Conan O'Brien seems to be hosting the Emmy's next week. May be reason enough to check it out. I'd have checked out the Teen Choice awards for Dane Cook, but the thousands of screaming girls ruined it and I'd rather watch some Prison Break instead before the new season tomorrow.

I was big on baseball in my youth days until I realized the game is just completely boring. I mean, sitting in the outfield for 9 innings and you're not even guaranteed play? (And when you do it's for like 10 seconds) And then batting 3 or 4 times in a game?

I'd rather play tennis, where I'm actually being entertained the whole time.

Same here. The only real sports game I've played in the past couple of years is Top Spin.

I used to play little league when I was a kid. When I got older, I stoped caring. Kinda like how when you're a kid McDs is da bomb, but once you get older, you'll take the sit down restaurant with a burger that makes McDs look like shit on a bun...

Uh-oh, that's not cool. I would whole-heartedly agree with Will Ferrell and Jimmy Fallon, but I love Conan...or loved. I haven't seen his show in quite a long time, but he used to blow Letterman and Leno out of the water. I loved that show.

But the HumanSnatcher comment makes me think that I missed a decline in recent years. I hope you're all just crazy.

Two reasons IMO.

Old people don't pay for cable and fall asleep watching network tv. This is where the ratings come from.

2nd reason is that people are getting ready for bed, and/or in bed and want something simple to watch before bed. Something that they can turn off at anytime and not really miss anything.

Anyhow, sometimes Conan has some good bands. I know my partner was psyched as all hell when they had the New York Dolls on. He was the same way when the episode was re aired about a week later when they recycle over different showings later at night

Conan was awesome in his early years. Then Smigel got involved and a chunk of humor was lost from the show. Then NBC announced Conan would be taking over for Leno. So since then Conan has been trying to scale back his remaining humor so he can be the total bitchass the earlier timeslot needs. You can't go from Leno to early period funny Conan, you see. The audience would get too confused.

Tell me about it. My only fear with Conan taking over is that the cheesy and cheap ass skits or whatever you want to call them will spill over into The Tonight Show. Making it seem like a total cheese fest.

And to the other HDTV owners here: Is it me, or did you not see the total unattractiveness of Conan till you saw him in hi-def??? I mean the dude is married, kinda makes you wonder what she sees in him. I guess she keeps him around for the real sharp humor that his cousin Dennis Leary dishes out lol
