I've had 2 of my preorders cancelled. I chose ship to home, though. I used a gift card on one and RZ cert on the other. I don't know if this had anything to do with it. I've preordered 3 games online and 2 of those 3 ended up being cancelled. Who knows?
 
I got an email with a code for $10 off, for cancelling my Gears pre-order. I dont care whether or not I need/like a game, from now on I am going to preorder every fucking game at BBY :)

Are you sure it's really cancelled? I got the cancelation email but when I log into my account the order seems to still looks ok.

Got the same email. What's crazy is that I decided to preorder Gears that day. Just made the game cheaper for me so I'm good.

So Gears UE isn't eligible anymore? I sure hope so since I could've been able to get it for $27 before $10 cert. Do you guys think Destiny TTK Legendary will have $10 cert?
 
i cancelled my order the day they said the bonus was a mistake, and they still sent me the $10. though ironically it expires a week before gears comes out. this totally makes up for cancelling my gift card orders*

What do you guys use your reward certificates on? Do you buy Video Games or other stuff with them. The reason I ask is, for me, I do not buy anything video game related with them because then I can get other stuff cheaper. Like yesterday I bought a nice Laser Printer for $40 with a $50 certificate and a movers coupon. 

 
Usually I just bank them and use them on a large purchase. When I first started shopping at BB, I would use the Cert on the next game with a Cert, sort of like the old Kmart coupon train(RIP). Saving up until Black Friday seems like a great idea, might do that. Since I'm Elite Plus and get the early deals at BB, all my friends and family have me order everything for them. Seriously last year, I spent over $1200, and that was before I ordered anything for myself. I still have five sealed games from my BB Black Friday purchase last year. Lol. That's OK most of them still haven't been cheaper.

I use them whenever I'm going to buy something I'm at least 90% sure will not get a price match in the near future, just to cut down on the complications. I rarely use them on new release games, for example, but I have no issue using them on credit movers and such. I usually bank until a good deal of the day I want comes around.

In the end, if you're generally buying with gift cards, it's just another form of payment. If you're buying with real money, it's marginally better to use them as soon as you can (better to have money in your bank account or not earning interest on a credit card (not including point multiplier promos that might tip it back the other way)). Also, if you happen to be shopping somewhere with a tax rate higher than your home store, better to use certificates. But, unless we are talking hundreds of dollars in certs, the difference is negligible and really just personal preference in my opinion.
 
So gears getting $10 reward certainly was a mistake, and best buy just decided to cancel all the existing pre orders, and send them the $10 gift card anyway? Seems weird. They couldn't just grandfather us in and not let future people get the certs? Well ok. I may wait on gears now and pick it up when people are selling the digital pack in code cheaply.

I had canceled my Gears Of War when they removed the certificate. I just received an email that they canceled my order, and were giving me the $10 credit anyway. Interesting. I am tempted to pick it up now, but may possibly wait for Metal Gear.

I don't use it on pre-orders or game's that I assume that will come on sale because then it's a pain to get a proper price adjustment since the certificate knocks $ off the initial cost of the game.

I will just save them up for Black Friday or I use them on games that are on sale in their weekly ad.

 
Yeah I use my certs on deep discounted game deals only.  I've noticed that price adjustments for purchases using RZ certs are not always 100% credited properly.  I've had to email BB CS in the past to get my points back.

I'll use certs on deals like when they had the DOTD on DA: I recently.

 
I really regret not preordering gears last weekend when I was planning on it. I was waiting for my points to finally go out of pending which took like 3 weeks. Getting a $10 coupon out of it would have helped with buying it or anything else this fall
 
Emailed BB since I never got credited on a price adjustment (MLB $19.99 -> $15.99) even though a CSR said I would over the phone.

"I'm sorry but the request was not granted because you used a reward certificate on the purchase. Please be guided that price match guarantee is applicable only if the payment does not include any promotional coupons such as reward certificate."

I could have swore Lego dimensions was on the list,I knew nothing about this game and just randomly saw the portal trailer for it and now I want it lol, it looks to be pretty good,I have always been against these "buy the game then have to buy all these toys to go with it" kind of things but I have a question if someone doesn't mind giving input, will Lego work like the other ones? How quickly does things like this usually drop in price? I wouldn't mind waiting lol, I'm new to this stuff so will lego be different in any way?
 
I just preordered Talos Principle on PS4 and was given a $10 gift card.  It added itself to my cart without me doing anything.  So, if anyone wants Talos Principle for $40 with GCU and get a $10 gift card by mail, best do it while this offer is live.

I got quite a few of them pre ordered when that glitch happened where they all came out half off. So in a sense getting many for 20-25 day 1.
 
Fun question, if I pre-order F1 2015 in store today do I get the $10 gift card too or is that an online only thing?

only specific games get it, F1 is not part of the promotion.

If you get a promotional game that is apart of the deal, you can do in store or online.

He didn't ask if it got the $10 rewards, he asked about a $10 gift card...Online it lists if you order F1 you get a $10 gift card, but as far as I could tell this was not listed in the weekly ad and the website does not state it is valid in store.

 
For those who got the $10 off for the Gears of War stuff, did you contact Best Buy or just get the email with it from them automatically?  My order was cancelled and then reinstated on the 17th but that's been it so far.

Honestly I wouldn't have even known that the $10 promo was gone if I hadn't come in here.
