Green Man Gaming (Steam) Deals: 25% Off Hitman

Well it was really a failed weasel-word attempt that wound up proving what I said: 75% off is far more important than $$$ amount.
Agreed.

Related: I am selling my entire collection of blankets for $1000. Since I only own one collection of blankets, it's the only type of blanket bundle of its kind in the world, nay, the universe. Given its MSRP of $4000, it's a steal. Have at it, bitches.

And if I feel like straight-up answering sarcastic-laced and sarcastic-coded posts as if they ain't sarcastic, then obviously I will - just like I have already, numerous times before.

why, just to post...

because thats honestly the only reason to

unless you suffer from autism and suffer with social interaction which then this is totally acceptable

I'll wait on Thief, not even sure I want it and I need to use up my Steam wallet funds on something. Buying $60 worth of Steam wallet for $45 turned out to be a mistake, I never shop there.

I'll buy Rust off of you for $5 if it helps make some of your money back.
I'll buy Rust off you for two fiddy as it would help me more.

Wut?

Well...I was gonna buy Thief buy grabbed Disciples 3: Reincarnation instead. $6 is a pretty decent price for a game in general, it's the lowest it's been by quite a bit, and Thief is dropping like a rock and will definitely go lower than $13.

Darn my lack of unlimited funds.

It looks like the fix is back on again. Those evil bastards haven't transferred my credits in 3 days, despite tracking all of them. Dump all cargo into the sea and abandon ship!

Have you logged in to GMG? You need to do that daily or they won't transfer because u aren't "active".

Hi, just wanted to let everyone know that I was just able to pre-order Dark Souls 2 with 20% off using O3H7FE-D4NFO0-F0LIGK at GMG. Not sure if this is old news, and I'm sorry for posting if it is. I missed this deal last time around, and I have been looking for a discount since. Praise the Sun!

I bought Injustice the other day for one of my kids account (he is fan of fighting games). He is loving the game, but no more than Mortal kombat.

My other kid (I have 2) don't like it too much... but he likes MK (what he liked from Injustice is that Scorpion is there)

For what I've seen, is a good game, a bit bland, but good. I think MK feels more "real" when playing, the graphics, voices, even the characters are more "alive", and I'm not talking about the blood, because I think the same about Street Fighter. Injustice feels more "plastic", don't know why.

Wow, I used to be able to rely on GMG to still put the Killing Floor DLC on sale at 75% off, but they are now doing the same weak 50% off that Steam does.

At least Call of Cthulhu is 75% off. Finally picking that one up.

So, what exactly is the Playfire Rewards system? Does it work? It it worth linking my Steam account to it?
  1. You get GMG credit for "playing" games.
  2. Sort of
  3. Yes
Check out the blog for current lists of available rewards. If you skim through the past couple of months of posts in this thread, you'll quickly see how hit-or-miss the system is. When it works, it's great; when it doesn't, you get to bitch about it.

I have made about $15 for just loading up games and playing them for a couple minutes. If you want to go full bore and bust out those achievements (or pirate them), the payout is significantly higher.

You link your Steam account to Playfire and then they announce rewards for specific game achievements or playing a game for the first time. That's it. They like to put out a bunch of rewards for brand new games, but they'll also give random rewards for older stuff frequently as well.

http://blog.playfire.com/2014/04/thursdays-rewards-17042014.html

There's the current set of rewards. Lego Hobbit has a ton. The reward amounts are listed in pounds, but they convert to local currency, The current conversion rate is about 1 pound to $1.65. As a point of reference for whether they're worth the effort, I've "earned" $22.44 so far this month, and $69.14 total since they started at the end of December. I've gotten quite a few games with that by grabbing stuff on deep sales. I'm quite happy with the program so far.

I think that's the best deal I've ever bought from GMG, Steam version has never been 75% off.

Thanks, I might buy it now

Eh, the new stuff's pretty disappointing. Gonna echo Fox on the lame DLC discount, got Killing Floor semi-recently and have been holding off redeeming the key until a good DLC/Complete Package sale. Guess it's staying unredeemed.

Finally got that "Sega sale" I wanted but it's just Sonic Generations and Sonic Racing Transformed at the usual meh prices.

