F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, generally like new items.

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes, All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken

I'm waiting for a 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and almost in perfect condition. Any game i have personally ever bought has in like new condition. However, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

So my little sister just dropped the bomb that she wants to start gaming. Great. Now I get to spend all my time on AWD trying to pick up cheap second copies of all this past generation's must-play games for whatever console she decides to get.
I thought I could quit you, AWD...
6 weeks until Black Friday hold off and go nuts then

Id get her started on classics like NES, SNES, etc and work up to currrent gen stuff imo.
You know, people always say that but I disagree entirely. She's nineteen. She doesn't have any amount of nostalgia for those old consoles. I do and even I get bored with a lot of those older games and consoles. They are fun, yeah. But when you've seen what's available now it's just hard to get excited about the older stuff when you're just starting out. If someone says, "Hey, go play Super Mario Bros. 3" before they lend me their copy of Bioshock Infinite I'm just going to say fuck that.

I think she'll have decided what console she's going to get by then so the next step is to see what BF has available. Due to sorority stuff she doesn't have the money to buy anything right now so she's going to take the month to look at the games on the 360 and PS3, decide which she wants, and look at what she wants to play. So we'll hopefully have a good plan for her to go out on BF.

My 2 LN Soulsilver came today and 1 of them seems to be brand new. The Pokewalker still has the tab that you remove before use and everything else feels brand new. Does anyone know if the box was originally sealed in plastic? The 2nd copy did not have a box or Pokewalker.
The box was not sealed at all. No plastic, no circle sticker thing, no nothing.

guess i will be cutting back on awd deals seeing starting nov 1st i will be getting taxed on amazon thanks to them breaking ground on a shipping building in my state. only good part about that is i should get my stuff in like a day for free even with two day shipping

Its pretty sad when gamers don't know how to appreciate the past. Its not about nostalgia, its about them still being damn good games to this day. Having them go right to this gen will have them likely miss out on all the game games from NES - PS2 era which would really be a shame. Don't even have to pay anything to play all those awesome classics.

so true. this day and age people freak out when a game don't have online play or if the online play sucks and single player is amazing they still say the game is garbage. don't even get me started on people bashing a game because it don't look sexy. till this day the best games in my life are from the late 80's and 90's

great example has been this past week or so with gta v online issues. Who cares if the single player game was amazing seeing the online had issues for a week or so the game sucks and worst game ever. :bomb: spoiled gamers these days with all the online play.

I would recommend picking up a PS3 and 1 year of PS+. IMO it's the best way to get started. Great selection of games. You don't have to shell out a lot of money and if she decides it is not for her. You can always unload the PS3.

As much as I love going back to NES games... they really can be frustratingly horrible compared to today's standard. SMB3 is probably a bad example to slap in there though.

I disagree, developers are lazier back in the day there was no patching. A game either worked or didnt so therw was more on the line. I hate that they put out unfinished games.

i still happens this day, just look at some of the bethasda produced games like fallout, The Elder Scrolls game like skyrim.

Have the Disney Infinity Starter Kits just not been showing up on here at all lately? My parents got a 360 and want to get that on there for my little sister, I've been watching the Warehouse like crazy for them but it's just been a bunch of random figures (of which I did get a few so it wasn't worthwhile at least)

Haha, I'm only 21 and I'm as nostalgic as you can get about those old systems, growing up with all of them I have a lot of better memories with them then I do most modern stuff, put Mario and Bioshock in front of me I'd generally go with Mario almost every time, way better replayibilty IMO

meh I like some old games But I can admit that very few aged well.  Xenogears is one that gets rec'd everywhere and I say its a very huge case of nostalgia goggles.  It does not hold up well at all. I'm hoping my recent purchases of 2 ps1 classics aren't a similar case.

Last time I saw the starter kits on sale were over a month ago. About a week or two after the game released, picked up one for myself and it was a dinger!

Hmmmm, not what I wanted to hear but kinda what I figured haha, thanks for letting me know at least, still a while before christmas so between one showing up here and Black Friday hopefully I can find a good deal!

Good job at trolling. I give it a 3/10 though for lacking originality.
While i appreciate you grading my post, I'd like to also remind you that people surprisingly have different opinions. Yours may be that there are other worthwhile older games, while mine is that there aren't. Don't waste your time. Also, the difference between our opinions is that yours is wrong.

And now that I've angered a bunch of hipsters and stirred up a useless argument, I'm out!

You don't even get to see your characters during battle in Earthbound.

Kind of lazy on the developers part.
Eh?

It's the combat style for the rpg... Plenty of games used it back in that gen.

That's like saying why even have turned based when you could do action based (like Zelda).

Besides SMT IV uses the same thing.

I said I was out, but I cannot stand by while you post blatant spoilers without any warning. Don't act like what you've done isn't a big deal. You just ruined Earthbound for everyone.

the only real older games i really like to go back and play is alot of older sports games like nba jam and other ones. i would agree that alot of the normal games did not age well but when they came out for that time alot of them are better then some of the garbage stuff you see these days.

i could never get into earthbound when it was first out and still did not enjoy on wii u.

I guess I'll be passing on SMTIV then.
I know that I'm not a fan of old school RPGs so I've passed on SMTIV and most other RPGs. I made an exception for Fire Emblem: Awakening because I've actually liked a couple of the past Fire Emblem games and I got Ocarina of Time because I need to play a Zelda game at some point, I figure. Might as well be now.

Can anybody sell me on Skylanders (original starter kit)? It's on AWD for about 27, in acceptable condition.
Run away. I got it for $20 and set a firm limit of spending another $40 on figures. Then I bought another starter kit for a different system, then another one for the first game, then a pile more figures... All things considered it isn't too bad compared to MSRP but still ended up way more than I ever anticipated. Now the new games coming out and planning to buy that and another $25-50 of figures...

Ocarina of Time is cool.

My biggest problem with SMT4 is that someone in this thread posted spoilers awhile back so that ruined it for me.

Never ever?! At least you're starting with one of the best and whatever touch ups they did to the graphics have actually made it hold up quite well.

Ignore the troll. Why won't you people ignore the troll?

I liked SMT IV. I only got through the Chaos ending, but I will eventually go back to finish Neutral at some point.

ahh yes the trophie and gamer score crazy people that play games like barbie and hanna montana to get 1000 gamer score i have couple friends that do that lol.
Now they can hide their shame if they are a ps3 user anyway thanks to the new update on psn.

I had one of them on the Gameboy back in the day but I just didn't get into it. And all I ever had for my N64 was Rogue Squadron, Hey You Pikachu, Star Wars: Pod Racing, and some VW Beatle racing game my parents got me. So I don't really think the series every really had the opportunity to reel me in like it has a lot of my friends. I figured the Ocarina of Time remake was the best way to try and break into Legend of Zelda.
