I just picked up Chronicles of Riddick, Evil Genius and one that isnt in the OP, Homeworld 2. All in pristine condition and all $3.99
Thanks for the heads-up on the new games! I picked up The Bard's Tale last night. I've heard it's a good game in its own right, but more importantly for me, it includes the 3 old-school Bard's Tale games, which I remember wasting hours upon hours on back in the day. That makes this $4 well spent.
I bought that myself JUST for the Bard's Tale original trilogy. I already have the fame on PS2.
Demonstone $5.99
Silent Hill 4 $5.99
I added Demonstone to the ML, but Silent Hill 4 was listed in the original Big Lots thread (see OP for link).

Since that thread is fairly old, I may just cut and paste the games here...

Thanks again for the contributions!

Hooray for me! I was lucky today and picked up 4 limited ed Lupin the Third DVD bonus packs w/ the free figurine and Choro-Q attached for $3.99 ea. Retail price on the bonus packs is $34.98, not that I'd ever pay close to that. I got a Lupin (vol 7), a Fujiko (vol 9), and 2 Jigens (vol 8). If anyone picks up an extra Lupin Choro-Q and DVD bonus pack, I'll trade you that one for my Jigen bonus pack.

Thanks for this post, as I was able get the Escape from Butcher Bay for 4 dollars today. Been wanting to play this game, but never see it in the stores anymore.

I have a Big Lots thats about 5 miles from me and didn't see anything interesting last time i was there. I'd love to find that SE version of Unreal 2 there though!

Ok, I'm amateur in terms of PC gaming, but I did see Riddick and knew it was a sweet deal. I also go Max Payne 2, being an MP fan.

After a quick look at the list in the first post, I think I have a few games to add:

Alexander - $4
Deus Ex: Invisible War - $5
Hidden and Dangerous 2 - $6

Scrapland was priced at $5 at mine, by the way.

I saw Commandos 3: Destination Berlin the other day. Don't remember the price though. I think it was $4.99

I saw these at the Riverside, OH store. I want to say all these were $4.99, but I'm not certain.

Icewind Dale II
Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne
The Political Machine
Virtual Pool 3

Scored me Political Machine, Space Colony (Good fun for a budget RTS/development ish title.), Riddick, and Tribes Vengeance for $3.99 each (Except for PM, which was $4.99).

Add to the list
Locomotion $4.99 or 3.99 (some game from the creator of Roller Coaster Tycoon, atleast thats what it said on the box)
Gladiator Sword of Vengance. $5.99
Rayman 3-pack $5.99
Shadow Watch $3.99

I think these are the only ones that I saw there that weren't already on the list. Some other random puzzle games, don't know if anyone cares.

Today I picked up...

Legacy of Kain: Defiance

Dark Age of Camelot

Evil Genius

Silent Hill 4: The Room

They are all up for trade, I was mainly looking for Tribes Vengance, A Bard's Tale and a few others...

Space Colony is a blast by the way. Definitely worth the price.

Tribes Vengeance has an interesting SP, no MP to speak of (It isn't interesting and nobody plays it.). Julia sucks as a deathmatch diva/princess compared to UC2's Selket, but that's just my opinion. Worth the buy.

Riddick is insanely good. BUY IT WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT, but only if your computer is mighty.

RIDDICK IS fuckING AMAZING!

Easily one of the most innovative first-person games I've played, and also one of the best controlling. There's nothing like darting up to a guard in the darkness and slicing him up on all sides before he even knows you're there, or sneaking up behind a guard and quickly running in front of him, grabbing his shotgun, and forcing it under his own jaw before pulling the trigger. Seriously, the melee combat is intense.

Just one thing to say: The THIEF series. :)

- A Thief Snob...

Go play the later Splinter Cells. They almost live up to Thief. ;)

Anyway, don't be SUCH a snob, Riddick boosts some excellent and visceral first person fisticuffs (and stealth kills befitting a dude who likes getting his hands dirty.)

Granted though, Thief 2 was a bajillion flavors of awesome.

The Xbox version of Riddick has the best graphics of any Xbox game I've played. Quite possibly the best Xbox game, period. I imagine the PC version is just as good, and looks better. A sequel on the 360 with some multiplayer action would be killer.

Riddick is gorgeous on the PC, just has some issues with too much in the way of shadows, but what PC 3D lighting game doesn't? You need a hoss of a computer to play it, but it is one of those games I GUARANTEE is worth more than the Big Lots price. You'd be a fool not to play it, if able. Ranks among my top 20 games of all time, might make top 10 if I ever sit down and list them out.

Though, I do say, HOW DARE YOU IMPLY THAT UNREAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2 IS NOT THE GREATEST XBOX GAME! I SHALL SMITE YOU!

...

Alright, fine, I'll grant that Riddick TIES it.

Went back and nabbed a copy of Bard's Tale for good measure. I don't have the disc space for it, and I know it is mindless, but it was funny enough watching comrades go at it, so I figure I'll trudge through it at some point.

