F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]

I decided to pass on syndicate myself, maybe it will get added to the 2012 list though and end up free after coupon in January. I used the rest of my amazon credit on 3 more copies of Zeno Clash for giveaways though, link in sig =)
Any worthwhile $0.99-$3 games worth buying for coupons before the sale is over?
just picked up desperados 2 and the two silverfall games for 2.50 a piece.

might pick up war in north but I got a feeling it'll be up again come jan...

Amazon has been very, very good to me this Thanksgiving. I now consider Amazon DVG shopping part of my Thanksgiving weekend tradition:

 1. Eat
 2. Food coma
 3. Waking up every 15 minutes to check this thread for recommendations and little gems
 4. Eating again
 5. Small food coma relapse
 6. Purchasing something MysterD recommends
 7. Registering that game on Steam
 8. Deleting game in Steam library from last sale to make room for new purchase above
 9. Downloading...
 10. Snack/meal (one and the same at this point)
 11. Binge digital game purchase of handfuls of bundles tabbed in Chrome
 12. "What the hell am I doing?!"
 13. Check forum again. F5 on last page to catch straggling posts.
 14. Click on phantom page/click on advance arrow with no results.
 15. "Really, what the hell am I doing?!"
 16. Fall asleep registering new game bundle Tony launches.
 17. "What the hell have I done?"
 18. Let purchase shame give way to satisfaction of even longer Steam/Origin library list.
 19. Feel a pinch of shame at all the light grey entries in Steam library list.
 20. Swear to "get to them soon".
 21. "Yep, I really did it this time..."
Seriously... Can someone explain why I'm charged tax for digital game downloads when I'm not for digital music downloads?
Our apologies. We'll start taxing your music downloads immediately.
Our apologies. We'll start taxing your music downloads immediately.
Figured I'd get a response along those lines. :p Really though, it seems like they're just winging it rather than going by any real legal basis. I don't see how it could apply to only some digital goods rather than all of them. For that matter, I don't understand why it applies to any digital goods at all.

Maybe this isn't the place to ask and I apologize if I am contributing to a thread derailment, but I'd sincerely like to know. I love Amazon and think their prices are great and I will continue to purchase from them (including PCDD). But if I'm going to keep the CA in CAG then I'm going to go with the cheaper, tax-free alternative if given the choice.

Just a heads up for those of you buying games that have to be activated on origin. You might want to run it in a Virtual Machine environment, because it apparently (or allegedly I should say) likes to comb through your system alphabetically. For what reason it would need to do this, your guess is as good as mine. This isn't my photo. It was posted on the Steam forums for Kingdoms of Amalur 11 hours ago (A thread for this bundle on sale actually). But when someone told me a month ago that Origin did this stuff and sent the info back to EA, I bought non-origin copies of all my games (Mirror's Edge, Alice:Madness Returns, etc) and un-installed Origin.

I've been thinking recently games like Mass Effect 3 and Dragon's Age 2 that can't be had anywhere else, so I thought about re-installing Origin, but definitely in a "safe" environment all to itself. Informed customers are the best kind. Thought you should know. And just to be clear, this isn't to steer people away from Origin, hell I'm seriously thinking about re-installing it. But if it's still the "root-ware" it's made out to be, I want to keep it isolated from anything it has no business snooping into and sending wherever without my approval. Amalur still would cost over $80 for the base game and all DLC on Steam. Re-installing Origin for this deal is worth it.....if it can be relegated to just being a client and not mal-ware.....allegedly.
Dongle butt...heehee

What's the one that you use? Third-party or MS'? or did you buy a 360 Controller for Windows and it came with one?
I get deals on microsoft stuff so i bought the controller for windows pack and sold the extra controller.

Its a great investment if you have an xbox and dont mind moving controllers around or have/want an extra.
That picture was floating around when Origin first came out. It's fake. Origin does not do this. Seriously. :p
Well, I didn't include Amalur in the list cause it only requires an Origin Account and an online activation (something Mirror's Edge and Alice: Madness Returns also did, they did not need the client open to run). But I'm still gonna sandbox the hell out of the client. Can't be to careful. Also, is Steam the only place to pick up the Weapons & Armor bundle?

Do you sandbox Steam?

And Origin sells it too ( Weapons and Armor).

Oh, I'm not partial. I'll throw Steam into a VM too. Paranoia knows no bounds.

No judgment. I was just curious. I have a hard enough time keeping up with all these clients. Running them all in VM would just make me give up...lol

The only way to be safe is to completely disconnect yourself from the internet! Don't take that chance!

Sandboxie is easy-peasy if you're paranoid. I cbf about stuff like that though. I can only apologize to Origin for having no porn browse while they root through my files.

Tony - I have not seen a reply to my Deus Ex Human Revolution PM request.. can you do a PM? Gamestop/Impulse has it for $3.74. Thanks.

Well that does take up alot of space....I mean I heard it does. From an , uh, friend.

