The final game is pretty amazing.

Also, I just thought of something...why is nobody actually playing this with RC cars yet? haha. Granted, you couldn't do jumps and stuff...but it would still probably be pretty fun. If we can have robot fighting, there's certainly room for RC car soccer. :)

Yeah, I'd be up for sampling a few different games tonight. I know Brandon and I bought the Payday DLC that's on sale. We could start there and then move on to Rocket League when Rob is available.

I dont recal seing a way to set up cross-platfor parties on Rocket League...is your Steam ID linked with your PSN Tag? We can give it a shot, but im not too sure queing up is possible

Edit: Just looked; there is cross-platform play, but you cant queue/party cross platform.

So we figured out last night that though you cant queue, you can set up Private Mathes and play cross-platform, so we could get up to 8 of us playing together with/against AI, until/if they add cross platform parties.

 
Yeah, there are definitely some fun possibilities. The cross-platform play worked just fine, other than not being able to voice chat. Even the d-pad quick chat worked though, so it's not like you couldn't communicate at all.

It would be really cool to get some big games going.

Haha, yeah some of the poses players end up in are pretty great. I've had a few good ones in Madden 16 already.

In other news, as many expected would happen, the HTC Vive will not be on store shelves this Christmas, and its release got pushed back into 2016.

They're trying to save face by saying that a "limited quantity" will be available "commercially" this year as "community and developer kits" (see also: the same thing Oculus has been doing since 2013, lol)...but the full unit won't be out until Q1 2016...or the exact same time the retail version of the Rift comes out.

I think this puts the power back in Oculus' favor. They have the name everybody recognizes and will be cheaper (possibly by as much as 50%). Not to mention, the extra support from Microsoft and Xbox One (this guy already has Xbox One streaming working with Win 10 and his DK2)

The Vive is going to need to be pretty damn amazing and offer something substantial the Rift doesn't have to convince people to spend the extra money.

I have seen a lot of comments already saying "Well, if I have to wait until March anyway, I might as well get the Rift." I would guess it's going to come down to price and requirements. I think a lot of people have no clue how hardcore and invested you're going to need to be to get good performance out of the Vive.

I'd say the same thing for the Rift, since even that will need a 970 to run properly...but having the Xbox Streaming might help. The virtual cinema thing isn't a huge draw for me...but maybe for a teenager who doesn't have space and/or funds for a big screen TV, it could be very appealing.

Yeah, it's about time somebody used the MotionScan facial capture that they used in LA Noire (at least it looks just like it anyway). I read an article a while back about no other games using it since then because it was so expensive. But it makes such a big difference. To me, that's a legitimate "next gen" feature.

That is pretty crazy that he's not in the top 10.

Especially when you consider he doesn't have a star studded D in front of him.

How the hell is Schneider in there? Holtby had a pretty good year so I can understand that.

Interesting that of the top 10 only 5 lead there teams to the playoffs.

I'm curious what they will have Mrazek at and how much they'll knocked Howard down.

Yeah. I just didn't want to do full price for both. And I still feel like the EA Vancouver team has been very tight lipped on NHL 16 features. Outside of "the new EASHL" what have we heard?

Personally, I feel like some these are pretty damn questionable.

Centers... EA needs to stop blowing Crosby. Is he one of the better players in the league yes, but the best? I personally don't think so. As much as it makes me want to check myself into the nearest asylum saying this... Toews probably should be right with him at a 94.
Then on to my beloved Datsyuk... How the fuck is he at a 93? He was an 89 last year and missed 19 games. He did average over a point per game... But I can't justify it.

LWs are okay to me.

RWs are decent except two things... How is a Nash an 89? Didn't he really pick up his D last year, and that is supposed to be a factor in the overall ratings. The second is Hudler... What the hell? I think Gaudreau was more deserving of cracking the top 10 LWs.

D, I'm kind of schocked by the absence of Chara. Didn't have a great year, but still easily a top 10. However, I think the only person that could be considered bumping wpuld be Josi... And that's still a tough one.
 
I don't know. The ratings feel very "samey" to me. For the most part, these are always the guys at the top. That's probably the biggest reason the Chara/Josi thing seems surprising. How often does EA actually change the top 10? I get that these are the best players...but I feel like they limit themselves so much by not making better use of the 100 point scale.

Basically, you're not a star unless you're 92-96. So, how much movement can they really make in that 4 point range? And how insanely good does a guy have to be to knock someone down a spot? I wouldn't want a situation where Crosby is a 96 and a guy like Josi is an 80. But I guess if the game relied on actual physics and common sense more than it does skill sticks and deking rating, it wouldn't matter as much.

A guy rated lower than Crosby might not have the same raw skills, but he should still have hockey sense and play well positionally. But that's not what we see in this game. If you're not a 85+ player, you fall over all the time and you can't make a 5 foot pass.

 
Got my new CPU fan installed today, and I'm getting about 7-10 degrees Celsius cooler while idling now than I was with my H60 liquid cooler. I think the H60 is just a piece of crap, and this was a much cheaper fix than going for one of the dual 120mm coolers.

Also, I caught up on some Domingo Ayala videos today (he's been making a lot lately). This was one of my favorites.

Most of the stuff he says is just crazy, but that one actually makes a lot of sense, haha.

There's another guy doing a similar thing to Domingo named Kent Murphy. He's not as clean as Domingo and probably isn't as funny either. But some of his stuff is worth checking out. The Slow Pitch Home Run Derby and Rainout videos are both pretty good. :)

 
Imo, the problem with player ratings in any sport game, is that any "awareness" type attribute, like discipline awareness, adaptability, etc., provides a crutch for bad/sloppy play. For example, in Madden, if I consistently hit the ball hawk button or whatever it's called now with perfect time 100% of the time with a player that has a 35 rating in interceptions, I will never get an INT. On the other hand, if a miss the window with a 85 rated player, I will be more likely to get a pick.

This is why I am excited about the set classes in eashl, even if it is simplified to Ice Hockey levels of Skinny Guy, Middle Guy, and Husky guy; it rewards the person operating the controller, not the player in the game.

Yeah I've always found it weird that so many pros sit on 3-0 counts. Usually it's a predictable fastball that's not going to be on the corner, so just take a chance to knock that one out. No wonder Domingo is a 3 time rookie of the year; he knows his stuff

LOL...the clip of the kids soccer team got me. Looked exactly like Rocket League, haha. All they needed was the "BOOM!" overlay when the kid fell down.

I am actually pretty well set for now with my Turtle Beach headset for the One. Only headset I would replace is the cheap Tritton headset I got for my PS4 but I don't play it enough to make it worth it.
