Naruto 170 is up, about less than an hour ago.
I haven't watched since 162. I'm just now watching Bleach 63-64.
Your loss. Your punishment is the continuing mediocrity of Naruto!
I could care less about Monster at this point as I wasn't asking for a suggestion for what to watch. Shoving the damn show down my throat isn't going to get me to watch it any sooner, in fact, I care less and less about watching it the more it happens. I've got enough to watch at the moment, so I'm not in need of anything else to watch for a while. I'll ask you for your opinion when I want it, otherwise, keep it to yourself.
I haven't watched since 162. I'm just now watching Bleach 63-64.
On a side note, if you're just talking about the hour episode, it only counts as 63 in the grand scheme of things apparently. I found that out when the new ED (which is subsequently scary as all hell yet awesome at the same time) didn't start at the end of the "double" episode.

On another note, some people just need to stop flipping out over every little thing it seems. Sure, you weren't asking for suggestions Crash, but you should know by now that Kirin will push Monster no matter what, because quite frankly, it's a show that deserves the recognition that Naruto gets, especially considering it blows Naruto out of the water quality wise. But just as respectively, Kirin should know that Crash is very...picky...about what he watches. If you look at some of the crap he enjoys, he's very shonen-action-fest-oriented. He likes DBZ. He likes DB. He likes Naruto. He enjoys the action-fests a lot more than the more truly thought-provoking animes like Monster. Everyone just needs to chill out if you ask me.

On a final random note, Shakugan no SHANA, now that I've actually started watching it, is actually really interesting. The art style takes a bit getting used to, but I'm really enjoying it now, although I'm only two episodes in so far. Yet another anime I can toss onto my pile of stuff to watch, including Monster, Chrono Crusade, Flame of Recca, Paranoia Agent, and who knows what else I've started and not finished. Though Monster and SHANA are probably the two I'm most interested in watching more of, with Chrono Crusade not too far behind.

Yeah. 63 is the recap episode along with the end of the Soul Society arc. 64 through 66 so far has been the filler arc. I actually haven't watched the filler yet, but from the bits I've flipped through, it doesn't seem too bad. Though I sorta guessed the big "spoiler" from 66 due to the world's freakiest ED. 68 and 69 I've heard are supposed to either both be hour long specials airing the same day or just together as a 1 hour special. Then 70 is SUPPOSED to be the end of the filler, based solely on the title of the episode, but something tells me that spoiler is just going to return sooner and start a new filler arc, due to the fact that the other villainy looking people in the ED haven't showed up yet.

I recently saw a few episodes of Samurai Champloo on Adult Swim, and now I'm getting those. Looked pretty good from what I saw...

I honestly think they could get away with starting the new arc in that the manga is in right now once they finish up this filler arc.

*SPOILERS*

They could probably easily do up to the end of the Ichigo-Grimmjow fight, and then go into another filler arc that could last a couple weeks (4-6 episodes) and then by that point, the manga should be sufficiently far enough to continue the Arrakar arc a little bit further. Who knows though. We'll see what happens at 70.

It's a pet peeve of mine. I don't like people telling me what to watch and then insulting what I do watch, which is stupid to do if you want to people to go your way. It's not like I don't know about the damn show, as Kirin's posted about it far enough that if any regular poster here hasn't heard of it, then they've failed at life. I've got it in my future torrents folder for when I've got the time and HD space to watch it and I don't need someone telling me to watch it like I have no clue about the show. If I was so picky, I wouldn't give every damn anime that AS shows or any anime I hear good things about in mags and around the net a shot. I enjoy my action shows, but I also enjoy the sports shows, comedy shows, "normal life" shows, and whatever else interests me. Then again, you're one to talk about "taste."

We watched some of shakugan no shana inthe anime club and it was good for the most part, though I don't care much for the monster design.
169 and 170 have already made this the best arc of filler thus far.
I'm seriously considering skipping right up to this arc from all the filler I've skipped. Last I saw was the bug arc. Nothing else has seemed really interesting, and Anko has always been one of my favorite characters on Naruto.

I've been watching select episodes from the filler stuff, and none of them have seemed interesting yet, so I just decided to say screw it for now and dl some other stuff like Bleach and Berserk.

I couldn't get myself to skip the filler, but it definitely wasn't worth watching, IMO. The last arc they had was just terrible, and drug on and on. But, I agree that Anko is just damn cool, and she's making this one interesting. (Delving into her memories of Oorochimaru..) And, in 170, you get to see Sasuke! (Briefly)

Ok, I haven't watch the raw for Mai Otome Ep 17 yet, but I'm going to think might happen:

- Showdown between Natsuki and Shizuru vs Aswald. Perhaps we get to see Natsuki's robe this time around since Shizuru vs Aswald seems a bit unbalance in the fight. However, they may also not end up fighting or have a rather short fight when they are somehow interrupted and realize they are not each other's enemies. Probably not in this episode when they realized that.

- We see some action from Nina and Arika (and whoever else is in their robes) against these flying enemies.

- Tomoe will attack Arika when the opportunity present itself. Assuming she is the one who got the black letter from last episodes (hey, it could be Erstin for all we know), Tomoe will now be able to activate her robe (not the coral, maybe some random one as seen in the new opening) at will and tries to kill Arika.

- Masiro might be in danger (perhaps from Tomoe), and Arika will need to use her Meister Robe. Therefore, everyone else will see the contract made between Masiro and Arika. This probably won't happen in this episode though, since we still got another 10 episodes left.

