I do not know what triggers it. I am Elite Plus.

Thats probably what Sears thinks everytime they give me $5, but here I am several $5 gifts later with a collection of Ernest blurays and I haven't spent a dime. Lets see what I can get for $5 st Bestbuy :)

I like this idea... we get a little bonus for going in store and bb gets some sales... unfortunately I have never receieved one of these free deals from bb.... from when I first joined and never bought anything to now when I have elite plus :(

I was hopingto get this by last night. Free 5$ or more I was going to get the eminem CD (the deal with cod:ghost) but I haven't received anything. Oh well, Still got my game with the toysrus price match!

Got another $5 promo certificate

"Your $5 Holiday Reward is inside"

.  Not sure why.  Already got one that expired on 10/28.   Also got a $10 off certificate since my closest Best Buy is closing where I spent the $5 cert I got that expired on 10/28.  I don't spend much there.

Am going to give them till Friday to send my this email. If not am going to call and complain about not getting any of these offers.

Give away $5 to someone if you are all high and mighty.  Otherwise people have the right to feel left out.  I got one but usually an email will fix it when I don't.

I am a letter carrier and saw these sent to people on my route snail mail yesterday and today. Says your mystery reward certificate is inside on the front in a white envelope. Blue best buy logo in the upper left return address area. Its not sent first class and could easily be mistaken for junk mail. No email for me yet. Thats how I usually get these.

Don't worry about judgmental people on the internet. I don't know what your situation is, but 5 bucks for firing off a call or email is a pretty good deal.

However, I would just ask you to consider, enough people complaining could have an adverse effect on these types of offers in the future, affecting everybody. If it means that much to you, then go for it. Just remember: you may get one next go around!

Bravo sir. This was a very well constructed perspective.

People complaining just ruins the point of this promo for BB. I have to believe there is some sort of rationale for the selection process. And if people complain, then what is the point of doing this promo?

I actually received one last year. Legitimately. This time looks like a no go.

Well after not getting the email I decided to call customer service and complaint on why I wasn't getting these type of offers send to me. The representative told the emails sent are "random" and they don't control on who gets them. :bs: He they told me that I had a $20 certificate and why hadn't I used it? I told him I was saving it for later to use on Black Friday.

I then told him this was the second time I don't get these types of offers sent to me like the one in October which alot of people got the $5 certificate. He then told me to hold on and after a while he gave me 500 points (Customer Satisfaction) into my account.

I don't know why BestBuy doesn't offer these emails first to the people that actually buy stuff from them but does to people who have 3 or 4 fake accounts with them?!? Anyways I will suggest to anyone who didn't get this email and the first one sent back in October to call and complain you might get lucky and get some free points out of it!

Congrats on whining your way to 500 points.

I went and used mine today. Another -281 code for $5.  My BB had a copy of Valkyria Chonicles, so I PM'd it to Amazon's price ($39.99 down to $19.83) and then used the $5. Pretty good for me.

I'm curious, I mean to the people who whine about not getting stuff like this (and in a serious manner, not a joking one), do you complain ALL the time when you don't get something?  Did you write into MS because you didn't win an XB1 or weren't accepted into the Kinect beta a while back?  Do you complain because you don't get the big prizes at MickeyD's during monopoly?

I'm seriously asking, where do you draw your personal line?

i would love a 5$ coupon to use on bf but i absolutly REFUSE to call and whine about not getting a random coupon that many of us didnt get. life moves on and a savy cag can save without that lil 5$ :)

had one that ends in 718, only five bucks...he took a long time to scan it though! i wonder if he was bs'in me

I used to get the mystery certificates when they only mailed them out through snail mail (although sounds like they still do according to the poster above?)

Since they started emailing these and also doing the mystery certificates every once in awhile, I haven't received a one, and I'm elite plus and have been a member of RZ since the beginning.

Oh come on man you don't want to throw a tantrum like you did when Kimmel ate all your Halloween candy? :D

I put my $5 toward the $30 two-year GCU renewal, couldn't pass it up.

I believe you have to use it by the 16th so it should be good unless it was somehow already redeemed. Go to the BB forums and complain there. Chances are they will give you at least $5 worth of points in your account, but no promises.

By the way, I used this thing on a $10 PSN card online.  It has free shipping and they don't charge tax on it since it's a "gift card".
