F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

California
Connecticut

Florida
Georgia
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky

Maryland

Massachusetts
Nevada
New Jersey

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

AWD product description says "Factory Sealed", is this item new?
First and foremost, AWD sells used / open box items so in their terms it has been sealed / resealed at an Amazon Warehouse and hence the "Factory Sealed" part so no it isn't necessarily new. It isn't necessarily new because it could go one of two ways:

1. It was traded in / open box return / test unit that was resealed at an Amazon warehouse facility.
2. It was a dinger (new with damaged packaging and with seals intact).

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

I got offered a job at an Amazon warehouse three and a half years ago. I didn't take it, but apparently they put through all the paperwork to hire me, and now I regularly get emails about my W-2s and benefits updates.
Maybe you have a stack of uncollected paychecks too. ;)

Probably for the best since it sounds like they treat them terribly.

Supreme Court Rules Against Worker Pay for Screenings in Amazon Warehouse Case

The Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled unanimously that a temp agency was not required to pay workers at Amazon warehouses for the time they spent waiting to go through a security screening at the end of the day. The workers say the process, meant to prevent theft, can take as long as 25 minutes.

... all I want is a XBox One Controller
And to stay on topic: why is it that there are no Vitas once my money gets right? Booo.
Borderlands Vita bundles just popped up for $147. I grabbed one; one left.

Downloadable content "may require additional purchase." I didn't care about Borderlands anyway; I just wanted a Slim and a memory card.

And I swear to Batman, if this is the same system I returned that had ONLY the system, I'm crackin' skulls.

I went through a similar thing while working at a WEA Manufacturing plant back in the early 2000's. It sucked.
It's pretty common.

Getting paid *is* the exception.

My dad worked for Boeing in the 60's-70's, same thing. It's why they staggered start/end times. (that and 1000+ people leaving work at once... insane traffic jam in parking lot)

FYI for anyone thinking of picking up a Nitro Magna Charge, I tried to order it from Warehouse Deals THREE TIMES, and each time it got cancelled because the order mysteriously "couldn't be fulfilled."

I finally just ordered from a third-party seller for a couple bucks more.

Stop pretending to be me.

So it looks like I missed another by several hours and a couple of pages... Do they often post new listings in the middle of the night like that? If so, I'll probably never get one. :(

When I look on the page for the controller there is a message that says "Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available" but there isn't actually anywhere to click to "sign up." What am I missing here?

$35 for a pre-owned controller doesn't sound that great to me. $35 was a pretty common deal for a new one a couple months ago. I would imagine you'll see those prices pop back up soon.

That the sign-up doesn't work for AWD items.

Thanks, I hope so. It's just that I broke my first controller (on the way to Microsoft for replacement since it's still under warranty) so I'm borderline desperate!

@Carlanga: Thanks, that makes sense I guess.

Have you checked cowboom? They have some day one controllers starting at 32.xx. I bought one there a couple months back and am pretty happy.

Hmm, thanks. Wasn't aware of that site and I see you can pay with Amazon (I assume credit too?) which is nice. The best they have is Fair or Satisfactory condition for $32-34 at the moment and $5.24 shipping kinda kills the deal at that condition. I will keep an eye out there as well though.

Edit: Oops another $2 for tax and I can't use my Amazon credit (just CC linked to Amazon account) so that definitely kills it for me.

I snagged one of the PB ones and I'd have to personally say I was disappointed. The peanut butter ratio is just off. Too much peanut butter and I like peanut butter. Would have been happier if it was the original instead. Maybe that's why all of these boxes are so close to expiration hah.

Alright you Vita bums. I've recently decided that I need to have one, thanks to PS+ and remote play possibilities. I keep seeing that there are a lot of Vita options out there. What's going to be the best bang for my buck? What is the difference between the models (not just the 3g... don't care about that and will never use it)? If there is a more appropriate thread, someone can point me in that direction as well, but I have grown to rely on some of you AWD junkies' opinions on things, and thought it may be appropriate to ask here. Thanks.

OG vita has OLED screen, proprietary cable, slightly bulkier.
Slim has LCD screen, microSD cable, obviously slim. Those are main differences.

Simple question to answer:

- Buy the fat Vita (1000 model) if you want a more colorful (and perceptively, slightly sharper) screen and better potential at hacking (given that the previous owner didn't update their console). I highly recommend some silicone sleeve or a polycarbonate case as increasing the thickness of this Vita will help your hands wrap around it as you don't get much room for your fingers on the back thanks to the back touch screen.

- The slim Vita (2000) has an LCD screen which is less colorful but still retains 95% of the fat model's sharpness. It has a couple hours more of battery life and is thinner, lighter, and easier to handle since the back touch screen is smaller. It also ditches the proprietary USB port and adds 1GB of internal memory (not the proprietary memory, sorry)

That explains why I couldn't find the 1000 model USB cable in stores. I had no idea they discontinued it for the latest model.
