GameStop.com Buy2get1 free on select NEW games

Wow, lots of great games here and Nintendo first party stuff is included (in addition to being on sale).

I should have waited on Nier Replicant, only $20 now and is eligible for B2G1 also...

Just wish there were more games in the 30 and 40 tiers to pair together. that's the one thing targets has over the others due the the cancel trick.

Isn't giving free shipping for some reason, despite being well over the $35 minimum.

Store pick-up or bust.

Ooh did not know nier replicant was 20 but I just don't know what to other games to pair with it in that price range. Either Xbox one, PS4 and/or switch.

Looking for inspiration to participate in this sale! No motivation to consume my stagnant trade balance!  :oldman:

(was hoping they would price match Age of Calamity at least)

I have done 2 orders so far, 9 games total, and everything has come factory sealed.  I feel like I just won the Gamestop lottery!

Does anyone know when this sale ends?  Saturday maybe?

Any recommendations for a few $50 games? Wanna get Mary Skelter F NS and was thinking about Wareware NS since but also not sure about that since, it seems like most Nintendo games aren't just disappearing these days and stick around for a while.

Lucky you, my first order came in yest and all 3 games were guts.

Did they come from a store? I made 2 orders, 1 appears to be coming from a warehouse so hopefully that means sealed. 2nd I did store pickup and all were sealed.

Didn't even consider this was online only, drove across town, was told it was online only, told them I drove across town. On the bright side I was right next to Best Buy so I could run in and pick up Skyward Sword without having to eat that $4 shipping charge. Unfortunately they were sold out. Thankfully that Best Buy was next to a Target who had it and graciously price matched. Thanks, Target!

First order did, store in KY. I also got my 2nd order from Gamestop Returns in Gravevine TX, which I think is their headquarters? 2 sealed (2x HS Friends of Mineral Town NS) and 1 gutted/sticker sealed (Judgment PS5) with a huge rip on the cover. I must have pissed off some GS gods....

Box arrived today and one game came gutted with stickers on it saying new. If I replace/return this through the return label narvar site do they mess with the discount on the order, or does it pro-rate correctly if it is listed as the "free" game of the three? If it was any other store I wouldn't need to question how this works but their website services have not been very reliable for me lately.

Hard for me to find two games around the $30 range to pair with Skyword Sword as I own most of them already.

Went with:

Skyward Sword (switch)
Neptunia Allstars (ps4)
Poison Control (ps4)

I ordered Nier replicant, akibas trip 10th anniversary hellbound and debriefed, and Shin megami tensei iii. All for ps4, all arrived sealed today

Got 13 of my 15 games sealed.
Only two not sealed were older playstation indie type games.
Rule of thumb for me has been if it's a relatively new title from the past six months or so or a big tentpole release they printed a ton of, it comes sealed from a distro center. If it's a year or more old and indie or niche, it's coming fake sealed from a store.

Got my 2nd order.  They came from a district center in KY.  All sealed, truthfully surprised since they were niche titles: Grow Song of the Evertree, HOA, and cooking mama.  I only did 2 orders because I don’t like playing the roulette of ‘new’ games from GameStop.

Pretty shocking they pull that shit on their online store, what excuse do they have this time, the dude in the warehouse has to play it so he can chat you up about it and improve your experience somehow?

most online orders ship from stores not the warehouse

I ordered 12 games. 1 came yesterday sticker sealed from a store, 10 came today from a distribution center and the last one says it was shipped on Sunday but hasn't been picked up yet.

So far, 2 of 3 games that arrived came sticker sealed. It's fine with me as I place GS orders only when I'd be okay with that. It does still amaze me that they do this, but I play my games so it doesn't bother me. It's just an annoyance.

My last 3 games came in... 2 guts, 1 "sealed" (shrinkwrapped but completely ripped). This might be the worst GS run I've been on for new games. For the 9 games, I got 3 sealed (more like 2.5 sealed) and 6 guts. Most of the games were niche, sure but was surprised to get Judgment and Nier as guts- copies of those games seems ample.

Maybe they did this B2G1F sale to get rid of all their guts?

they only get rid of guts when its the last copy on hand, stores only have 1 of each gut.   neither of those titles are large stock copies, could easily be final on hand for a store.

So far my Kena ps4, (wrong version but told to keep it), Kena ps5, Atelier Sophie 2 and Monark ps5 were all sealed.
My 2nd shipment of 3 games arrives Thursday

Ordered 9 new games, got zero factory sealed. I didn’t even know that would be a possibility. It’s really irritating. I mean, I do want to play the games but I take a long time to get to them and typically like to leave them sealed until then. Now, what’s the point? Thanks GameStop.

which games are you guys getting that aren't sealed? It'd be funny to check in on how long they still offer them "new" on the site

From memory of the other posts

Ace attorney
Blue reflection 2
Caligula effect 2?

Were 3 that had a photo mentioned.

Here are the Switch games I ordered that came sealed:

Gris

Monster Crown

Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity

Skyward Sword HD

Games that were resealed:

The Great Ace Attorney

Ni No Kunu II: Prince's Edition

The sealed games all came from the warehouse in Texas and in-store pickup. Can't really complain when you already know to expect this from them. It's great that games that were already on sale also qualified for the B2G1.

My issue with this is I collect games more than I play.  I buy often based on eBay or Pricecharting prices.  If there is a game for $25 then the value might be $15 loose, $20 used, $30 sealed.  I'm buying a new game for $20 expecting to get a $30 value game, but instead I get a $20 used game.

Damn, what a rarity, they don't even offer that used on the site, they're all new and available to buy right now!

It's like they're doing you a favor!

Nier Replicant PS4

Rune Factory 4

Akiiba's Trip NS

Shadowverse NS

Judgment PS5 (1st copy, 2nd copy I ordered was 'sealed' but super ripped up)

Skyward Sword HD

Unfortunately, if you're collecting games and you HAVE to get it sealed, I think Gamestop has to be your retailer of last resort.

I only buy from GS based on it being a good deal, or if I just can't find the game at a reasonable price from other retailers.

As I said before, I don't care about it being sealed. As long as the game disc looks new, I'm okay with it. One time, GS sent me the disc in a box, without even the PS4 case. I just settled with it since I don't care enough to bother with their stores (which can't replace it since their inventory is terrible) or CSRs, which are just awful from my experience in handling returns and exchanges.

Don't buy from Gamestop then. Problem solved. The company isn't going to change, if anything it's going to get even worse.
