These links have been live since yesterday afternoon and they have said coming soon the whole time. Nothing has been made available yet.

I think there's a good chance they don't go live until the night before the release date.  That's what happened with the recent blue Switch Lite and both Best Buy and Gamestop had links up for a month or two that never went to preorder.

It's possible, but I do think this is a different set of circumstances and a different level of demand than a new color switch lite.

No according to Nintendo there will be pre-order information soon from local retailers. Whatever "soon" means is anyones guess at this point but I highly doubt that means October

GameStop now says "check back soon for pre-orders" in red font on the listing page. Amazon has a listing for the OLED model travel case now, but still nothing for the console itself

If I NEEDED a new switch, I’d be all over this. Would definitely get this over the regular switch. Not worth upgrading to, for me at least.

I already own four Switches (OG, V2, Lite, and AC) but I'll be buying this because it finally has an Ethernet port so Splatoon 2 won't be so laggy and the screen is going to be a big improvement. Thank you Nintendo. I just hope that I won't have to pay scalper prices if I don't get in on the pre-orders...

Not trying to rain on your parade but why don't you just buy an ethernet adapter? I use one and it's fine.

I bought the Amazon Basics Ethernet adapter off the warehouse deals for like $8. It works great. Nintendo did confirm that they will be selling just the dock from their online store, and it's compatible with the original models.

I can't imagine buying just the dock. I'm guessing they'll price it at $50 and if you can get $250 for your old switch, $100 out of pocket would get you the dock, oled screen,double the internal storage, and from a wear perspective a brand new battery and new joycons.

I have a uGreen $7 usb3 to gigabit adapter from Amazon. Works great on old dock

To agree with this and the others, I went this route as well for my son that complained of disconnects on Splatoon 2 over WiFi and it works wonders.  Pretty much eliminated the disconnects immediately.  Just has a little dongle hanging off the side, but make sure you get one with a long enough dongle cable to fit as you want it to.  They're cheap and effective.

 

Nice for Nintendo to finally include it, but not a really good reason to upgrade unless you use the Switch handheld a lot as well (which kind of eliminates the value of an ethernet port in the dock).
