Mystery Reward Certificate from Best Buy. YMMV. Check your spam folder.

CAGiversary!
Got an email with a printable coupon/barcode that will give a cert worth $5-$5000. Here are the details.

Bring the Mystery Rewards certificate to your nearest Best Buy® store by 11/16/13. Ask a Customer Specialist to scan it to reveal the value. If the value of the Mystery Rewards certificate is: $5 to $500, you may redeem it immediately through 11/16/13 at participating Best Buy stores (not valid online) 250,000 My Best Buy points (that's $5000 in My Best Buy certificates), please call the toll-free number printed on your receipt by 11:59 PM (PT) on 11/22/13 Redeem your certificate in a single transaction with a total purchase price equal to or greater than the value of the certificate.

I do not know what triggers it. I am Elite Plus.

What has two thumbs and a mystery reward certificate with 281?  This guy!  I'll probably put it towards a $10 PSN card.

It didn't let me use the last $5 certificate to preorder in store, but it let me use it to preorder online with store pickup.
Interesting, I didn't think this would work but I'd prefer this if so. will have to try. Did it show the deduction right away?

The email will have one of two subjects:

"Mystery Reward Inside: $5–$5000 in certificates" (you got a free cert)

"Take a Peek at Our Hottest Picks" (you didn't)
Well I got the latter. Probably because I did a huge trade-in on my completed games last week. Enough to pay off the XBox One and PS4. (Thank you 100% bonus trade-in)

Spoke to @bestbuysupport on Twitter and they said:

@BestBuySupport: @mkerrigan7 Yes, all My Best Buy members should receive this email. ^Justin

Hopefully everyone will get their emails soon

Got mystery with -281 so have to find something over $5 to spend it on.

I did not get a free $5 RZ cert that others have mentioned recently.  Elite Plus btw.

Got one on my wife's account....which we never use.
I spend a small fortune at Best Buy on my account, and I get nothing. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

Just so you guys know, the mystery certificate isn't going to show up on My BestBuy. You actually have to go to a link via the e-mail to get it. Also, the odds on the $5 cert are 1:1. The 1:1,333 is for the $20 cert.

Not elite here, but got a 281 email this morning. Guess it's $5, so can't complain about that!

BB math...Hate when terms use "odds" when it'd be best to give a %.

I'm assuming this is how they're given out. I'm elite plus and gcu. No email.

I just got one of these mystery coupons but closest Best Buy is like 2 hours away so it's useless for me. Sucks. :(

I'd offer to give it to someone but it was my name on it and what not.

:censored: This is the second time I don't get anything...Back in October everyone got the $5 Reward Certificate and now this. I didn't complain last time but this time I will if I don't get nothing.  :bomb:

It actually does. So you know.

The fact that it's a "rewards" account, no, it makes no fucking sense what so ever that they would give to accounts that don't have any activity but refrain from "rewarding" accounts that do...especially the top tier ones.

If they want to market it out to customers who don't shop at BB, an avenue that doesn't involve back handing your loyal customers might be a better way of luring customers in. Maybe even phrasing the certificate as "we miss you" or something like that.

281.  Not elite, but do shop regularly at the online store.  Don't have a working printer, though; wonder if they'll scan the bar code from a cell phone?

How else are they going to track your lack of spending besides a "rewards" account, genius? Pick randomly in the phone book?

How they phrase the email is irrelevant to the criteria for determining who gets sent these things.

It obviously is completely relevant you fucking moron.

But how could you see that, you have your head shoved so far up your ass.

You fucking idiot, it's a REWARDS program. I don't give a fuck how they find new customers, just don't do it in a manner that slaps your loyal customers in the face. How the fuck could you not see that?
