Unless they removed it, there's a free stand alone character model editor you can play with. Granted it's 63GB which will be a deal breaker for some people but I have ample drive space and bandwidth so it was no big deal. This isn't a defense of the dumb save thing, mind you.

"Bonded leather" isn't much better and gets passed off as leather. Which it is, in the same way that plywood is wood. I'd just stick with cloth. My SL Titan supports me fine at 6'1" and 210 (previously up to 230) pounds but people's ass fatness may vary.
