F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, generally like new items.

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes, All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and almost in perfect condition. Any game i have personally ever bought has in like new condition. However, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken

I'm waiting for the 360 slim, or ps3 to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.
But aren't most PS3's from AWD reformatted to factory specs before being shipped out? Most of the hacks involving the PS3 are software based and can easily be reversed by a full reformatting. At least that's the basic gist of what I've read regarding the PS3 hacking.
That wouldn't do anything if Sony banned the console hardware ID. Once a console is banned, there's no way to reverse that.

Is there a banned list available to the public? With cell phones you can check to see if it is banned. Is there a way to do that with PS3s?

Not that I know of. From what I've heard, if you get banned, Sony sends you a cease and desist email stating that software or hardware was detected on your system that has led to your console being banned from Playstation network, etc. So if you were to purchase one of these banned systems, the only way to check would be to try to go online with it? I'd recommend creating a dummy psn account just to test it, since I wouldn't want to risk linking my actual PSN account with a banned system.

Not a deal, but just a heads up on the DC Universe online games currently listed on AW. If they are used copies, you will not be able to play them at all. The code that comes with the game can only be used once, and can not be bought thru the PSN network. I got burned by this already.

You are correct there icehouse (link to article).
Why You Shouldn't Buy DC Universe Online Used

If you buy the PS3 version of Sony Online Entertainment's action MMO DC Universe Online, you had better stow any plans to trade it in after you are done playing. According to a report on Lazy Gamer, the PSN code that comes packed with the retail game is a one-time use code, which means the person who uses it first is the only one that can use it with that particular disc.

From an SOE representative:
"Once the PSN key has been consumed with a disk it cannot be resold/replayed with the second user adding a sub – only the original consumer can use that acct." SOE also said that the retail disc and the PSN code are one and the same, meaning it is completely worthless after that first use. Further, there is no way (currently) that a second hand user can obtain a new code.

If you see the game for sale "used" at GameStop, avoid it like the plague because it is useless. Super. Hero.Coaster.

I had been tempted to try buying DC Universe Online from AWD knowing that if the code had been used Amazon's customer service would probably take care of me, but ultimately found a (supposedly) brand new, sealed copy on Glyde for ~$48 shipped.

Nice just got my PlayStation Move controller in the mail today..brand new never opened and even the box is in excellent shape. There are just a few extremely light scratches on the plastic packaging.

So 3 out of 5 controllers I have bought so far have been sealed and two opened that look like they've never been used. I've gotten Wii Remote Plus X2 and now this sealed. The Wii Remote Plus boxes had minor creases. I got a Move Navigation controller and a Wii Classic Controller Pro that were not sealed but looked unused.

Alright. Karma must be getting me back for doing something wrong sometime or other. I got in the PS3 family bundle I was waiting for today. It was supposed to be in used-LIKE NEW condition. It was NOT.

The system was unceremoniously dumped into the box between the two cardboard end pieces they come in from the factory. There wasn't even a piece of that plastic shit wrapped around the console. It also had scuffs/scrapes on the top part of the case, as if someone was banging their crack pipe off it to clean it out.:whistle2:# On top of all of that it was dusty as hell.

But I could've lived with all of that if Amazon would've given me a partial refund for the scrapes/scuffs. However, the system itself is a dud. I had to hold down the power button to reset it to output in HDMI mode, so when I did a message popped up saying that the hard disk was corrupted and needed to be restored.

The restore operation got stuck at 45% the first time and the system restarted, saying again that I needed to restore it. That next time it got stuck at 48% and restarted. The third time it finally went all the way through after about 10 minutes, but when it restarted it said the hard disk was corrupted again.

So apparently someone beat the piss out of this thing for a month or so and then returned it. Just my luck...

Gonna email/call Amazon now about getting a return slip for it cuz no way in hell am I keeping this turd.

I'm also going to jot down the serial # in the event I ever decide to take another chance on an AWD console and they try sending me this thing again.

Why not just use the online return form? Its usually easier and quicker than trying to contact anyone. Amazon CS is good but still easier to just submit the return online. That is unless they want you to call in video game systems to return. I've returned several games from AWD and the only one it made me call in is when there was a different game inside the case. Any games in bad condition I just filled out a form in a couple seconds and printed out the return label.

