Just an FYI, that trade in is $6 currently. If the value holds and you beat game quick enough, $7.60 profit to "rent" the game (after 100% promo and 10% unlocked).

I played about halfway through neverdead and got bored. Not the worst game, but far from "good." My vote for absolute worst is Duke Nukem.

From the videos I've seen of it, it reminded me a little bit of Stubbs The Zombie on Xbox. I used to get a kick out of using his head as a rolling grenade in that game.

So if it's anything like that I'll probably have just enough fun to play through the game.

I have a buddy very slowly achievement whoring the game who throws a fit every time I consider getting rid of it. I definitely don't think it's a great game, but every time I load it up, it's been patched again (did so about a month ago), and is more enjoyable than before. If we'd played it as it is now when we first bought it (I was day 1), I doubt we'd be quite so harsh on it. I think most people would enjoy it for five bucks, if their expectations aren't high.

The mediocre reviews come mostly from the $40 launch price of the 3DS version (given that it's a stripped down port of last generation's Chaos Theory).

I'm a casual Splinter Cell series fan, but for $5 new, I too am willing to look past the review scores and give the handheld port a chance.

I got it on day 1 as well and it just felt like a generic shooter. The AI are tough as shit too. Its got problems but I wouldn't say it's the worst shooter I've played.

I wouldn't buy it. I know it's only $5 but I couldn't really stand it at all. 3D was unpleasant and it seems the engine itself was poorly ported so graphics and muddy and dark. I will usually buy/recommend any game for $5 but not this one, it's simply a very poor port.

I disagree. It definitely has all sorts of problems, but as a big Splinter Cell fan, I was still able to enjoy it. For $5, I bet most people will find more fun with this game than Steel Diver or Nintendogs.

Have they patched the friendly AI in the single player? That's my biggest concern, playing 1 vs 8 and having to do everything myself seems like a recipe for frustration, but if they've fixed that I'm good to go.

Better then steel diver or nintendogs? Sure, but that's not saying much. The original game (Chaos Theory) is not the problem, it's the 3DS port. The engine is just dreadful and just makes the whole situation an unfun mess. Find a cheap copy of the Xbox original (or PS3 port) instead, you'll have a much better time.
