OTHER INFO

Deals usually end on close of business on Monday and begin on open Tuesday (some special ones do start on Thursday usually around labor day, memorial day, etc.)

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you.

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must be 18 and have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush. If you are not 18, you can trade under a parent or guardian's BB acount, but they must sign a trade agreement.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by "flipping" games) they do have the abillity to ban you from all GameRush locations if they want to. Remember, discussion of "loopholes" and "flipping" should be kept in the thread linked at the beginning of this post. We've all had a year's worth of discussion on the ethics of capitalizing on the loopholes, but the fact remains - you sign a Trading Agreement and are subject to the conditions you agreed upon. If you abuse the system, chances are it'll catch up to you one way or another.

Release dates - Go by the shipping date. 9 times out of 10 it is not what the Blockbuster computer says. The computer date is when traditional stores can expect to receive their rental games.

Game Rush receives games typically on Tuesday and Wednesday of the games release. Only reason EB and Gamestop get them a day before is because they get special shipments or their dm picks the games up and brings back that evening (or they are near distribution centers).

Some games have street dates but this is few and far between (outrun 2, halo 2, star wars episode 3, doom 3 are it in the past 6 months).

So its basically official that we wont see this deal again. fucking pathetic. Why cant they just freeze the accounts of those fvcking flippers and let the honest ones continue.

I just traded 3 games and have about $40 credit. I have 2 more games that I have to beat and was wanting to trade them in for something else; now that opportunity is gone.

If this place goes all anal; they wont get my business and I hope they go out of business and all Flippers who ruined this get syphilis :bomb:
On another note, one customer at our store has 10 copies of Destroy All Humans preordered for XBox.
Now you'd think GR wouldn't allow that kind of thing to happen, it stinks of flipper/dealer...

I saw a potential flipper today at the BBV in Orange, CA....a white skinhead.
He had about 20 games valued at $6.99 each.......hmmm

I managed to pick up some PO PS1 games (5 for $13 - cashier took off another $2)
Bushido Blade 2
Yu-Gi-Uh!: Forbidden Memories
Digimon Rumble Arena
Dragon Valor
Vagrant Story
That deal is still awesome, but I'm guessing that Gamerush did this to prevent flopping?
Aw, man, now we gotta worry about floppers as well as flippers? No wonder they're pulling the deals :D.

Seriously, though, traded a few more games at my local BB to make my second use of the trade 3 get a PO for $5 deal. Yeah, so, I got The Incredibles for GC. Lame choice, I know, but still better than paying $20 for the PC version in a few months. Plus my kids want to play it now. Did not come with a manual - oh however will we play it? :D. They had the GC disc jammed into a standard DVD case (the spindle fits much tighter and we had a hard time getting it out). The guy who rang me up let me swap the Powerpuff Girl game case (that I traded in) for it. He was completely unaware that they had that deal running and was going to get some of his own games and take advantage of it himself.

I haven't done any trades that anyone else here hasn't already posted recently. However, Powerpuff Girls Relish Rampage for GC *still* gets $17.

I might actually try to do the trade 3 get a PO for $5 deal at Gamerush - this is the GR that requires the trades to combine for more than $30. I think I can do one of those (a bit harder since no cheapies are allowed). They have just about every PSP game available, though I'm not sure what I'd get.

I guess I'll be going back to preorder Oblivion next time I go to GR. When I asked about the deals ending, they said that they were ending in September still. They were all just regular BB employees though, so they may have been looking at an old map.

Does the computer system prevent employees from accepting older sports titles? Or does the employee have to reject the trade?

^^^The employee has to reject it because I have actually used older sports titles. My stores that I use are totally clueless....
All the XBox 360 games are in the computer as $59.99

aaa, Perfect Dark Zero is on the list
Thanks, so it's a YMMV if it works on the trade 2 deal right? I have to switch some XBOX games to 360 games, so if that goes smoothly, I may just do that and pay the extra $10

Can I do these online? My town is so redneckish that the local movie theater consists of a bunch of seats positioned around a bug zapper.

I checked, and there are no Blockbusters within 100 miles.

NO

Just a note - I went to 6 different GRs in the Orlando area this weekend, on the off chance that someone may have traded in Rez or Firefighter (I actually did manage to find Firefighter for $25 near-mint, but that's beside the point). Anyway, at each store I asked them when the 2 deals (trade 3 for $5, and trade 2 for $30) were going to end...unanimously, they said the deals would go on until September as originally planned. They had heard nothing about a roll-back on these deals.

Now, it's entirely possible that the managers at these stores were uninformed, but I find it odd that all 6 of them were quite firm that the deal will stand until September. Could the roll-back be YMMV?

