Here are the new deals for this week:

Edge - $1.99 - 50% Off - Permanent Price Drop
I bought EDGE for $1.99 the day it released on the 3DS, I don't know who they're trying to fool...

With that said, the game is really awesome and well worth the regular price of $2.

They specifically had a launch sale for all of their classics (Toki Toki, Edge, and Rush on Wii U) for half-off, so it went back up to $3.99 after a month or so. There's nothing about that that makes it not a deal.

This is their specific reasoning for the permanent price drop:

So why did we do this, you ask? Nintendo provides daily sales updates, including number of units sold per country. We made a mistake which caused the US introduction price to remain in effect longer than we had planned, which actually gave us a chance to compare what happens when we increased the price in the EU to the numbers in the US. After reviewing the sales data we noticed that the additional copies sold when the games were cheaper resulted in more revenue in the end.

So feel free to pick them up when you see fit, they’ll stay on this price point indefinitely!

Actually the way it works is there are 6 story/haggle discount games and 4 games you use coupons to get for a discount. The 6 story ones go from 2.00 to 1.90, 1.80, 1.70, 1.60 and finally the last game is 1.00. The 4 you use coupons for go down to 1.50 for a total of 16 bucks in total.
That sounds annoying. I'd need a walkthrough just to get the best deal.

The 2 minigames I've bought (Bat and Switch and the Umpire one) have been very enjoyable thus far, and different enough that I don't mind having paid $2 each. I don't know if I'll wind up buying every game yet (if the story continues to hook me though, I very well may), but I enjoy the story and the mechanics enough that I'd call this game a good one.

Governor  of  poker  hits the 3ds shop this thursday for  4.99

Would be a day 1 grab for me but the graphics look like crap    (but will still buy it day one)

Don't buy Bat Master. While it was satisfying making a good bat it wasn't 1.50 satisfying. Everything else has more meat but that one just feels scamy in what it brings to the table

Thanks for the tip on that one. The second one I bought was Feel the Glove, and personally I think it's not the greatest because half the games use motion controls for catching fly balls and it doesn't seem very accurate. The grounder parts of it are okay though. I really like Bat and Switch, so I may either go for another hitting one or the umpiring one next, which I've been hearing good things about.

I thought Feel the Glove's motion was done well. I had a problem tracking the ball at first but after a few tries it felt right mainly because it was just the up down motion. Now the Gear Games Bat game had a little too much motion control. You moved left and right to control the bat and fliped it up a bit to give the ball a bounce.

the rusty game thing    isnt a real baseball game is it.  Already have a nice  Baseball game on the  Dsiwere side and not sure if picking up another is worth it

There hasn't been a good baseball game since Base Wars.

(OKay, that's not true.  Power Pro Baseball was a lot of fun, and it's sad we never got the sequels here.)

The one thing I'm not liking about Rusty's Real Deal Baseball is the stupid, manipulative story that you have to endure to buy the next game at a discount since they make Rusty out to be a real piece of shit husband that didn't even notice his wife had left him and has no useful skills to be a good parent for his ten children. You earn items by completing challenges in the games you purchase that are supposed to help him become a better person, but having to further this story just to get the games might be worse than a traditional mobile free-to-play system.

I agree with you to an extent, but I have to give Nintendo props for actually trying to do something different with the F2P model. It's pretty neat at first but after going through the whole process 2-3 times I just wish there was an option to buy everything at the minimum price.

Overall I think it's a pretty solid game though. It's made me play my 3DS a lot more often than I have in a while, but I'm a huge baseball fan so that makes me a little biased. lol

Yeah, the minigames I've played so far are good, but I wish there was less BS involved in just getting the games since it's really obvious why the story is there.

Wow, Witch and hero again?!  It's almost as popular as the Amy sale on PSN!!!  At least now I can go back to eating my lunch.  I personally really liked Witch and Hero, but enough is enough!

The worst part is they keep putting it at the same price.. like they don't wanna do a price drop but know the game's definitely overpriced (kinda like they're doing with the Atlus games, but at least those eventually get price drops and are generally worth it). But yeah, Swords and Soldiers is also a repeat. As for the exact %s for those two, I'll leave it up to Frisky.

Oh, new releases, by the way:

Mach Rider (NES) - $4.99

Boxzle (3DS Download) - $2.99

Governor of Poker (3DS Download) - $4.99 (As previously mentioned)

LEGO: The Hobbit (Retail/Download) - $29.99

At least somebody wants to put their games on sale on 3DS since it's been kind of barren lately.

Has anybody that purchased Witch & Hero actually beaten it? I've been stuck on the final boss that is crazy hard since they take away your powers.

think  witch and hero never went off sale since the last time it was listed. it was on sale last night

Governor  of  poker   is a nice game....  first said it was a flop, sort of weird game you can play it with  the  BUTTONS but to  BUY THE HOUSES  You  must use the touch screen.

Game seems to be harder on the  3ds then the pc.   Can never get past day 7.  Win  one tourament but then lose 4 in a row  .  ONce you fall under 100 bucks the game ends and you have to restart all over.  What sucks is none of your stats are saved  when you lose

Yes, I beat the final boss of Witch and Hero. It was frustratingly hard. Must have taken me somewhere between 5-10 tries. Had to Google the boss to find out that you can
control the boss' eyes in the same way you control the witch
. Once I figured that out, it still took a few tries, because of those friggin lasers in the final part of the boss battle.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
Mario Kart 7
New Super Mario Bros. 2

Chain Blaster is really fun, I can recommend that one.  It's a bit like Galaga Legions where you're looking for the sweet spot to take out a bunch at once.

Thanks, I appreciate the response, but already own the cart.  I was just thinking it'd be nice to have digitally since it has download play and it's one of my favorite games.

Man at $20 I probably would have double dipped on the digital version of NSMB2 but at $30 I'll go with SMB3 this week at $5 for my on the go platformer fix. Great deal on MK7 if you are into the game. I switched over to digital a few months ago and definitely have got my money's worth from the amount of times I spontaneously boot up the game for a quick race. I think I logged an extra hundred hours just by having it on the system ready to play whenever.

Escape From Zombie City is the only game of the bunch that doesn't have a demo for those that want to try them out first.
I purchased undead bowling from the previous time it went on sale and it's not really worth playing. For some reason I just couldnt get into it and the game played frantically (at least to me) to prevent the zombies from reaching an arbitrary line, sort of like pvz getting into the house. (it's not at all like pvz, I'm just saying it's almost tower defense like). I'd pass on this game. Try the demo, if you're into this type of thing and like the demo, go for it, but I'd recommed passing on it.

Picked up SMB3 on the 3DS.

Really cool how they added download play multiplayer into the game.

Had a lot of fun playing a few worlds of co-op tonight.

Never knew of that feature...I've been waiting forever for Nintendo to ad online mp to their VC games. I'd def buy Contra, Mario kart/64, smash bros etc again if it meant online!!!

I too am curious as to what the idle player does while the other plays in SMB3. Even at its worst I think itd be fun to watch.

Unpermanent?

Yeah, I have no idea. I'm looking at the deals right now.

They're permanent. They changed the color of the font for permanent drops though (the "was $" line is now in black instead of white), which is weird...
These games have been on Permanent Price Drops before for lower prices, but they raised the prices at some point and are now lowering them again. They're doing sales disguised as permanent price drops:
