F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, generally like new items.

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes, All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and almost in perfect condition. Any game i have personally ever bought has in like new condition. However, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken

I'm waiting for the 360 slim, or ps3 to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

This is what I normally do, but it never works with AWD's games for me.

Really? That's odd, I just got a bunch of games in last week and that worked fine as always. Mine have been on 360, DS and GBA games; maybe they use different stickers on stuff?

Its seems to me that if the sticker looks likes it new/ just put on recently, it comes of really easy but if it looks older that is when I get all the residue

i usually dab the residue with the sticker as well, looks perfect after - lair, fable II, and red steel came the mail yesterday and i had a fairly easy time taking the stickers off.

With the sticker situation at least with the new big squareish looking ones. I peel it off and what ever sticker residue it leaves I use put the sticker over it and pull until everything is removed. This method for me has worked pretty well, it didn't really work for me when they used to use the smaller thinner stickers.
I heard the game kinda sucks
i was worried about that, i didnt really even want it but i was ordering a headset drunk and added that to the order for some reason.

i did a chat w/ an amazon rep about used prices being same or even more expensive than new ones.
She said she will have AW pricing dept. look into it.

Maybe if more of us complain the prices drop to older rates?

Might be wishful thinking but hey, why not give it a chance.

btw, i think its just a sellers market right now w/ amazon. TIVs have been higher the past week and a half.

When she said she'd have the AW pricing department look into it, she meant she'd note the email as AW's problem and get off the phone.

The AW pricing department will base their prices on what sells, not that you think the used games are the same or higher as the new ones.

If they sold 30 used copies at $20 and 30 new copies at $20, all the used copies are gonna stay at $20.
I highly reccomend AXPro. Althought it has proprietary plugs...it's awesome. best headset I've ever bought and I paid $149 for it.
After watching and reading reviews, I eventually decided to take the plunge. I just wished it had 2 optic link inputs for my 360 and PS3.

I'm having a pretty crappy streak of getting broken games or systems with missing items from AWD recently. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this headset comes in "like new" as stated.
I found that peeling a corner of the sticker and then just ripping it off quickly helps a lot.
That only works for band-aids!

The sticker on my copy of Enchanted Arms looked old as hell, and took me probably 12 minutes to get it all off, even using Goo-Gone. Ironic because I took the copy that was $1 or $2 more because it said "like new", I should have taken the cheap "acceptable" one. But the ones on my Disgaea and Singularity came off easy

I've never had any trouble with the stickers. 70% of the time the sticker comes off completely. 25%: mostly comes off, leaves some residue behind - use adhesive remover and rub off.

The last 5% is when only the top layer of the sticker comes off or otherwise part of the sticker is there and not just residue. In this case I cover what is left with adhesive remover. Rubbing off at this point would be difficult and take a long time. However, after the remaining layers of the sticker soak up the adhesive remover it is now pretty easy to peel off what is left. Sometimes it comes off cleanly and sometimes it leaves residue behind. If there is some residue left just add a little more adhesive remover and wipe off.

The new PSP Final Fantasy Dissidia is up there, like new, for $24. Unfortunately it's only $28 new.

Lame. I'm sure I'll be able to find it on sale for under $20 soon enough. Was really hoping this game would show up on AWD for ~$17.
Ugh. AWD sucks now. I'm going back to ebay.
True, I gave up on my PS3 Killzone 3 bundle for $223. I saw it last night go up to $296. I used all my credit on a home theater system already for my other PS3. its getting here on friday.

Good. Less competition when it goes back to being awesome.

And obviously I'll be back when it goes back to being awesome. Till then, ebay it is.

Just a note of caution to some people on here. I have Amazon Prime and I make a LOT of purchases on Amazon (including Warehouse Deals). I've made many purchases off Warehouse Deals recently (NOT for resale), and I got this message this morning from Amazon:

"Thank you for being a valued Amazon Prime member.

We are writing to you as we have concerns regarding the ordering behavior on your Prime account. The shipping activity by you or your invitees is similar to patterns we've seen when Amazon Prime is used for reselling (as described in our Terms & Conditions).

I haven't been buying large quantities of the same items - but I have been buying a lot of games from WHD, so I just wanted to put this out there in case anyone else might be in the same boat (aem? hehe). Hope it helps somehow. I'm not too worried about the Amazon Prime, but this part does concern me a little:

"We also reserve the right to seek re-payment of applicable shipping charges."

Considering the number of games I've bought off Warehouse Deals since I've had Prime, this could add up to a LOT hehe :)

do you have multiple shipping addresses? I dont see why they would care about quantity of items purchased. As long theyre moving out inventory, im sure amazon doesnt care; now using them to ship out items for you is a different story.

Yep. I've seen the price cycles happen maybe twice so far? But when they drop again, we'll be able to get a couple good deals before the non-believers start flocking back and singing AWD's praises.

I'm not a lawyer and don't claim to know much about contracts but I'd really like to see how they can make the argument that you owe them shipping charges. There is nothing in the terms and conditions that states that.

99% of the time everything goes to 1 address. Occasionally, I'll have it ship to my home address instead of work, but rarely.

A week or two ago, a bunch of items dropped in WHD at $0.01 each, and I bought a bunch (really random stuff, non-video game related), and I'm betting this has something to do with that, since they essentially lost money on those items. They would have been better off to just throw them away, heh.

I sent them an e-mail stating I didn't purchase for resale, and to let me know if there's anything specific I should keep in mind --- I'll post their response when it comes.

They would be stupid to cancel my Prime membership, because I spend an exhorbitant amount of money on Amazon, hehe :)

I ended up buying a 4-Pack since i didn't want to miss out on this. Loved this game too much and want to play it again on PC.
i picked up a near mint used copy of dead rising 2 for 20 bucks, is that good?
I got it (PS3 version) from gamefly used a couple of weeks ago for $20 and thought it was a great deal.

I like the game too (I haven't played the original - no 360), but the load times suck (my biggest complaint - and most people's too).

Haha I haven't gotten that e-mail yet. I've been more concerned about getting banned for returns after the mass banning they did a few years ago. I'd say my rate of returns are low given the amount of stuff I order, but the quantity may seem high. I've returned 9 AWD games over the past two months. All returns have been due to their mistake though such as damage in transit to boxed games due to poor packaging, unreadable discs, wrong game discs, or in one case a game was missing the instruction booklet.

I've kept several like new games that were not close to like new that I would have preferred to return just because I'm scared of being banned.

What was the mass banning about? And what's the threshold for "too many" returns, if it's known?

The bans seemed to be about returns and any kind of threshold is not known. This was a huge deal when it happened 2-3 years ago. I've read of a person occasionally getting banned since then because of returns, but they have not done another mass banning since then.

Man, that's scary. Nothing worse than getting banned from Amazon. I've heard talk of banning for too many returns, and just the thought of that alone stops me from making any returns lol.

I have noticed expensive electronics mentioned most of the time in these discussions so bans may primarily be to people who have returned TV's and other valuable items. But there are reports of people being banned for returning a very low number of items.

Man, that's crazy. Amazon has to look at the amount spent vs. returned and see if a ban is truly worth it. I won't believe that Amazon took irrational action towards people with low returns. There is always a reason.
