Destiny 2 PS4, XBox One, PC $22.99 / $18.39 (GCU) at Best Buy

it's like buying a printer for cheap, but then they get you with the ink prices  (microtransactions)

I heard the latest expansion DLC was a complete turd, and there was a mass exodus after that

they must be scramblin' to keep people from jumping ship

This plus the expansion pass for 53.38 total seems like deal of year to me. While I agree with the poor reception of the end game, I also think you'll get so many hours of enjoyment out of it, especially if you're just coming into this franchise. I've put a lot of time into this game on Xbox and PC and plan on putting many more into it.

There's always a few games that go pretty cheap after release. At this point I think Activision is willing to sell this cheaply and hope to get people to buy the expansions.

I know a lot of people don't care about this game but there are many of us who still play daily. The environments are always full when I play on Xbox and PC so It's not dying anytime soon.

The game is not perfect by any means but I'd say it's worth the mid 22 buck price with the caveat that the expansions are required to stay current for long term players.

Think the PC version just has a code in it?
Yes. Physical PC copy just has a cardboard disc in the disc tray of the case with a code on it. Redeemable on the Blizzard PC client. Seems pointless, but I was thankful this existed so I could take advantage of the GCU discount when I bought it at release.

1 day only sale or will it last the weekend? looking around for deals on the expansions for pc before i pull the trigger. keep in mind that bungie are such scumbags they block off trials, nightfalls, etc with each dlc to fuck over the playerbase.

I am enjoying this game way more than the first one. On my tv this game looks amazing and I am not a graphics hound like that but for me it hammered home how good a game can look on a 4k tv.

This reminds me of the Star Wars Battlefront sale where the ultimate edition was on sale for $4.50. This almost looks like the death of DLC games.

Nice was waiting for this to dip below 20, didn't think it would happen within months

Ordered for store pickup for 3 bucks after RZ certs and gift cards

This fell a lot faster than I thought
lots of these premium games hellbent on dlc and microtransactions know that theyre basically a freemium game wherein their money comes after buying the vanilla copy. And after all the negative press $20 seems like a no brainer for Activision.

My new LG 4k has this default "Standard" mode that basically pre processes frames in a way that makes every single game appear to be unlocked/60 fps. However, for games that run at a locked 30 like Destiny, it comes at the cost of input lag. So for shooters and the like, I have to put it into game mode to get a 30fps an next to nothing 19 ms lag. Even then, it looks incredible with HDR and checkerboard "4k" rendering.

I bought the pro on sale recently and it came with Destiny 2 + all DLC. I wanted to sell it but no one wants it. Tried selling it online for the same price as the base game has been for sale and still no one wants it. I think at this point id have a hard time giving it away. I may as well give it to my son (10) and maybe he'll get something out of it.

This has been a great year for gaming for me. I’m loving Destiny 2 and Battlefront 2! And it’s entertaining watching all the haters!

They’re great games but EA and Activision are getting too greedy and the gaming community is fighting back.

That's crazy to see it already down this much. This sale is giving me Titanfall 2 vibes. I don't have the time or backlog space to tack on this title too. I'm wating on that Wolfenstein 2 black friday level sale

EDIT: just saw the pro...thought you meant pro edition of Destiny. My apologies

I don’t mind the fighting back against greedy companies, don’t buy the microtransactions. That’s a big thumbs up in my book. However, all of the horrible reviews and whining about the made up quality of the games just makes me laugh. I think we’re going about it the wrong way.

This is not surprising. The game is awful. Story is bland, content is mostly recycled from Destiny 1, PvP is boring and still not on par with with MM games (30fps, no dedicated servers, etc..

Game should have launched at $29.99 and worth no more than $9.99 at the moment.

Huh did not expect this to fall that fast. I played quite a bit of the first one but all the ruckus in the press has kept me away from 2. At this rate, I might as well wait until it is $10 or they release an updated version with the hollow DLC bundled it.

Bunnies reputation took a huge hit with this. Like with EA and battlefront activism and bungie tried to squeeze out as much out of the consumer as possible and it backfired

I don’t get this guys crying about not being able to earn every free item for a special event. Isn’t it like this for most games that have special unlocks? Aren’t most of these unlocks cosmetic?
It's just the latest in a long line of controversies and problems plaguing Destiny 2.

During most "Special Events" the diligent can earn most, if not all the bonus items. Destiny 2 however is account bound, and limited to a weekly cap unlike something like WoW or Overwatch, and etc.

It's specifically set up so that if you want to earn all the items... you'll need to open your wallet

Even if it is "Just Cosmetic" it still affects the game, since it affects yours and many other player's enjoyments and creates a player base of haves and have-nots.

The other controversies include secretly throttling your XP, while telling you you're still earning the full rate to try and get you to buy more Microtransactions.

Once the XP controversy was exposed, they took out the throttling.. only to secretly double the XP required to level and progress.

Selling DLC/MT items to increase the drop rate of rare and epic items, only to find out the item was broken/doesn't work... then saying they'll look into and fix the issue AFTER the Holidays.

Blocking old content behind a Expansion Pay-wall. The content you used to be able to play, along with a handful of achievements were gated behind a pay wall when the expansion was recently released (2months after the game), and the only to get access to this content/achievements was to buy the expansion... once again people kicked up a fuss and they are looking into fixing it (I am not sure if they have fixed it yet or not)

Every time they are caught, the community cause an uproar and Bungie releases an almost verbatum apology letter saying it's not what they planned to do, they're sorry, they'll fix it, won't happen again.. then another controversy crops up.

They charge you MMO prices (with the expansions) without giving you MMO features.

I am curious as to what you mean by MMO Features?
(This coming from a long, long time MMO player.... god I wasted to much of my life on MMOs)
Social features that are standard in MMO games such as lack of clan features (besides sharing rewards) - clan chat, text chat, and not knowing where your party members are on the map. Also not a big fan of being locked out of Trials, Raid/Strikes on heroic if you didn't buy an expansion. I know that they did this for Destiny 1, but MMOs usually don't do this. Expansions without any substance that are basically reused maps with bosses that look a lot like bosses from Destiny 1. I'm also aware that Bungie has said that Destiny is not a MMO, but by the way they are making these expansions available for purchase during pre-order and release date, they sure do charge it like one.

What do you want for it?

I had expiring Best Buy credits (expiring 12/30), so getting Destiny 2 for around tree fiddy is more than fine with me.

People are weird that way, as it seems to me if people CAN'T get every free item for a special event, it makes the special event items more rare and more special. Granted, this will rub the completionist type of gamer the wrong way.... which I expect also has a very high overlap with the poopsocker sort of player, which is a type of player Destiny 2 already ran into trouble with.

anyone else buy destiny 2 last month and having trouble w/ price adjustment? I bought it for 22.99 after GCU last month and now is 18.39. They said I have to go the store to do return/rebuy because they can't price adjust a GCU price. Annoying. I have Elite plus but price will probably change after xmas. Not wanting to go to the store for this.

Edit: got the price adjustment via chat.

So very true, they push the "Shared World" and "Social" aspect of the game, but never allow you to be social.
All you really can do is look like an ass and do emotes infront of everyone, with lack of communication.

I remember how much of a bitch it was getting raids together in the original Destiny. As for D2, rented it, played through the original released content.. took it back.

From what I’ve gathered is they put a level cap at 20 and removed stuff that was accessible before and people left in droves