Hey Tony, thanks for the deals this past week! I especially liked the new Paradox bundles. I hope they did well enough in sales to warrant another run sometime. The timely Steam price matches were great too. Give the Hamsters an extra treat from us!

I noticed this morning that GMG is allowing their 25% off code to work with pre-orders. That would make Tomb Raider $34. I'm not asking for a price match or anything, and I'm not in a hurry to pre-order...

To be honest I feel stupid for not trusting in your deal-making wizardry, but a little reassurance that Amazon DVG will hit around the $35 price point on Q1 2013 releases would be super awesome :)

No doubt, he is a privateer. Sailing the high seas, following where the wind takes him. He no doubt has a first mate named Giggles McDiggleberry and he calls him, "Moo." Just cause. He "assists" other ships he finds by relieving them of their burdens and the worry of having to run a ship with his first contact cannons.

He likes to yell, "Yarrrr!" and "Yo ho, yo ho!" and occasionally is known to use the word, "Savvy?"

The pr0nz is but a small part of a much bigger collection. He probably also likes to wear eyeliner and drink rum. Beware leaving him alone on a deserted island with only his back hair and some sea turtles because shenanigans will ensue.
Throw MW2 in there while you're at it. Didn't that happen last January?
It was in February. My purchase history has it listed as Feb. 19th.

Tony, thank you for the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals! Picked up Dead Island GOTY and Syndicate at an awesome price!

Now that the big sales are over, I wanted to ask if the 1C Bundle was on the horizon as a possible Winter Sale deal? I know I'm beating a dead horse, but after all this time I'm still interested in it.

Thanks and keep up the awesome work :applause:

I skipped buying 1C games mostly for this reason - me thinks Tony is going to surprise us some day with a combo. Plus, most of the 1C games I'm willing to try for a few cents each in a bundle but not at $2-3 a pop.

I also want to know if the 1C bundle is still planned to happen. I don't care so much if it happens in the short term, or if you wait until February when the holiday stuff is finally over. I just want to know if it's still happening. Because like CheapThomas, I've skipped buying 1C games in anticipation of this bundle showing up eventually. And now there is an indie Gala bundle which is featuring 1C games. I wanna know if I should jump on that or not.

Lucky... hook me up lol. But yeah they sell them individually on Amazon but $40-50 is still expensive for me since I just need an extra for my PC, done with Xbox. Just need the receiver

It's actually the second IG featuring 1C games. Good deal for them all too.

True. But the first one launched before the 1C bundle from Amazon was announced. So never had to make a call if I should hold off on buying that Indie Gala bundle.

hell yeah, hd porn takes up huge amounts of space. I found this out when I had to delete it to make room for digital games. ;)

Yeah, but at the price of IG if you think about it - say 10 IG bundles focused on 1C for a total of 50-70 Steam keys for probably $15 bucks? You'd have your bundle there :)
Hey guys,

If you're interested in the IG make sure to grab it 1C won't happen in time for that to be over.

But it ill still gonna happen, right?

I don't care if you don't get it up & running until St Patrick's day. I just want to know that it is definitely coming. I wanna know that you guys at Amazon haven't given up on it because you've come to the conclusion that it's just infeasible to distribute the keys, or that 1C is backing out like Activision backed out of the CODMW2/Blops pack.

But what if they stop at 6 or 7 bundles? Oh, the horror. I'd own most of the 1C games, but not all of them!

The game plan is to still run it, yes, the dev team just can't push any new code right now and we're not able to test further iterations until they can push code again. :(.

THANK YOU for the update!
I want the 1C Bundle so bad, but I'm willing to wait.

If you need more coders, I'm willing to stop by Petsmart and pick up half a dozen hamsters to help out  Just Kidding :D

Thanks Tony!

Alright, cool.

I actually don't expect this to happen until February at the earliest. I know you guys have got to be running around like chickens with your heads cut off with all the hubbub of the Holiday sales. Then after the New Year, you still have a month of the Editor's choice promo. Then once that's out of the way, you still have the Strategy First bundle to test the system.

So I'd say getting the deal in place by Valentines day might even be a bit optimistic. That's OK though, I can wait.
holy crap that is a lot of memory, what are you downloading?
No, I never download porn
I watch them online

1080p HD movie rips and full Blu-Ray backups take lots of space, plus games of course

I was stupid enough to run most of my games from an external 2.0TB USB 3.0 Seagate HDD and few days ago it started to show very high temp and reallocated sector count S.M.A.R.T errors

So why not just do a 1C pack with just one Steam key. There exists in the Steam registry several entries for 1C Complete Collection so 1C could ask for single keys to that instead of individual ones.

Yes yes I know some people will whine and complain about not having separate keys but it's increasingly clear that you guys don't have the infrastructure to handle distributing that volume of separate keys for one purchase and there's no clear indication that would be fixed any time soon.

You could always do a single key 1C pack now and a multi-key one later.

The thing is, the longer and longer this 1C pack takes the more of their games that will end up in indie bundles and people will grab them making your 1C pack less and less appealing to the point where when it comes out a lot of people may already have most of the games in it anyway.
