Pre-Order Borderlands 2 from us for 10% off and help me get a tattoo! Yes it activates on Steam!

I am a huge Borderlands 2 fan and I want this to be our best selling pre-order ever. So I've drawn a line in the sand. If, from now until launch, we take 40,000 more preorders than where we were on 7/2/2012 I will get a Borderlands tattoo on my back.

The real kicker is that the Steam versions of those packs do not contain the Sonic nor ToeJam & Earl games. In fact, it'd be cheaper for me to re-buy the pack on Amazon than it would be to just add the two recently (Steam) released TJ&E games to my existing SEGA packs on that platform.

Thanks. About 90% of that is on my Sonic's UGC. Meh. I wish they would release a collection with some different games on it. So many great genesis games and they keep releasing the same 40.

Probably a dumb question but just to confirm, the $5 credit from this week's sale can only be used on the Ubisoft games? I ask because it says the credit lasts until April 14 and I'm thinking about taking a gamble, Ubisoft-only or not.
THIS!!

@Tony
Will Sonic Gen: Casino Nights DLC be on sale also, as well?
Count me in if the Sonic Generations DLC goes on sale.
Hi!

Will you sell Railworks 2012 for the same price of Steam? ($7)

Thanks!
I don't even think they sell that on DD, just box as far as I can tell.

re: Sonic Casino Nights DLC and all the people asking for a sale

It's a dollar and a half. You really need a sale on that? I'm as cheap as the next CAGer and not one to turn down a deal but really?!?

The DLC is just a mini-game inside of a mini-level. I actually look at the content of what I'm buying - I don't just look at a $1.50 price tag on DLC for games I own and click 'buy'.

Hi Tony,

I just had the problem with the $0.01 credit left over since I bought my initial game when you first started this.

I talked to a rep and he manually gave me the $5 credit and I was able to get my second game but now I think the automated system gave me another $5 credit.

What do I do with this? If I leave it will it just expire or am I supposed to call/e-mail you guys back to get it manually taken off?

Thanks

You aren't going to just use it? Wow top notch guy. :applause:

Man I really want to but I don't want to get banned from Amazon or anything LOL

And i am asking because now I'm not sure if this is the automatic credit or the manual one the rep gave me. I assume the auto one would expire so I could leave it but the manual one might not. I thought I'd better ask :)

Will the Genesis collection be Steam compatible/"activate-able"? I'm thinking no since it has games that Steam's collections don't bundle.

Would be nice tho.

Sorry to bump but can anyone confirm this?
Sorry to bump but can anyone confirm this?
It does expire on the 14th (says on the offer page) but I'm not sure about the Ubisoft only thing.

If you read above, I accidentally was issued extra credit and when I check my credit it says it applies to games, android apps, mp3s, and instant video. That sounds like it can't be exclusive to Ubisoft but then again my situation is a bit weird ATM.

Yea, I think the promo credit they issued you was a general one.

It sounds like the $5 discount for this sale only appears when you check out with a second Ubisoft game. But, if there's a chance to hold onto that $5 credit for a future sale outside of Ubisoft it might be worth it.

OK, I emailed customer service since mine does seem to be a more general credit it would mean that I cannot place any orders without it automatically being applied.
No Shogun 2 in a sega sale? ):

Anyone planning to buy NBA2k12. It is completely BROKEN on PC! They never patched it. The online flat out doesn't work. My Player mode crashes and you will need to restart your comp after you win the Finals. It's a shame because it's a very good game on consoles, the PC version is just flat out broken.
2K recently released a huge patch...you should check it out.

If they gave you an extra credit...use it. I'll escalate internally if it becomes an issue. It shouldn't though.

It is not Steam compatible, it is DRM free.
Sorry to bump but can anyone confirm this?
The $5 credit can only be used on the 19 ubistoft games in the sale, we used the credit to facilitate the $5 BOGO.

I remember the Dreamcast games fondly but $7.50 seems a bit steep for me personally.

Sonic Adventure was great when it came out but hasn't aged well. If you are a Sonic Fan you are better off getting generations.

Space Channel 5 is a classic but I never played 2. I wish it had both like the ps2 release.

Bass fishing really wouldn't be the same without the fishing pole controller.

Crazy Taxi is a good 30 minutes of fun every now and then but I've never been able to play it in more than short bursts.

Went ahead and grabbed the last two I didn't have out of that list - The Settlers: Rise of an Empire Gold and Rayman Raving Rabbids. 4 total DRM-free games for the sale for me - thanks Amazon!
;)
great news, definately picking NBA. If we get a good deal on fifa at the end of the month, i'll take that one too :D

I bought a $5 Ubisoft game earlier today and then checked my credit balance just to make sure my $5 credit showed up. I had a $5 balance in each of those categories as well (each was $0 before) so I'm not sure how the auto credit was really tagged. I didn't want to push my luck and try to buy anything other than another Ubisoft game.

if you remember the Dreamcast games fondly i'd suggest you just keep your memories. Crazy Taxi with no licensed music (e.g., Offspring) is a step down and you don't want to revisit Sonic Adventures. which... leaves you with two games, Space Channel (still good) and a game i don't understand why it's there (that Bass one).

totally looking forward to that 48 pack and Sonic Generations though.
Tony any chance that

Sonic Adventure DX
and Sonic CD go on sale also?
We don't have them slated for this sale but I'm working on it for early April. Nothing solid in place yet though.
Is any of the sega games redeemable on steam? in specific the 48-game genesis collection? tia

Does the dreamcast collection activate on steam?
The 48 game collection is DRM free and I am showing we distribute a key for the Dreamcast collection but can't see what it is for. I'll check on this and follow up.

