From Slickdeals:

"Best Buy has Great Price on Select Blu-ray 3D Movies listed below with store pickup discount (see note). Select free store pickup where stock permits, otherwise shipping is free on orders of $35. Note, for $1 Off, first select shipping in cart, then at checkout switch to store pickup (if stock permits)

•The Peanuts Movie (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD) $8.99

•Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + Digital HD) $10.99

•Predator (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD) $8.99

•Avatar Limited Edition (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD)$13.99

•Independence Day: Resurgence (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + Digital HD) $8.99

•Assassin's Creed (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + Digital HD) $13.99

•The Book of Life (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD) $9.99"

I think these are pretty solid prices if you are interested in any of these 3D movies.
Picked up War of the Planet of the Apes for $16.95 (after $1.00 off and including tax). Might be cheaper come BF, but with the precarious fate of 3-D, it might also be difficult to find by then.

Is this particular T2 3D region free? And how is the picture quality? I read on an eBay listing that some have had issues with the quality. Not sure what that meant.

Thanks!!

Yes, it’s region free. No idea about the quality issues though, it’s a nova media release from Korea. Haven’t watched it yet but haven’t read any issues at Blu-ray.com

Thanks, I grabbed Independence Day: Resurgence off amazon for 8.99. I haven’t seen it yet but can’t pass up that price for 3d.

i didnt really care for the movie to much. i think its one of them 1 time watch movies.
Yeah, I saw this one in the theater, and I don't plan to ever watch it again. It lost all of the cheesy fun of the original and was just plain silly for most of its runtime. $8.99 is a good deal for any 3D movie, though!

Looks like we’re getting a domestic 3D blu ray release for Ready Player One as part of the 4K combo pack. Warner Bros still shows us 3D collectors love thankfully

I hope this turns out to be true but I’m still not convinced yet—it could just be a missing comma in a press release. I’ve only seen one site interpret this as a 4k/3d combo pack. None of the 4K artwork says 3D on it.

WB Shop has separate 3D and 4K listings:

Warner Bros. store is offering free shipping. They have a Tomb Raider 3D, but the price is steep at $34.99

https://www.wbshop.com/products/tomb-raider-2018-3d-blu-ray-blu-ray-digital-combo-pack
Deep Discount has it for $30 plus there’s a 10% off coupon today (HANGTEN) and still over $25, so free shipping.

They also have Rampage and Ready Player One for $31.50 each. I went ahead and preordered all separately and will cancel if there’s a better deal:

There were a few more 3D titles that dropped in the $9 to $15 range at Best Buy this morning.  I ordered Goosebumps 3D for $8.99 as I have been waiting for it to come down to a decent price.

I’m waiting for another amazon uk sale to pick up some of those marvel, Pixar, Star Wars 3D titles.
Had no idea there was an overseas 3D release for Jumanji

Does Amazon UK have a Disney Blu-ray sale regularly? I thought it used to be twice a year or something, but it seems like it's been way longer than six months since the last one...

The amazon uk sale seems to be about three times a year

The last one was late March/early April, I believe, as that’s when I got Cars 3 and Pirates 5, and I believe the time before that was late November/early December

Well I've been trying to keep an eye out for their sales the past year or so, so if they've had any Disney-related Blu-ray sales since then, I have missed them!  I have a list of seven or so of 3D Disney Blus that didn't get 3D versions here that I plan to buy from Amazon.co.uk.

I believe the last B1G1 deal on Zavvi and Amazon UK ran September to November last year but there may have been one since that I don't recall. I am holding out for a new sale so I can get Coco, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Cars 3. I would also get Solo as well if the next deal is far enough out that it has been released. I never got Ratatouille but think that is no longer available from retailers so I am probably out of luck there.

