Figured HDTVs would be a popular choice this year with some possible extraordinary deals, so here ya go. I'll be adding more ads as I get them, and I'll be adding model numbers and reviews to the thread as I can.

If ya steal this, at least link back and give credit. That's all I ask for.

You'll never know until you try it.

Black Friday Wal-mart sales:

Samsung 32" Widescreen LCD HDTV - $498.00
Samsung 40" Widescreen 1080p LCD HDTV - $798.00
Samsung 42" Widescreen Plasma HDTV - $698.00
Samsung 46" Widescreen 1080p LCD HDTV - $1,098.00
Samsung 50" Widescreen Plasma HDTV w/ 2 HDMI Inputs - $798.00

Only problem is I can't find an accurate model number for any of these, yet. The ad scan doesn't show it well at work.

Call me crazy, but I think Wal-Mart really shines with their hdtv deals (in comparison with other companies).

Count me in for the 19" Sansui hdtv w/ hdmi and a digital tuner all for $178. It's perfect as a personal tv. I'm just not sure what to think of the 1000:1 refresh rate ratio...

The 32" Samsung is the LN32A300J.

They've also got a 32" Emerson HDTV LCD for $388 as a doorbuster. I know nothing of the brand, but a sub-$400 32" is intriguing. Model number for the Emerson is LC320EM9, and important stats are 1500:1 response, 720p, 2 HDMI/2 Component/S-Video.

http://pages.samsung.com/us/blackfridaydeals/

Others stores are participating in this deal if you don't wanna deal with Wal Mart.
I was particularly eyeing the 40", anyone think I could find a better deal? (I really want crisp image at fast refresh rates with the least amount fuss)
Anyone have any idea about Neweggs Black Friday deals (HDTV)?

Best Buy, Circuit City and Wal Mart are all going to have that 32' Samsung, wonder which store i'll have better luck at. The Best Buy ad says there will be a minimum of 10 per store.

I am looking for a 50' and it seems like Wal-Mart swung for the fences with the price on the Samsung 50', would like to hear anyone's thoughts on it compared to any other 50' this Black Friday.

Buy.com deals going on now. Shipping is free.

Sharp AQUOS 46" Widescreen LCD HDTV - $899.99
Vizio 32" Widescreen LCD HDTV (Refurbished) - $429.99

They had other good deals, like a 37" Vizio for $500, and a different 32" Vizio for $400, but they're sold out.

I bought my refurbished 32" Vizio from Buy.com last year and it works great. after it shipped it got to me in two days from fedex.

Free shipping and no tax. You can also get Live.com cashback, and there may also be some coupons floating around. Plus you can get $20 cash back with "Bill Me Later".

Not Black Friday deals, but I thought someone might want to know.

I'm hoping to eventually get a 40" 1080p 120 Hz refresh rate series 650 samsung for around 1k...my time frame being until the start/middle of next summer, by which point I know I'll surely have sprung for something. I think Amazon has it for around 1250$, but because of tax and the potential for good deals coming between christmas and the super bowl, I'm still not in a rush.

any word from what online retailers (newegg, amazon, etc.) deals on Black Friday morning? those samsung 40" looks nice, but I get this feeling that there should be better deal than $800 (maybe I'm being greedy).

Another Wal-Mart sale:

Polaroid 42" Widescreen 1080p LCD HDTV - $598.00

Deciding on getting this but kinda unsure about the quality and how long this thing will actually last me. Should I just get an extended warranty and try my luck or go for one of those Samsungs?

A question and a possible good deal:

What does 'class' mean when describing a HDTV?

Best buy has a SONY Bravia 52" 1080p (KDL-52V4100)/ with a 80GIG PS3 and standard setup (geek squad) for 1999.97. (You can get the TV by itself for 1800 on their site right now too).

I have a question about online ordering. How does shipping work with an HDTV? Do any of the sites (like NewEgg or 6ave.com) just ship and leave by your door (I hope not)? If they require a signature (which I hope they do), how am I supposed to order online when usually no one is home on weekdays during the day?

I am going for the 42" Samsung Plasma, I know it is only 720P but I am not planning to watch movies on it, just play video games and this resolution is good enough for me.

It looks like BB has that 32" Samsung available for the same price in the weekly ad (Sunday - Wednesday). Wonder if I can pricematch it at Sears right now for that 10% discount.

Edit: The ones they got at BB right now are model number LN32A300. The ones they are serving up on Black Friday at Sears are LN32A330. BB has these 330s on their website for $600. The difference between the 300 and 330 is the contrast ratio (6000:1 vs 8000:1). I wonder if BB will be selling the 300 or 330s on Black Friday.

Hey everyone. I'm looking at the 42" Sony with the 5.1 system for $1499 at Best Buy, but I don't know if it's that great of a deal. Would I be better off getting a separate TV, or is the sound system worth the bundle? I'm looking for something over 40", preferably LCD or plasma. I'd love a sound system, but I don't know if this one is worth it. Thanks for any input.

Says 300 in the ad.
Edit- In fact it's 300 at BB,CC, and Sears, they're all the same.

Best Buy has a 46" Sharp 1080p for $898.

