Flip Successes and Flip Flops
thats just a bit crazy for my tastes... i mean, 1500$ is a bit o cash to chance on a sale. glad it worked out for you though!

Picked up a few penny guides that I sold for 16-22+ shipping each (the CE type guides, hardcover, etc). So that was nice, but i cant do free shipping on those, its brutal.
Wii sports was not a "chance" flip. It was selling at $40-$50 easily for quite a while since GS.com couldn't keep it in stock.

Might not be of interest to any of you guys, but I bought a PS3 a couple of months ago and received Step Brothers and Casino Royale Special Edition on Blu Ray for free, two movies I already owned on DVD and didn't really care for all that much in the first place. I ended up trading the two for Prince of Persia, Blue Dragon, and Eragon (all 360 and used).

I bought a gamecube system with 2 controllers and about 5 games for $20 at a yard sale a couple days ago. I didn't feel like selling it on ebay so I took it to gamestop and got about $35 for it. I know I could've got more through ebay or even here, but it was a lot easier trading it in. I'm still happy :D

I used to buy and flip games about 5 years ago; but the problem Ive found with flipping is that I'm lazy, I'll buy stuff to flip but never sell it. I'm still sitting on like 15 sealed copies of gallop racer for the psx from a GC clearance sale 6 years ago.(i did sell enough to recoup my cost though).
the other problem I was running in to was unfair competition, there was a couple GC employee's putting there names on waiting lists at all the locale stores for every possible rare game. they had this whole ebay side business, but I'd probably do the same thing:) probably why I don't go into GC anymore.

Not sure if it is true or not , someone mentioned TRU might have Backyard Hockey DS for $10. COmbined with the B1G1 1/2 off DS games. $15 for 2 isn't bad. They are selling for $25-$30 using completed history on EBay .

Anyone confirm?

My best flip. $2.99 SMT Nocturne from Fry's. Sold for $50+

Yes, Backyard Hockey DS is $9.98 at TRU, but most TRU's haven't had stock in a while.

I bought 3 FF I Dawn of souls for GBA at the last b2g1 free sale for $7.79 each and sold them on cl for $9, $10 and $12!!! Great flip I think

I've only got flop stories. Back when I was a stupid brat with no job, I'd trade in for cash all the time. Let some good stuff go, like Ico and Gitaroo Man for stupid low prices. I wanna go back in time and slap my younger self in the mouth.

This is a flop on someone else's part, but I bought three guides on Ebay a few years ago. Super Smash Bros. Melee, Pikmin 2, and a Lord of the Rings game. I won the auction for 99 cents with free shipping. It cost more to ship than I paid for it.

not just great, but the greatest posted in this thread so far.

Bought 3 - PS3 HDMI+USB cable kits @ K-Mart clearance for $4.00 ea. Posted 1 on sleezbay for $22 and it didn't sell. I actually had 3 people ask if it was "real" b/c the price was too low. WTF?!? I was about to take back to store (w/ receipt) but I decided to post again at higher price. I sold all 3 w/ Buy It Now for $38 + $6 ship within 24 hours. I can ship for free from my work so I made a little less than $120 w/ no risk.

About a month ago I got 4 copies of FIFA 09 for $10ea on clearance. "Sold" on Goozex for 950 points ($47.50) each. $40 OOP for $190 in points. So basically, my next 900 point game I get on Goozex will only cost me "$10". That was pure luck tho b/c invnetory of the game was quickly going away in all the area stores. However, along the same lines, I was able to trade and help out some fellow CAG'ers and let them get it for $10 too. Heh, I'm sure they flipped and made a profit too. :)

Best Buy - $0.00 for the :360: You're In The Movies w/ Camera that I sold @ my work's bulletin board for $15 ea. Heh, even without the coupon you could have just bought it for $9.99 from the store. I think I flipped 4~5 and still have 2 or 3 that I just can't get rid of.

Amazon.com Trade-in: Not a game but I got 4 copies of the "Elmo's World DVD Set" for free from pepsistuff.com and I just traded them in for $10 ea. :)

Worst has to be the freakin' :xbox: NCAA March Madness 06 that I *still* have sealed and in my desk. I can't give that one away.

Well, if you're giving it away...

I just remembered my worst flip. GTA3, traded to GameStop for a fucking quarter. Traded in a lot of games that day for cash because I was out of work, and I didn't notice what GTA traded in for until I looked at the receipt in the car. :bomb:
is there a price guide for blockbuster trade in values?
noobs just want everything the easy way. i think he the one that called sears for clearance also :applause:

Wait, there's a separate group? Here's another flip I came across, Steel Battalion w/ controller for the xbox. Another one, Super Mario Bros. sealed for the NES, huge potential if you can find in a Kmart or Toysrus (try sneaking into the back room)

Alright well all of you enjoy this thread for sharing all these secret deals and enjoy this site as a whole in fact. Sorry for posting if I'm just going to ruin everything. It's a crime to call up a sears and ask about a clearance deal. I won't come on here anymore if I'm just going to mess up deals for everyone. So enjoy the sears clearance, and enjoy being a cheap ass gamer too.

Sorry for posting all these times and registering. Bye.

stop being a whiny bitch, no one cares if you are on this website or not, k

What the...

I googled these. (interesting that googled doesn't flag my spell check) They are ugly and look like something I would have passed on even back in the late 80s.

Flip that stands out for me was 8 Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Discs (Gamecube). Were to be given away free for buying the actual Pokemon Colosseum game, but they rang up at $0.01 at register, sold all 8 for upwards of $35 on eBay.

I turned EIGHT copies of Gears Of War 2 from the HWV $5 game sale into $120 in CASH in two days. Sick part is, I only paid about $26 for all the copies thanks to a cashier who let me open a trade account and trade two copies back in for $12 apiece. Then, I rebought those two copies plus three more the first night, then went back yesterday afternoon and picked up the last three they had.

They get $18 cash a pop at FYE after 20% promo bump and $13.50 cash apiece at Gamestop after stacking EDGE, which they now allow you to do for cash trades.
is there any flipping guide around here? id like to master the secrets of flipping and making money :D.
Yes, there is. But unfortunately I can't tell you.

I just picked up Resident Evil 5, Left 4 Dead and a few other games at a pawn shop for $8 each and already sold RE5 for $39.99 on my favorite site, ebay. Someone probably wanted to play it but oh well.

ZOMG How dare you....fuckin' hoarder!!!!! /mock outrage

Seriously, good going.:D When you can make 2-3 or more times what you paid, I say go for it.

I wish the assholes at my local pawn shops were that lenient on pricing, but they price shit like Gamestop and pay out like them too. I took in my last gen collection in early 2008 and they wanted to offer me $130 for all of it(including all of the Silent Hills, Dark Alliance 1&2 and a couple of other really good games). I wanted to tell them to eat shit and choke on it.

I mean, I know they gotta make a profit, but $130 for 100 games and they're all in mint condition? fuck you.

bought a ps2 network adapter brand new for $4.98 at gamecrazy. listed it on amazon before bed for $49.99, woke up this morning and it had sold.
