Don’t think they have much to worry about with original content. Four of its movies are nominated for best picture between drama and comedy at the Golden Globes.

I honestly only watch original content on Netflix.

Meanwhile, I’m regretting prepaying for Disney+ for three years. Not enough original content I’m interested in.

Ah, well, we must be in different phases of life. I take it you don't have kids? I feel like I've already gotten my money's worth for my 3 years of Disney+ lol

I do have kids but they’re older. Still like watching some Disney movies occasionally. And look forward to the Marvel shows next year.

Honestly not sure what I was expecting, lol. But worked out to like $3.33 or something a month with the D23 deal so it’s okay.

If anyone hasn’t tried it yet the D&D idle champions of the forgotten realms is really Fun

(Speaking of D&D if anyone is into a roll20 holla at your boy)

The one thing I don't like about the game is that once you get to the end of the level or chapter or whatever, all the power you've accumulated is just gone and you start over on the next level.  I'd like an endless run mode, unless that's something they've added in the last few months.

Some rumored specs for next year's Xboxen have surfaced, putting the low-end model (Lockhart) at 4 teraflops, and the high-end (Anaconda) at 12 teraflops.  A single teraflop spec doesn't tell the whole story, but for context, here's where these fall into the current console lineup:

Xbox One S: 1.4 TF

PS4 Slim: 1.8 TF

Lockhart: 4 TF

PS4 Pro: 4.2 TF

Xbox One X: 6 TF

Anaconda: 12 TF

Sounds pretty awesome if the low-end horsepower is near a PS4 Pro and the high-end is double the X1X.

Liked for Xboxen.

Yup, best game of the year. What’s yours? Wait let me guess... Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don’t Dry? Then you can fap to your adult game?

It’s okay if you don’t like Apex, I get it that it must be frustrating to get 20th place and let your team down every game.

It has nothing to do with enjoying a simpleton kid shooter, even though I dont have a clue in hell how you do. Its absurd to say that its a GOTY, even if a kiddie shooter is your favorite game, it does not mean it's the GOTY. It's like saying fortnite (which it probably was) was your GOTY last year. A game which you are paired up with 9 year olds, run around, die, and repeat. Theres not really anything there. Same with apex.

Dont get upset. Maybe if you have a kid one day you can play it with them and have the same amount of enjoyment lol

BTW : D4 Dark Dreams Dont Die was a very good game

My game of the year choice is easy, browsing GamePass for something to play. Yes I first started it last year but this year I have had even more fun playing this game with all the additions to the service.

Count me in the Control is great camp. Haven’t decided on my GOTY yet but it’ll be in my top 5 of 2019 for sure.

Apex is objectively a great game. The shooting is smooth, the TTK being longer gives it a more strategic approach to other shooters where you have a decent option to run and heal. The legends have varying abilities to add to the depth of the Rock Paper Scissors feel of what beats what. The new map added more variation to the distance of firefights. If you have been playing shooters since Counter Strike then you would see the movement and fluidity in Apex brings new things to the genre. People that have played shooters for a long time can at least appreciate what Apex brought to the table even if they prefer a short TTK like in CoD.

I know it might feel “cool” to hate on popular things but one day when your grown up you will realize that it’s okay for great things to be great. You don’t have to pretend to hate popular things to fit in.

D4 was fine, I got bored of it pretty quick. The gameplay loop was a bit slow and I think I had other things in my backlog I wanted to play more so I only put about an hour into it, but if that was your game of the year (a game that came out in 2014), more power to you.

Just because kids play a game doesn't mean it is explicitly a kids game. Even if something is a "kids game" that doesn't exclude it from being good. Would you really argue with someone saying that Super Mario Odyssey was one of the best games of the year in 2017 just because it's all ages? Overwatch for having stylized graphics? Hell, every shooter is filled with kids and has been at least since console online became popular. Not to mention Apex is F2P, pretty much every free game has a lot of kids.

I too have kids and they have launched the Disney+ app 1 time and that's when I put it on their Roku TVs.  They prefer the content on Netflix like Zig & Sharko, Inspector Gadget, Transformers etc.  Even me and my wife only launch it Friday night for the Mandalorian.  We watched Noel and Lady and the Tramp first weekend and that about does it for their original content.  The service sucks unless you like rewatching old content which I don't as there is more than enough stuff I haven't seen.  I'm cancelling after my free year is up (thanks Verizon) unless they step up their original content game.

On Disney+, we have been enjoying Mandalorian, Duck Tales, The World According to Jeff Goldblum, and Puppy Dog Pals. With it being half the price of Netflix I still see it as a decent value. We haven’t had cable for a long time so my kids are watching all the Disney cartoons they haven’t seen before.

Disney+ for me is roughly 75% stuff I've seen already so I knew ahead of time I'd only sub when I wanted to watch a show or a few movies they add we haven't seen yet. I think they just got people with the Mandalorian hype.

I will say this though: there are some harder to find old shorts/movies that are finally in one place without having to track them down on youtube or pirating. That's a nice bonus.

oh Redbox got rid of video game rentals.

Well, that gets rid of the only reason I ever used their service.

Might have to grab LEGO Avengers. Think that’s the cheapest it’s been.

I highly recommend almost all of the LEGO games, they are just mindlessly fun puzzle games with some combat and light platforming. And, the open worlds in the newer games are very fun to explore.

So, I have the Star Wars version of the Xbox One X, and for the first week of using it, it was whisper quiet, like a lot of the reviews say, but last night I was playing, and I noticed a slight grinding noise coming from inside of the console. Should I be concerned? Or, was that just the fan kicking into overdrive? It was the first time that I have heard the noise. There was no disc in the console, and I keep it on it's side (hotdog style) instead of flat down like a regular DVD player (hamburger style). Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but thought that I would mention that.

Disney+ isn’t great for me as I get enough nostalgia just browsing the older content than I do watching it, if I didn’t have all these other services releasing content so frequently I’m sure I’d watch it more.

My kids use it a lot though my 18 year old down to me 4 year old and my wife loves rewatching Pixar movies.

I do like Jeff Goldblums show and I got to rewatch Black Hole without having to plug one of my old hard drives up.

Definitely worth the 6.99 though but I bet that goes up around $10 once these marvel shows start releasing.

Someone was trying to cast to your Xbox. It's annoying.

Ah that’s interesting. Although was thinking of deleting it for awhile since I actually haven’t used the Xbox Netflix app since I got a smart tv.

Do you have multiple xboxes where you live that multiple people may use? I have 3 xboxes in the house and can't really cast using youtube because when selecting what to cast to they all show up as "xbox one" even though they're all 3 different versions. It's annoying.