- If the fighting continues beyond this episode, then we might see our long waited character coming back in episode 18, but it still seem early to brink her back though.

That's pretty much it. I didn't really have time to figure how this is going to work out, but most of these will probably come into play eventually. Can't wait until tomorrow comes around.

I'm fairly sure that Aswald and Galderobe are going to be teaming up by the end of this episode. The new OP really throws that into our face.

And Orochimaru, too.

well the Anko Arc is interestin, they used the neechan plot over and over now, where naruto befriends someone and they are involved in the big bad and he must save them with his way of the ninja. I just dont know how I feel that they might be screwin up a kishi story. WHo knows he might have had something planned with Oro and Anko, but now it might be a no go. Rumors are circulatin that Gaiden is the next arc, but I am not holding my breath.

No, unless the stretch this arc out. My guess is this one will end within 5 eps then they'll either have another mini-arc or just a couple bs eps w/ konohamaru or something.

I don't know that she's even appeared since the exams. :whistle2:k

I expect one more arc before the gaiden.

How many episodes are in the R.O.D. TV series?

Edit: D'oh. didn't evewn think of Google til now. apparantly there's 26.

I was searching eBay and saw listings for all 26 eps, and wasn't sure if that was the whole series or not.

I loved the OVA, so I thought I'd pick it up along with the TV series and probably the manga when it arrives.

Edit 2: Thanks Sub.

Amazon is selling the complete set for 180, so if I can get it for 36 on eBay (even if it is pirated- although listing says factory sealed 3 disc set) I'm happy.

I was heartened to see somebody express interest in R.O.D The TV, which is a fantastic show, but immediately let down to see that you planned on picking up a bootleg. If you're not going to support the official release, download it. Don't give bootleggers your money.

There's no way I'm going to pay 180 dollars to support the release, and I don't have the means to dowbload it.

Yep. I could see the opening scene now.

Fade in to an ad for a love doll.

From here we cut to an idealic looking suburb, the nice, pristine looking suburb that looks like it jumped out of a 50's sitcom.

A delivery truck enters the frame, and stops. A delivery man steps out of the truck, carrying a box nearly as large as he is... it is emblazoned with the name of the company as seen in the ad.

He paces to the door briskly, reaches out his arm and rings the bell.

A shabby looking twenty-something with gel-coated hair steps opens the door, grabs the clipboard the delivery man is foisting upon him, grabs the box, and disappears back into his home.

Cut to the inside of the house:

The camera follows the young man walking though his home, stepping over a pile of empty pizza boxes and beer bottles, as he makes his way through a hallway decorated with a half completed mosiac crafted from pieces of pinups, centerfolds and other images cut from magazines that leads towards the back of house.

He opens the door to his room, and as he enters, we see a pile of unwashed clothes at the end of his bed, and a desk littered with a pile of porno mags and an open box of razorblades, with a couple of cut out photos sitting next to the pile of magazines.

(Zoom in on box of razorblads and pile of magazines.)

The young man hastily opens the box, revealing a 4.5 foot tall love doll, with somewhat goofy looking open mouth. He looks it over, and then tosses it into his pile of unwashed clothes.

The man leaves the room and closes the door. The camera stays focused on the bedroom door, and we hear rustling coming from the room.

The young man, shot from behind, enters back into the frame, now naked and holding a jar of vasoline... he enters the room, and closes the door behind him.

The entire scene goes silent, but is then pierced by and earsplitting scream.

The screen fades to black, and a splash screen comes up, with the title "EVIL LOVE DOLL"

In Terrors From the Clit #2 (obviously NSFW) there is a scene with Gauge called "The Evil Love Doll". Basically a blow-up doll sees it's owner with a real woman (and another guy, if you want to get technical) and in a fit of jealousy murders them all with a kitchen knife. After they finish doing their thing, of course. It's all rather comical.

If you would actualy bother looking it can be found cheaper elsewhere.

Otherwise, may you burn in hell with the bootleggers you support.

That might be a bit much, but even if he has a dial-up connection, he has a means to get the show!

Personally, I'd wait for another Geneon sale at Rightstuf. That'll knock it down by a good 40%, and R.O.D is definitely worth that, if not the full price. Oh, and there's also DDD's 20%-off sale. Stupid expensive Geneon sets... I'll be paying out the butt for Gankutsuou when that finally gets a collection, no doubt.

Just watched the latest Mai Otome. The series is starting to take a darker turn, similar to Mai Hime. The writers definitely threw us off (although a small part of me expected it). Can't wait until Saturday.

I'll write a bit more after I get more sleep tonight.

*Mai Otome Spoilers*

I don't particularly feel Erstin was in the wrong in what she did. The technology of Galderobe could possibly allow for there to be less wars, and all she wanted was that technology to be shared with everyone. Nina, on the other hand, was nothing but a fucking bitch. I honestly didn't expect that ending. I figured somehow Nina and Arika would fight, but not because of what Nina did to Ers.

No need to be an asshole about it. I just said I was considering it, since I can't download it and don't have the money to buy the actual set.

Damn.

Yeah, but Nina just completely over-reacted to finding out that Sergay was paying for Arika's tuition. I get where she's coming from, but accepting Nagi and the Ultimate Black Diamond wasn't the right idea. Quite frankly, she shouldn't have been trying, as you put it, to "fuck up Arika". So it is her fault.

good stuff, looks like a pretty thick plot so far. I'm debating whether I should procrastinate and go through a few more episodes.