I caved and got both Poker Nights with my credit because getting all the credit rewards for them means you make a profit, which was too good to pass up. Also got DLC Quest for 60 cents w/voucher because it seems to wanna avoid bundles since it got on Steam and I was gonna buy it on Xbox for $1, so wynaut?

Opinions on the Awesomenauts price? I know it was in a Humble, but I missed it. I have it on 360 already but they've done a terrible job patching it (patching fees are gone, no more excuses). Anyone with both versions able to chime in?

New deals are up...including the old Bethesda stuff, cool.
Nothing for me today except maybe F1 2013, which probably still falls into the "too rich for my CAG blood, even with credit" category. Any particular reason I should be interested in CoC, aside from it not having hit this price point before?

Oh, and I'll channel Mooby for a minute and say...Humble Bethesda bundle incoming.

$1: Hunted and CoC
$6: Rage and Doom
$15: Skyrim non-legendary so they can screw more people on the DLC

CoC is supposed to be really good, though it's a bit dated. I'm definitely going to grab it. Thinking about this:

CoC

Hunted

Doom

Total will be $9.98 after the %20 off. Leaves me with $.51 since my rewards just flipped about five minutes ago. Nice timing. :)

Haven't completely decided between Doom and Rage, but Rage isn't supposed to be very good about the gunplay aspect of the game, from what I understand.

I really enjoyed Rage, the problem is that it just ends about halfway through the "full" game, if that makes sense. It's like they ran out of funding/time, and just threw a 10 second cutscene in and called it a day.

Thoughts on Call of Cthulu and Hunted? I'm also eyeing Doom BFG and Rage, acutally.
After many, many years of haunting my wishlist (drumroll, please.. ) I've finally bought Hunted at a reasonable discount! $2.81 after voucher and a buck credit or so. I realize it's not amazing, but it feels sooo good to get it off that wishlist.

Take that, Steam! And Amazon! And everyone else who couldn't put that old-ass Bethesda game on sale!

Ahem...

So, obviously I can't vouch for Hunted, but I can for DOOM BFG (provided you don't have DOOM 3 and the DOOM II games that come with the BFG package). DOOM 3 is a very loong game with great gameplay. Many bemoan the differences between it and the original games, but it's still a quality id shooter. Don't expect a great story -- that's not id's thing -- just lots of killin'. If you like moody games, then you will like DOOM 3. I'm not a big fan of "scary" games, and DOOM 3 was very intense in mood at times, in the way in which you get that sense of dread entering a darkened bloody room that you just know is going to be bad news. I had fun.

Rage -- it's great for fans of id shooters. It's not amazing and it's a huge letdown from the way they built it up, but it handles the shooting part pretty well. Highly recommended: buy the DLC

If you haven't already, get the Scorchers DLC the next time it's at a good price point. It's formerly cut content that helps with the game's lack of a proper ending.

I highly recommend Doom 3: BFG for the price, by the way. I'd get it myself if:

A) I didn't pay $20 for Doom 3: BFG on my 360 during BF

B) I didn't own the original Doom 3 Retail for PC ($5 from Best Buy several years ago)

C) I didn't own Doom 3: Special Edition for the original Xbox (comes with Doom 1 and 2) since it came with the system I bought off eBay for $100

D) I didn't own a second copy of Doom 3 for the original Xbox because the Xbox I got off eBay had a second copy for whatever reason.

Basically what I'm saying is, I've already bought this game far too many times. Bundle or bust, motherfuckers.

Laf. GMG is down from traffic I'd assume.

I'll pass on Rage and get the others I mentioned above. Scorchers isn't on sale so I'll just pick it up another time.

So, according to Mr. Madness, GameFly has the same sales as GMG on Sonic/Sega stuff, but their sale includes Hell Yeah! and non-Steam Crazy Taxi. GameFly has the annoying voucher restriction now though, and the only price GameFly beats GMG on is Castle of Illusion for $5 before voucher, every other price is the same.

Edit: Gamefly also has Colonial Marines for $5. Figures they put the wrong Aliens game on sale. :wall:

lol...I was trying to remember which CAG had been pining for Hunted for years now... It was you!

Yes, now I can stfu about it anytime an Amazon rep asks for feedback!

Actually, I can feel that energy transferring to a vigilant hunt for a LEGO Indy deal even as I write this...
I can get behind that. Definitely a better game to get a deal on than Hunted.