Cheers,
Tony

Picked up sonic generations as I dont see it getting much cheaper than this! (Maybe in like a year from now it will drop a couple bucks)

Thanks for the deals Tony!
Does the dreamcast collection activate on steam?
For some reason I want to think that it does.....I believe the version that Green Man Gaming carries does activate on Steam, I don't know if there is a difference between the one they carry and the one that Amazon carries however. If anyone has purchased it try plugging the key you get in Steam and report back.

here is the link to them for reference.
I'll get Sonic 4 and Dreamcast Collection iif it activates on steam.
Sonic 4 requires steam, Dreamcast collection......I'm seeing that some places it says that if you get a key for it, that it will activate on Steam. I cant guarantee it however.

I find it funny Amazon makes it seem like NBA 2k12 is cheap because of MM. sorry, no...nice try: it's been this price before

Besides, why aren't the console versions on sale? It's not a MM sale, it's a "this game sells like crap on PC" desperation sale

Seriously, who buys sports games on PC? consoles are more convenient for friends and local MP....not pc (I love my pc but it is what it is)
I'll get Sonic 4 and Dreamcast Collection iif it activates on steam.
You know what I'd like to see?
I'd like to see a Dreamcast Bundle w/ Shenmue series and Skies of Arcadia come to the PC.

EDIT:
Destructoid has a rumor that Shenmue HD Collection has been done for well over a year.
G4TV - Microsoft is trying to get Skies of Arcadia and Shenmue up on XBLA.
Seriously, what's SEGA waiting for?
They should be re-releasing all of this stuff on PSN, XBLA, and of course PC digital services.

@Tony
Can you talk to SEGA and tell them to get going so they can take my $$$? :p

Keep in mind - the dev's have to ALSO make a decent PC port of the [console] game, as well.
It can't be a lazy port job, or else nobody here on the PC will buy it...at least until WAY later, if they do.
For some reason, many sports games on the PC ain't been treated so hot, in some regard...
From leaving out MP portions, to having broken MP's, to poor performance issues on the game [lazy-port job] - yeah, it don't help when those issues come up.

Granted, I ain't played NBA2K12 PC, but I hope those issues ain't there...

I have been thinking the same thing since Dreamcast EMU on PC is pretty much garbage. At least last I tried. Convenience of Steam and my time makes a few bucks for it to be fully working without issues worth it.

I'm not sure about those specific games, but I've been meddling with nullDC (was in active development as of last year..not sure anymore..)...And it works probably 95% perfect. Jet Grind Radio runs smooth as normal, with only some weird shadow issues once in a while. they've made strides!

1. I noted in the OP that we are re-running this sale to coincide with March Madness, a time when there are tons of basketball fans coming to Amazon.com. Running a successful calendar has a lot to do with finding the right time to run price drops on games when people are in the right mindset to consider them. This is called identifying "qualified customers"...like those really excited about basketball season...during March Madness.

2. It looks like you joined this forum in August 2011, around the same time I did. If you look through this thread and the previous one (linked to in the OP) you'll note that no one at Amazon tries to "make it seem" like we're doing anything. My interaction with the community here has been nothing but transparent.

3. This is absolutely not a desperation sale. You don't run desperation sales multiple times, because they are usually terrible, make very little money, and not worth anyone's time. NBA 2K12 is one of our strongest titles due to the demographics of Amazon customers and our ability to target our messaging extremely tightly.

4. Obviously some people enjoy and are excited about NBA 2K12 on the PC. I've quoted one of them, a member of this forum, below.

Hope this helps adjust your perception of this title and it's participation in Amazon's promotional calendar. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hey Tony, I was wondering if there's any incoming promotion for sports games, like NBA, FIFA, MLB. ?
So you quoted a mere 2 people and that's supposed to change my entire perception? Yeah I don't think that's how that works.

Also, you neglected to answer to my main concern: if you're pushing a march madness sale, why are the console versions not also on sale? Is it PC Madness as well? What makes PC get treatment and not consoles?

The only reason I can come up with is poor PC sales. Retailers seem to have deals based on either very well, or very poor selling games (relative to said retailers' expectations), and if you claim the former, then you're implying that PC versions sell better than console versions *chuckles*

Tony has absolutely nothing to do with the console versions. He works for the PC DD department. He is having a sale for March Madness on games that he can control. He has no say on anything other than PC. How about you be grateful for any sale instead of being a prick?

Thanks for all the sales Tony. Forget the haters :applause:

Hater? Nope. I was asking a legit question. Sorry you're so sensitive.

Also, in Tony's long response, he did not mention once that he is only responsible for PC. That would have cleared things up right away, no exhausting, listed defense necessary.
