I too bought my 60gb ps3 from gamefunk (after a coworkers recommendation) and it has been rock solid. I wouldn't hesitate to jump on this if you want a 60 :)
fwiw, I just got back from the Tualatin Fred Meyer where they had 75 units for about 125 people. I was just moments too late.

sure, if your LCD has component inputs. My Dell 2405fpw does, as do many of the other high-end LCDs. Otherwise, I'm sure it's possible to buy a box that converts component to DVI or VGA. Seems kinda dumb, though :)