Also, Tribes:Vengeance has a surprisingly enjoyable singleplayer. Let me just say it is the only game that can make you play a 12 year old girl (For one level) and STILL feel like a bad-ass. ;) For the entry fee, definitely worth picking up, even if the MP is kinda worthless.

Is Wars and Warriors: Joan of Arc worth a second look? For that price, some DW-style action as one of the few likeable Frenchies in history doesn't sound TOO bad, but the reviews have been tepid.

2 Big Lots near me, one in South Mesa had nothing. The other in Mesa off Dobson had The Political Machine and Evil Genius for $4 each.

Well my trip was a HUGE dissapontment. I went into Big Lots and all they had was a shitty little bargain bin with educational "games" in it. I REALLY wanted Riddick

Some Big Lots have their games in different locations. Typically, there will be a 4-sided kiosk near the front of the store with games, DVD's, and VHS's.

However, you can also check the "electronics" aisle. In fact, I've been to Big Lots where there were games in both the kiosk AND the electronics aisle...
Go play the later Splinter Cells. They almost live up to Thief. ;)
Agreed, though there's something about the Thief universe that keeps me coming back and replaying Thief 1, 2, and even Deadly Shadows. (In fact, I recall reading a Splinter Cell post-mortem in which some Ubisoft Shanghai designers confessed to getting inspiration from the original Thief!)

Anyway, don't be SUCH a snob, Riddick boosts some excellent and visceral first person fisticuffs (and stealth kills befitting a dude who likes getting his hands dirty.)
I did buy Riddick the same day I updated the Big Lots master list, though I have yet to install it. However, I recall playing the demo some time ago, and my impression was, yes, great graphics, but a very short demo. Some people later told me that the demo was hardly representative of the entire game.

Question: Do you think Condemned: Criminal Origins handles the "fisticuff", or melee-style first person gameplay better than Riddick?

You have to realize that Big Lots buys liquidated merchanside from other retails and wholesalers, so the availability of any product that hasn't been in an ad is greatly YMMV. Like the other CAGs said, the games are usually in the same rack with the DVDs and videos, although sometimes they'll be in with the electronics.

There was no an electronics aisle. I walked throught the whole store three times looking for one. Then I asked if they had a place for electronics and the lady just brought me back to the little bargain bin and said that was all they had.

I have two Big Lots in the area, and one of them had Evil Genius the first day I went, but when I came back for it, it was GONE! I don't like not being the only bargain shopper in the city!

At least nobody at my BB uses the GGCs.

Granted, Evil Genius probably wasn't worth it anyway.

I understand and I believe it respectively.

Never played Condemned, so I couldn't tell you, but you should realize that, as excellent as the Riddick demo is, the demo portrays one of the game's relatively few major shootouts. Riddick is more of a first person adventure game. You spend more time sneaking, adventuring, outwitting, collecting side-item Macguffins for concept art drops. But there is still plenty of action. It... has a design philosophy that is VERY unique as far as gaming conventions go, and you'll realize that from square one.

And, honestly, great graphics aren't the only high point of the game (But they do add a good amount of atmosphere.). This isn't overrated Halo trash or anything like that. ;) There's a LOT of meat there. Aren't TOO many games that can make me a fanboy, but this is one of them.

It think it's a crapshoot. They get them when they get them.

Be warned though, some of the games i've bought from them have been opened and seem used. Still, at the price, you can't beat it.
How often do Big Lots's restock their PC games?
It depends on the store. It seems my local BL restocks every couple of days.

Went by Big Lots, found lots of new inventory.

So... Updated OP with 20 new games.

Some of the good finds are still available (Riddick, etc.)

Also, found a copy of Icewind Dale (the original I think), it was unpriced. Did another Member want a copy? I'll be happy to pick it up (and I hid it very well :) )

Regards,

Thanks, Razorguts, for keeping the list updated.

Went by my local BL yesterday, and picked up Political Machine for a friend, and Scrabble Online for a relative, both $4.99. I tried to get them to check the price ($3.99 for Pol Machine would have been more worthwhile) but they don't even scan the items- the cashier just types in the prices from the price tags. Oh well.

I just wish they had copies of Riddick... There's still a few games I picked up a while ago on my TL, if anyone's found an extra.

By the way, I also saw the GBA SP Travel Case there for $3.99. It's only notable since it's a first party accessory, so it will actually last- Nintendo stuff usually kicks ass.

Just got back from BL. Got $20 worth of games. By the way, Homeworld II is in the old school box :p

I got one game not on the list:

Wargamer's Choice: Strategy Six Pack (American Conquest, Combat Mission I, Cossacks: Back to War, No Man's Land, Strategic Command, Sudden Strike II) - $4.99

Silent Hill 4 is FREAKING AWESOME. I usually hate survival horror because of the disgusting camera angles (except RE4) but I can manage to cope with this game just because it's so thrilling. Definetly pick it up if you can, and if you can't I'd give it away with the cost of the game and shipping since it requires no CD key.

Combat Mission alone makes that pack. I highly recommend if your into strategy type games. Mix of realtime and turn based gameplay.

Also, Commandos 3 was there. It was the same price as the rest, of course, I just forgot how much specifically because I didn't get it (which I am regretting now).