Personally it would take a REALLY good deal to get me to order a system from warehouse deals. I just don't trust used systems from sources like them even if you can return them easily. I'd have to be getting like half off msrp at least. I just buy games and accessories.
man amazon needs to step it up with securing returns.
It's too bad they don't have a way to remove scratches on consoles or run system diagnostics in a way to ensure people get consoles comparable to how they get like new games. I'd be like, "Where my family bundle at!?"

That's the good thing about the PS3 though, in that the games are on Blu-Ray and are pretty hard to scratch. But I've still found games that had either tons of scratches on them or were actually resurfaced.

The worst part about buffed PS3 discs is they end up 10x worse than a CD for taking on new scratches. Even if there's a tiny piece of lint on the disc and you go to brush it off gently and it's been resurfaced, chances are it'll make a scratch on it.

Your post about getting a douched PS3 have me worried about my bundle. I'm tempted to cancel, since it's not expected to be 'in stock' until the 23rd.

From here on out I think I'm just buying new consoles(and hoping someone didn't pull a switcheroo on that) and only from B&M retail chains, since I don't want to take another chance like this.

But on the upside I picked up a console only 360 yesterday that has the E-74 from a local shop for $20. It had 4 days left on the extended warranty for RROD/E-74, so I called up MS and they're sending me a pre-paid label to ship it to them. Hopefully getting some cables for it and a wired/wireless controller won't set me back too much. So now at least I'll have a choice between the 360 or PS3 for my gaming once I get it back.

Now that PS3s (not just PSN accounts) are getting banned because of the current hacks, I would be very wary in buying a used one from WHD or anywhere really.

I would assume people are going to start trading them in the coming days, since they will turn on and play games, but you won't be able to go online with it.

Got a question, when you buy a ps3 from AWH, does it still get covered by Sony warranty? I'm guessing not right? but most of the time the item is new?

got my kinect that i ordered last week for 110, it was untouched. the round tamper proof sticker was never even cut or removed.
DAMN! I woulda been all over that.
It actually pops up relatively often for that price. The game doesn't seem to be nearly as valuable as it used to be.

Considering the last ones that sold on ebay went for $35-45, after fees, what's the point?

low price (since you said 35-45, $25 is pretty good), reliable seller, no tax, and prime.

You know they are reprinting that and it's value has fallen drastically right?

Be lucky to make $10 after cost of resale.

Is the PS3 banning going to take effect only for consoles only currently hacked or do they have a way of determining if they've ever been hacked? I bought mine second hand, and I'm a bit worried. It had been wiped completely clean when I got it, but he said that he was selling it to get an xbox because a recent firmware update messed up his hack.

Umm that would be odd considering I have that page monitored and it never showed any stock. Also if it was $25 they jacked up their price. You must be talking about 3rd party seller?

I still have my Tetris DS taht I bought at launch, and I didn't even know that it was considered "valuable."

I know the price is good, but he bought 2 to resell them, like he did when they first came out and he bought 10.

I had a copy once that came with a DS system I bought. I put the Tetris DS up on eBay and easily sold it for somewhere between $50-60. This was a couple years ago and its not worth so much anymore.

Hey, does anyone put any TV deals in here??? Looking for a nice 1080p set hopefully in the 32" range. Have $350 to spend. Can anyone help me out???

I don't know if their TV deals are any good? I've looked at other stuff on AWD occasionally but I never saw any good prices except on games.
LittleBigPlanet GOTY for USD18 - Used - Like New, is it worth it?
I'm playing it right now, actually I bought my copy off AWD for the same price last week. I would definitely say its worth it. Its has a shit load of DLC on it:

(From a Amazon reviewer)
- 18 user-created levels developed especially for the GOTY
- 3 sticker packs
- 16 new costumes
- the complete Metal Gear Solid set of levels that includes trophy levels and never-seen-before weapons such as the Paintinator
Does anyone see PSP's often on AWD?

I see the PSP Go, but really don't have an interest in it.
I wouldnt say often but they do pop up