Had it price matched plus 10% at Sears snagged it for $808 plus tax. They wouldn't let me stack the "if you use your sears card you can save an additional 10%" But for $848 after tax it is an amazing deal and will last me until oled lcd drops dramatically.
Best Buy has a 46" Sharp 1080p for $898.
I was looking at this tv, but my friend that just bought his second HDTV swears that you have to have the newer 120 Htz processing or everything will look blurry during action/sports sequences. I noticed that the same TV with the 120 Htz feature is roughly double the price at Best Buy.

Thus, how important is this 120 Htz processing right now? I assume this will be a standard feature on most tvs this time next year, but I'm not sure if it's worth the wait for the prices to come down for something that won't affect my viewing all that much. (I also read in one review that one buyer had problems with "blink out" with playing his 360 on it.)

Sears in Frisco, TX is supposedly starting the Black friday non doorbuster specials today (Wednesday) at 3:00 CST. You can order them to be sent to your local Sears store over the phone, because apparently this might not be at your local Sears, or they might not be participating. You can call Greg at 972-731-3457. Ask to be transferred to the store, then ask for Greg.

Does anybody have a say on the best 32" HDTV deal? Preferibly $400 or less? Do any of them have PIP (picture-in-picture)?

It will be mainly used as a gaming TV for my 360 and PS2, with cable possibly added in the future

Not sure if it was mentioned but just a heads up.

Sam's Club:

Samsung LN40A540 40" 1080p LCD HDTV - $898.00

Samsung LN46A540 46" 1080p LCD HDTV - $1,198.00

Prices have been in effect since Monday Morning. Original Price before money was 1198.00 ( 40" ) and 1498.00 ( 46" ).

Awesome buy on these 2 TV's. They both are the same exact TV besides size.

3 HDMI's
Ultra Clear LCD Panel ( Has a screen like an HP LCD Computer Screen- Amazing Picture Quality, Best I've seen )
35,000 : 1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio

The A550 is #1 on Consumer Reports and from everything I've read the A540 is the better of the 2 models

Just bought one myself. My Sams Club sold 12 of these within 24 hours so if you want one get there ASAP.

Also these TV's are a ton better then the A500 Best Buy and CC have on sale for 799.99 this week. Wayyyyy Better.

So I am kind of confused I havent been paying 100% attention to this, but my gf was looking at getting the $500 32 Samsung at BB. I just checked though, and from hearing you guys, it is already $500 in the store?

So could we essentially go right now and pick one up for $500 rather than wait through hordes of people on Friday?

It's a non-issue. The only thing that matters is the response speed and the resolution. 60-120hz is geared more towards if you plan on using it as a pc monitor. But even then it's a non-issue. i'm loving mine.

The one in stores now is a older model at 6000:1 contrast ratio.

the one on sale on black friday has a 8000:1 contrast ratio.

I actually want that tv too. 720p saumsung 32 lcd right?

Ill be using it as my new computer monitor, and for last gen systems like ps2, xbox, and probably my wii.

Hey Cochese! How you been!

Costco has all sorts of discounts on Sharp TVs, both in store and online. I don't think the deals are the same in store and online, though, because the 42" LCD I'm looking at is $300 off online ($800), but I think there is a "Black Friday" coupon book in Costco stores that has a coupon for only $200 off the same TV in store.

http://www.costco.com/Common/Catego...gName:BC&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-US

In any case, Costco shoppers check for the mailed coupons and in store coupons, there are a bunch of TVs discounted...
BTW i'm looking for a 37'-42' LCD TV 1080p and 120hz between $700-$900. If any one sees one please let me know thanks! I've already seen a couple for the $1100 and hoping they drop more on BF
Same here exactly. I'm targeting the Sharp $300 off 1080p 42" LCD for $800 plus $30 shipping at costco.com, but I'm not sure whether it's 120 hz, haven't checked the specs.

But I got my A500 for $720 (with tax), so I'll stick with it :)

The A540 is nice as well, though. Saw it in person at Sam's when I was scoping out potential buys

just got the frys ad... Is the LG 52'' 1080p 120hz LCD a good deal for $1198? Is that a good TV? The ad does not list the actual model number.

this may be the wrong place...
but I think I'm finally making the dive to get an hdtv...
one problem I have is that...I really don't understand refresh rate/ frame rate mechanic (???)...
I tried to read up on it...but things got confusing when this particular article were saying stuff like 1080p/30 is good for gaming but 1080p/24 is much better for movies (maybe I misread the article)...
I was at the store the other day and I checked out a Sharp and Samsung (with simillar specs, 5-6ms response time) and I could see Sharp handling frame rates better for fast paced action scene...however this blu ray demo setup with a samsung was overall the best...
looking into buying
samsung ln40a550

any advice will be much appreciated
also do you think amazon will have better deals on hdtv later?

need help choosing between these two sets: Sony KDL-32L4000 or Samsung LN32A330
i just bit on the 360 elite bundle from amazon and now need something to play it on when it arrives. Any suggestions??

Thanks man I called one they were sold out I asked them to do a check and one store had 15 in. I got there the price said 1198. I figure that is why there was still some there. They didn't put the right sticker out. I took it up to the checkout to scan and boom 898. Sweet deal. with 3 yr warranty and tax it came to 1030. Thanks for the heads up. Outstanding picture.
