Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Looks like Bandai Namco has confirmed Dark Souls Remastered for 5/25/2018 release date. Supposedly will have updated lighting and textures based on Dark Souls III. Not sure if/how it would take advantage of any X1X enhancements.

Edit: looks like X1X will have 4k @ 60 fps.
That is eh (sorry never fell in love with the series).

And it's coming to Switch. What a time to be alive.
After watching Nintendo's Mini DIrect, what isn't coming to the Switch. Man, I'll stick with the Wii U but fuck they're bringing over all the Wii U catalog to the Switch it seems.

Portable infinite deaths.
So there's going to be a bunch of people walking around with tourettes I'm gathering?!

Man I have a shocking lack of progress in Dark Souls achievement wise, thought I did a bunch more. Guess that was all on the PC version. I'll be getting the remaster for sure so I'm part of the problem. Heck I bought a PS4 just to play Bloodborne and that thing is a graphical masterpiece so I'm excited to see what they can do with this remaster.

Thought I’d check and see how things are going in this shithole forum today.

Super Mario Lost Levels isn't already available on it?

However Horse Puncher is one of the best achievements ever though :

"punch a horse in the face, killing it"

And the picture is just a dude superman punching a horse

Bungie just broke their silence with their plans to try and improve Destiny 2. I know we have some people fine with the game here in the thread but the overall community has been pretty down on it. It sounds like a lot basic improvements are coming in reaction to what the community has been saying, but a lot of this stuff is just reverting stuff back to Destiny 1 standards, or very slowly walking back on bad decisions bit by bit. A lot of the changes are just too vague to mean much for now.

I can't believe how poorly they've been reacting to complaints, and how slow updates come. When you look at the lightning fast changes that games like FortNite and (to a lesser extent) PUBG have been putting out it makes Bungie look like a joke. Even the slower pace of Overwatch is miles ahead of Destiny.

Personally, even with all this stuff slowly rolling out, I think it's going to take a huge rework like The Taken King for me to come back. Hard to say if I will even then, with all the shitty practices Bungie has had lately.

Game Preview titles will have many updates compared to titles that have been "gone Gold". Although Destiny is already a games as service game so yeah it's prob the Activision/Bungie partnership that's mucking up the water.

D2 is great when you only play 3hrs a night and spend those hours doing the weekly reset stuff then play something else. It keeps me occupied after work and lets me unwind before I crash. Then on my off days I play something else cause it takes 3 nights to complete the weekly activities.

I can’t believe how overly entitled and whiny the internet has become that if it’s not a green sweatshirt it’s loot crates or destiny 2. Then they whine and whine and forget and move on to whatever is next. Bungie in my opinion should stick to the plan because all the mouthy dudes will just jump to the next shooter when it releases anyway. Ok maybe I’m not surprised about how the internet is.

With the proposed changes to the NF, I might be able to two-man it now!

I've given up on the Destiny franchise. It's clear Bungie doesn't know what it's doing. It's only taken 3 years for me to give up on this franchise. It took me 8 years before I got tired of the Halo franchise. 9 years before I gave up on Call of Duty. 3 years is a new record. Lol.

When was I supposed to have my torch and pitchfork for a green sweatshirt?

I get ya, but Destiny 2 is just bad and a step backwards. They had so much momentum after The Taken King and everything just seems to be one misstep after another.

I don't know if this was aimed at me, but I stuck with D1 for its entire 3 year lifespan, I think with around 500-600 hours played. Not as much as the really hardcore, but still a lot of time. There are just so many issues I have with how they dumbed it down, just weird design choices, and shitty business practices; that I've given it up entirely.

I also don't think you realize who are being loud. The people that jump to the next shooter when it comes out were having fun with everyone else at launch, and left pretty quick after that. The majority of them didn't stay long enough to see just how hollow the end game experience is, nor were the around for the fuckup after fuckup we've seen from Bungie, and the heavy emphasis on Eververse. Only the hardcore fans are left at this point, 4 months after launch.

The "mouthy dudes" you're presumably referring to are the people that have been MUCH louder about bullshit business practices like EA has had with Battlefront 2 and Need For Speed. A lot of the Destiny stuff has been overshadowed by that in the last couple months

Finally, Bungie does in fact need to respond to the overwhelming negative responses it's consumers have had. The player count had a pretty sharp decline, before they removed the ability for people to be able to check it. I'm sure the new expansion sold worse than expected, and I'd guess this was a factor as to why the seasonal content was announced to no longer require owning DLC. Bungie can't "stick to the plan" because they've pivoted several times already, they haven't been able to keep a long term plan on track for the entirety of Destiny's development.

-D1 development rebooted

-D1 release pushed back a year

-DLC too hard to make so everything delayed.

-supposedly Bungie themselves came to Activision with the plan for Eververse instead of consistent big expansions.

-D2 has development issues, pushed back and Rise of Iron hastily announced to hold off an extra year.

-D2 development rebooted

This is all way off track for the now extremely out of date plan that was in the original contract that came out during the West/Zampella case.

I just realized I have a code for a free download of the movie Assassin's Creed (2016) and it expires on Saturday (Jan 14).  Anyone want it?

I feel like it was ok, but then I realize I sound like the people who think the Transformers movies were "entertaining" and how much they piss me off. So I'll say it sucked just to be safe.

This was in my messages from Xbox Live from about an hour ago:

Got the same message while coincidentally playing FM7 haha. Yeah it says Awakening the Nightmare under that it's a Common driver gear. Have the expansion as well or just a coincidence?

Just completed and won the Forza Driver's Cup so rockin' that getup.

I just own Halo things, not FM7 things.

Does anyone know if the Hoonigan Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 7 that was being given away a while ago can be redeemed by a non-US account and/or work with a non-US copy of the game? I have a friend that has just bought an Xbox One X and is a Forza fan but, here in Europe, that piece of DLC was only available bundled with preorder copies.

Help me fellow XBL Deals forum members, you're my only hope. I already have my XBox One X and I have been rocking it in gloriously faster 720p. I am ready to skip 1080p and go straight to 4K HDR. I have narrowed down my options to the 75" Sony 850E, 900E, 940E or Samsung MU8000 or KS9000. I can live with any one of those and it all boils down to price. My understanding was that the best time to buy a new TV was the week before the Super Bowl. However, while researching TV it seems March/ April might be a better time, with higher probability of less available selection of models on sales. Thoughts and experiences? I appreciate the feedback

The Sony 900e was my personal first choice based primarily on qualitative picture experience. But I had some space constraints and it was a little bit less of a bang for my buck than the Samsung MU7000 I decided on.
