 2 years to beat. But it was those random moments that kept me coming back. The atmosphere the game creates when riding into a new town at night with the fog rolling in and the glow of the lanterns and suddenly your horse takes a shit. It's like magic.

That's interesting, in that Rockstar games don't usually hold my interest very long. Maybe the atmosphere was enough to reel me in. I am a big fan of the American West though, so that may have some influence.

In particular, I found some of the setpieces to be really unique. Perhaps if I'd tried harder to like some of their other games I'd have found similar scenarios. To give some examples: going to a saloon with Lenny, getting smashed -- losing Lenny in my drunkenness -- and winding up in a big bar room brawl was something I can safely say that I've never done in a videogame. An old-fashioned train robbery. Hunting a cougar by lantern light in a dark cave in the mountains. And, like you said, the random encounters.

I get what you're saying, though, about their games. This one just worked for me.

I don't have RDR2.  I have the online one and I only got it because it glitched on Humble and was like .80 I think.  At first I didn't really get into it, but lately I've been getting into it and it's a ton of fun for the .80.  I'd even say the $5 discount price was a deal and even $20 isn't bad for what you get (though at that point you're better off buying the entire game when it goes on sale for $36ish).

Getting gold is a grind, but it's a huge open world with tons to do and you can just get caught up in all that without the need to advance the story (is there a story?  I wouldn't know since I've just been doing random stuff).  There's a group of ex-CAGs who plays it pretty much every day and it definitely is a lot more fun as a group.  Especially when I'm in there, because those bozos just like to play it safe and I spice things up by aggroing everyone I come across and adding an element of general chaos to things.

That's the weird thing about Rockstar games--they create these incredible worlds and I agree that the missions (on paper, at least) are unique and have you doing all sorts of crazy things. But the issue I always have with them is that the actual gameplay always feels like a chore to me. It's a combination of the controls, animations, and overall feel of how the player moves in the world that make the games feel more like work than fun. And that feeling just grows over time as the characters start to grate on my nerves. I have very similar feelings about Naughty Dog games. They're these state of the art interactive experiences that are overly long, self-indulgent, a bore to play, but I feel like I need to see them through to the end because the production values and art design are unmatched.

Last year, I was trawling AliExpress and came across a ridiculous looking CPU cooler.  The Aigo V5 ShadowMax, a tower of cooling fins with a corkscrew fan inside to suck air up into and through it.  And, of course, RGB.  I couldn't find any information about it which made it even more a "I need to own this" item.  So I bought it for $35 and waited four months while it did some dance between warehouses in China and ultimately never made it to me.  So I got a refund and ordered it again!  This time it arrived in a mere four weeks and it's a thing of beauty.

Spoiler

Guess what!  It doesn't suck!  I mean, it's not amazing but it kept my Xeon x3450 chip at 78C during Prime95 and 28C at idle.  For reference, I had a a Coolermaster Hyper TX3 on there beforehand and it had about the same temps.  So I wouldn't recommend buying one since you can get the same performance out of other $35 coolers you don't need to order from China but it's nice to know I can use this thing for the lulz and not gimp my computer by doing so.

Edit: Amusingly, the week this thing arrives at my house after a five month wait, it becomes available "in stock" on Amazon.  It did have a store page earlier but both it and Newegg said "Out of Stock" with zero reviews like it was a placeholder entry.

Makes me think of working retail and having a mother come in to buy her son a GTA game.  She asked about the game and I told her it had drug use and tons of violence and murder and she was like "as long as there's no sex". :/

Hookers for health regeneration?

This reminds me of seeing Watchmen (for the second time) in the theater and some mom brought in two very young kids (maybe 8-9 years old for the oldest and the other a few years younger.)

Anyhow, they made it through the brutal fight scene that starts the movie but were gone shortly after the lesbian kiss in the opening credits.
