Green Man Gaming (Steam) Deals: 25% Off Hitman

When i go to the individual game pages, there is no discount for the Ubisoft games.

And the front page has the day 7 deals as the day 6 deals. No mention of the Ubisoft deals.

I think NA has gotten the short stick today.

Sweet. I didn't notice this yesterday. Effectively 73% off after 20%, good enough. If I can muster enough patience and luck to make it through checkout.

Edit: 78% off if I factor in the 10 cents back in GMG credit. Win! Also I've been to both Amsterdam and Oakland =D

Man... GMG's website the last few days does nothing but run like shit... Their 15 minute reservation is going to be the end of them since people cannot get checked out in time.
Yep, simply getting CoC was a PITA.

Anyone wanna infect me the Viral achievement for Gun Monkeys? Pretty sure I can grab that one and the jetpack one before the end of the day...
A word of caution, a few users in playfire's forums have figured that since playfire recognizes your chieves in waves, that if they don't decide to check yours before the timer runs out on available chieves, you won't "earn" them. If that is the case, it might explain why I never received my moneys from Blackgate.

I only mention this because I don't think anyone should be subjected to Gunmonkeys.

Yeah, I've noticed this. I thought it was support ticket-worthy though, not something Playfire/GMG deliberately avoided...

Has Playfire/GMG commented on whether or not they would honour it as long as the timestamp is prior to the counter running out?

I wonder why they can't include rewards like "expire_time > last_check_time" instead of "expire_time > current_time".

Surely they do store last checked time to ensure it doesn't update same profiles over and over, althought that would explain a lot... (time is actually shown as time when achievements was logged in playfire)

...
Yes

Yea, I was just about to post this. Playfire tracks achievements periodically, once or twice a day per account, not instantaneously. So even if you get the achievement within the reward period, Playfire records the achievement at the time they track your account, which may be AFTER the reward period, so you don't get that credit. Much more of a problem when trying to earn it on the last day, so give yourself a day buffer so they can track it properly.

I had this problem when playing Batman: AC on the last day, and didn't get credit for some achievements that Playfire tracked 5 hours after the period ended, but at least it was a fun game. Gunmonkeys, not so much.

What the fuck is the point of a timer then. fuck.

I've been noticing this for a WHILE now, and I would send GMG/Playfire a support ticket regarding this but they would never directly answer the question and just credit me for my missings instead.

As I've mentioned before, I would do a reward and it would show up 1-2 days later, or just never. So I've taken a habit to starting on the achievements early but even that doesn't always work.

A while ago, Mindriot, Honeybaked Ham & I did the Monaco "play it again Sam" achievement together and they both got their reward and I never got mine. So.. what the hell GMG/Playfire.

Well, after only a short time using the reward system, I've come to the conclusion that I'm just going to try to get the "Start _____ game" rewards, and not go insane trying to get achievements. It's not worth the time investment, considering the small amount of time I have to play.

There's also a paranoid part of me that wants to unlink my Steam account in case Playfire has any security issues. I've already gotten enough emails from various sites saying their security's been compromised, and that I should change my password :(

Well the latter is because a lot of websites use OpenSSL, from what I read.

And I don't go insane trying to get achievements, especially when I don't own most of the games that are included in these rewards ploy. At most, I might own 1 game out of a week's worth of rewards and usually I already have the achievements :X

Someone seems to have hit the reset button at GMG. Site is back to normal.

I can also confirm buying the EVE 14 day free trial Madjoki posted works to immediately kick all your PF Credit into GMG.

Has Playfire ever said whether you're supposed to get credit for achievements you already did before they announced which ones get credit? When I first signed up, I got credit for 3 achievements I had done a long time ago, but since then I haven't gotten credit most of the time if I had already done the achievement.

Send me a pm with your playfire account username and password, and do the same for your Steam account and I can verify whether or not it's at risk to be compromised or not.

No. First time however gives because they don't know when it was actually achieved (Steam API doesn't give unlock time).

It happened for me in the beginning, but hadn't worked several times since. I just use SAM to reset any achievements I've already earned, and I usually receive them.

Well, I received a response to my support ticket.

Hi Bobby,

Unfortunately we can't offer these promotions on an individual basis once they have ended.

Kind regards,
Michael

About what I expected, but it was worth a shot. Rep didn't even acknowledge the site problems though, so I'm a little disappointed by the cookie-cutter response. I may as well have asked him to give me special discounts on every game ever with that kind of answer.

I can live without Call of Cthulhu, but the easy rewards for Doom 3 made it end up costing ~$2.40, which is pretty good. Hopefully they repeat the rewards, or the long awaited Bethesda Humble Bundle happens.

Funny, this is the answer I got...

Hi Matt,

That's what we told Bobby, but just because we don't like him. Since you asked, you can have a special discount on every game ever, whenever you want.

Kind regards,
Michael

Why are day 7 deals the same as day 6?
Because GMG site is still recovering from shitting itself this weekend.

On another note, I found someone to infect me with that virus achievement. Chances are it won't track but whatever.

Worms: Crazy Golf has been a lot of fun, surprisingly. But they picked the second worst achievement for the 50 pence. Requires you to beat all the levels, and then do this tedious as fuck challenges. You can get whatever score you want on them, but they're still just boring compared to the main levels.

On top of that, you can easily get just about every other achievement while grinding for that one. I just finished Pirate World (2 of 4) and I already have all the achievements besides the Course Complete ones, the reward one, the MP one, and the 100% one.

So yeah, if you have Worms Golf, give it a shot. It's much better than the other 2 games (Worms Blast, Worms Pinball), and the first two achievement rewards will only take you 10 minutes tops.

And thanks to Waggles MindRiot for the heads-up on the easy hole-in-one, worked like a charm yesterday.

My approach has been getting the first play one, playing the game a bit to see how much I might like it, and then checking the achievos to see how hard they are.  Most games I don't bother because of lack of time/skill.  I did find myself enjoying Worms Crazy Golf, Blast, and Reloaded enough to go back to those.  The rest of the worms games I could do without.  The first one is basically unplayable because it just stutters the entire time for me.

AHEM!

That vos der sexier cat vit der ver neat hair and der sexy german accent

;)
Sorry, I'm just bad at telling cat avatars apart. Maybe I'm prejudiced. :bouncy:

This is my approach, except in the case of Gun Monkeys because I know I'll never get money back for it ever again. You enjoyed Pinball? Blast was okay, but I hated Pinball.

I haven't played the original Worms aside from on my 360. Is it that unplayable for anyone else?

Does anyone have any opinions on State of Decay? Is it worth it? I have seen some gameplay videos and looks amazingly fun but it also looks very buggy and laggy.

it's fairly enjoyable. I played a bit on 360 awhile back and just recently picked it up on PC again. PC version probably ironed out some of the bugs.

I agree. I started it up last night to get that achievement, and ended up playing it for about 90 minutes. It's got an easy-casual Angry Birds feel to it.

Where's the easy hole-in-one on Worms Golf?

Gun Monkeys is awful and Lunar Flight is too tedious of a sim. I can't believe it took Playfire rewards for me to remember how bad those games are to play.

For the many owners and massive free copies of Gun Monkeys that are out there, it's good to know the servers are still (practically) dead. Sweet justice for an abysmal game experience.

Britannia (World 1): Course Four. Just keep trying, here's a video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGmwFE4a7LE

Is there some secret to getting a 30-character phrase to appear (for the Nifty Fingers achievement) in Typing of the Dead? I've played the last level on the highest difficulty a bunch of times now, and nada.
