No, you do not at all. I've played every BioShock. Infinite doesn't even connect with the first two. The first two are just awesome and should be played by you and everyone else here But again, to answer your question. No. You definitely do not need to play the others to understand Infinite.

Anyone that doesn't own BioShock Infinite already, take this chance to buy one of the greatest games of the last gen. I don't know if many games can compare to the beauty in this game. Also, you start BioShock Infinite in my home state. Which is just...balllin...like balls.

I just finished the game and I absolutely loved it. Try to find it cheaper if possible. Its fairly short and doesn't have much replay value. Once you've done it all, you've really done it all and I haven't heard any news about DLC, so...yeah try to find it cheaper. I got a copy for $30 Brand new.

I think its a fun game. I would definitely try to find it cheaper in the Trading forums if you can, but if not, I say pick it up. I play it all the time. Stopped playing BLOPS2 and Halo4 completely.