Slightly unrelated, the best in-theatre 3D I have seen was Incredibles 2 this past weekend. It may have been the theatre I saw it at - a fairly new Dine-In AMC - but it was much cleaner and had more depth than I have seen in-theatre previously. My home theatre using 3D Blu Rays, active glasses and projector shooting a 120" image gave a much better 3D experience than in the theatre before this. I am real curious to see how Incredibles 2 is on my home setup after such a good experience in the theatre.

The last amazon uk sale was late March/early April I know this because I ordered cars 3 and pirates 5 which were not part of the promo the previous time in late November/early December because they were new releases at that time.

There never seems to be a time where marvel, Star Wars, disney/Pixar are all part of the promo. Right after the last Disney/Pixar sale there was a separate marvel sale.

I still need to get - Thor ragnarok, black panther, the last Jedi and coco. Then future releases will need infinity war and incredibles II.

That ratatouille 3D was pretty limited and was region b locked.

So it sounds like I've missed the last couple Amazon UK sales- dang it!

How did you guys find out about these sales?  I am subscribed to Amazon UK's emails about Movies and TV Deals, but I still missed the sales!

The region free deals and 3D threads over at bluray.com boards. Occasionally one of us here mention it but this thread doesn’t seem to get a lot of traffic anymore

Do you have a specific thread or two that seems best? I would like to stay in the know, but don't anticipate checking for new threads on regular basis so having a couple to follow would be really helpful.

Black Panther in 3D is incredible. Disney is a hilarious company putting out some of the best 3D blu-rays and not distributing them in the U.S. Will report on Coco next.

Is the 3D better over 4K?

Also debating on ghost in the shell 3D or 4K.

Anyone can comment what looks better?

Thinking of getting the matrix on 4K.....🤨

It depends on the film, though in a majority of cases, 3-D is better, especially if the film in question was intended to be in 3-D. There are exceptions, like Blade Runner 2049 and many of the DC Universe films, but most often it's better to go with 3-D. For Ghost, I'd definitely go with 3-D (and have, as I own it). The 3-D effect is great, giving the film a sense of scale, and provides a few eye-popping scenes that really show off the format, all of which you would miss with a 2-D version. The extra detail provided by 4K is not worth the loss in this case, especially since this particular film isn't as big an improvement in picture quality as you would expect from the upgrade. Some studios are known for great 3-D, especially Disney, particularly their Disney Animation, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars lines. All of them consistently provide some of the best 3-D on the market, Definitely get anything coming from one of them in 3-D, even if you have to import it. Their non-MarveL/SW live action offerings, like the Pirates films, can sometimes be underwhelming in 3-D, though other times, like Beauty and the Beast, they can be stellar. Go to blu-ray.com for the full scoop on which version is better for any title. Their assessments are spot on, and also let you know of any other issues, such as the 3-D version having an inferior soundtrack (an unfortunate trend these days).

4K Matrix is supposed to be really awesome. Only thing holding me back is the high price. Going to hold out for a better price point on this one, but definitely a must own, even if you already have the regular Blu-ray.

Matrix 4k is $14.99 for Prime Day on Amazon right now.

Marvel 3-D: 2 for 18 pounds at Zavvi!

https://www.zavvi.com/offers/marvel-multi-buy/3d.list

Sadly, Ragnarok is the only title not also available in America. No Black Panther or Infinity War, though the still-expensive original Thor and Captain America films are part of the deal.
They added a few more - in addition to Ragnarok returning, they also added the two previous Avengers and Iron Man 3 films. Sadly, the two most wanted are still MIA.

No Black Panther = No Care.

No Black Panther = No Care.
I am not really worried about Marvel movies, but am hoping there will be a Disney and/or Star Wars Amazon.UK deal in the near future. Got a small number of these that are missing in my collection and really would love a similar deal to the current Marvel ones for them.

They've been having regular Disney sales, but I don't ever recall seeing a Star Wars sale, or even Star Wars movies included in other sales.

I haven't seen a Disney sale for a while now but I may have missed it. I think the last was in early Spring and didn't include some of the newer movies like Coco. I am sure they will happen again.
