I Think more than any other Assassin's Creed (even Revelations), this one just dragged the most for me. Opening fast travel locations was just the worse. but yeah I just can't see myself putting another 30 or so hours that I put into beating this game again. That and the Desmond stuff, but at least that game ended that unnecessary side plot.

Still impressed that Ubisoft continues with the Animus stuff in these games because they really add nothing and really the least exciting part of all these games. I Kinda have a weird theory that Ubisoft continues with that stuff and makes it boring as can be so no one ever asks for a modern/futuristic Assassin's Creed game.

Maybe I'm just remembering what I liked about 3 and when I replay it one day I'll realize I was wrong. Don't remember the fast travel at all.

I think they got the picture that most people weren't fans of the modern day stuff with how little it is in the recent games compared to the previous games. I forget which game it was but the sequences that switched to first person were so frustrating. The one thing I did like about the modern day stuff is the Easter eggs of sorts you could find on computers like "here's people we've looked at in the past and some that we could eventually look into."

Revelations had the first person platforming segments, thankfully they were optional.

The fast travel unlocking segments in 3 were you had to go do wander around underground mazes and solve the puzzles to unlock a fast travel location. It was way more work and way more tedious than it needed to be to get.

Man, Shadow of the Tomb Raider must've bombed hard.

I liked it but not as much as the last two.

I feel really guilty about Tomb Raider.  I loved the first two, but waited on all of them to get cheap (like I do for most games) and now i'll probably never get another one.  The franchise doesn't seem to have had great sales numbers overall and I sure don't help it by being cheap and then not even getting the last one until it's free with Gamepass.  I hope I didn't kill Lara.

The game flopped to be sure, but the series has always had a troubled history. They rebooted the series with TR Legend, the next game TR Anniversary was a faithful remake of the first game but the worst selling in the series, and then Underworld, which wasn't received well.

The second reboot started with 2013's Tomb Raider where Lara is just a killing machine - she might as well be the Terminator. When her voice actor was asked about her role in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, she said she didn't like it and hoped that Lara would be a mother in the next game, lol. Really, though, the series has been surpassed by Uncharted and has been struggling since.

Character wise I wasn't into it but I enjoyed the setting and gameplay. Had to stop for a bit at one point for them to fix some bugs but not nearly as bad as in unity. I don't know if I'll play it immediately considering I've not touched any of the other free games that came with ubisoft season passes or any of the other Assassin's Creed remasters.

Conner was the worse characters in the whole series but it sure didn’t help that he was the first character after three games playing as Ezio. Achilles helped hold the narrative together. While it was disappointing, I was more disappointed with Unity.

It would have helped if they gave him some personality. All the opportunity was there but they dropped the ball. Having that what felt like a year long tutorial with Haytham didn't help either.

They made Watch Dogs

The gameplay is varied enough that I don't relate to them at all. Even if they have small nods to one another in sharing the same universe.

As someone with a 1tb data cap, having a 42gb beta for a game I don't plan on playing automatically download is pretty f$#¡%ing irritating.

I just started ...walking again last night due to the warm weather. And I realized just how horrible my New Balance sneakers were. Serious pain last night from just a few miles.

Went out and found a pair of Brooks on clearance this afternoon. Holy shit are these the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. Wouldn’t spend $150 on them but now I have no excuse to not get my ass of the couch.

Been through many many brands of shoes.. Ended up with Keen. Finally shoes that fit my feet and they don't hurt at the end of the day!

Once you find a shoe and insole combo that works.. don't change. How your feet feel is much more important than a brand/look.

Merrill is also one that fits pretty good for me, but they didn't last nearly as long as i'd hoped.

Last year i didn't spend as much time outside as i normally do, that changes for sure this year. (Just waiting for temps above freezing though)

Was just coming here to post that Shadow of the Tomb Raider is available for Game Pass owners, and saw it was already mentioned, so consider this a reminder then, I suppose.
Also, picked up one month of EA Access so I could play the Anthem demo early, and I just went through the campaign for Battlefront II - very meh. I’m not too into the gameplay style and so won’t be doing multiplayer really, but I wanted to see what they did with the story. The directing was terrible, some of the voice actors for the movie characters were rough, and certain scenes (like the last, “bonus” mission of the main campaign) were painful and didn’t have enough cover so it was a pain to get through. I guess I’m glad I did it but it’s hard to recommend unless you’re a super die-hard Star Wars fan.
Edit: In the interest of saying something positive, the X-Wing play was pretty awesome. Not greatest ever kinda stuff, but the dogfights made up for a lot of the ground combat in my eyes.

Didnt see it mentioned here (maybe I missed it?), but my favorite Xbox one controller is on sale: Xbox sport White controller for

$44.88 at Walmart for delivery
$43.45 at Walmart for in store pickup
$41.74 at Amazon for "very good" dingers

Edit: also the sport red controller is up for preorder at Microsoft store and GameStop for $70

The sport white was a YMMV deal at Target this past week. $27 or so I believe.

Edit: OOS now but I had one Target near me that had it at $20.

Thanks for the heads up about the Division 2 beta. I did watch Mixer and it was added automatically. Then I gave the code from my inbox to my bro. I guess both works, we’ll see.