I did the same thing when I owned my store. But you have no idea how hard it is to get games when there are other major retailers in your town. I actually used games traded in at my store to do the BBV trade 2 get new for $30 deal. This kept my business going. Then I started doing the whole CAG sales. Don't act like blockbuster is all holy or anything. BBV, GS, and EB get priority in ordering. I had ordered 30 copies of Twilight Princess, because I knew that it would be hard as hell to get. I've sold my store since, and the guy who bought it from me tells me that they've dropped his order to 6 copies. Yeah...not that corporations are evil, but way to stomp on the little guy, right? They're not upset about the new game for 29.99 deal, at any rate. They're upset about abuse of extra $5 if you trade 3+, and they're upset about the abuse of any used games for $5.

what is jade empire getting as of today. price drops tomorrow, right? I predict sw ep 3 to drop to 30. from experience new games stay at 30 for about 2-3 weeks. but games dont stay at 35 for too long.

hit up a GR this morning since the deal is soon to be ending and i traded in:

ncaa gamebreaker 04 (ps2) - 1.50

aggressive inline (xbox) - 3
new legends (xbox) - 3
alter echo (xbox) - 1.50
xgra: extreme g racing association (xbox) - 3

picked up unreal championship 2 and timesplitters future perfect. i also picked up a rf cable for the ps1 that i have and it was only 2.99.

Crap. All my '04 sports titles got rejected by the manager when I did the deal yesterday. Did I just get royally screwed, or is this YMMV?

What's funny is that she rejected my NHL '04 (PS2), which gets more trade value than most of the crappy non-sports titles I traded in, which she accepted without blinking. Weird.

-DM

For those in IN or western MI - are any of your GameRush store allowing you to preorder XBox360 games under the current trade 2 get a preorder for $29.99 deal?

i think that you should show her the ad or the big poster's fineprint since it says that you can trade in 04 sports titles or newer. but if she still doesn't budge then i think it would be YMMV
any other trade-in price drops?
From a quick glance, that was the most noteworthy one. Most of the other $30 games are still $30. The only $35 is GTA:SA (Xb).

I lack a scanner, but I'll try and take a pic later.
Whats the best way to get rid of 2003 and older games since technically they cant be used on either deal?
bundle them together and sell on ebay, people buy um for their kids. Kids are stupid they dont care who plays for who.

No games lose value like sports games do and it's because of people like me who buy the new EA football, baseball, basketball, golf every year because we are sick with sports and have to have the current players etc etc. I bought Nascar the past 2 years in a row now and i buy hockey whenever i find it cheap so i about got every sport covered. ;)

traded:
XBOX
Crimson Skies - $5 (no cover art :D )
Nascar 05 - $15
PS2
Midnight Club 3 - $30

got: Mercenaries $5 PS2
(hopefully it'll stay at least $25 till sunday or monday when i trade it back in, it got $30 like last week whenever my roommate traded his in)

Havent flipped for a while but i picked up MC3 last week to use as $$$ to buy some GBA games but this store had NOTHING. So i decided to flip again but the newest game they had was Lego Star Wars which only gets $22 according to their flyer. So I went with Mercenaries hopefully it'll will be good to me.

Well, I traded in 4 games today and pre-ordered
Far Cry (XBOX)
GTA:Liberty (PSP)

I tried to switch my XBOX pre-orders to X360 and he said I couldn't. They guy said they would not pre-order 360 stuff becuase they did not know the availability of it. I think he was talking out of his ass. I guess I'll try later down the road when I know the GOOD employees are working.

Has this happened to anyone?

---------- At one of the Blockbusters I visited, they told me I could ONLY trade in games that were released 2004 AND LATER. WTF?!?

They pointed to the fine print on a flyer... I read it myself and it clearly says that they do not accept 2003 or older "SPORTS" games... It makes no mention of saying they do not accept games 2003 or older of other genres.

---------- They already processed my 3 games for trade-in ($7.50 credit for Madden 2004 and 2 other NON-SPORTS games released before 2004) in prep for the Trade 3 games for pre-owned $5 before busting out their knowledge about not accepting 2003 or older games... So I decided I wanted my games back (to trade at another BB) but the "Shift Manager" didn't know how to reverse the transaction. The killer of the night was when he told me he would have to keep my games and I would have to come back another day to talk to another manager about reversing the transaction… I was real polite and calm through the whole ordeal but inside I was ticked. Plus, I have to waste my time/gas driving back to this BB (30-minutes from my home) to get my games back.

---------- Under this store's policy, I COULD NOT trade in say a Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (XBox, which is somewhat rare and valuable) BUT I could trade in 3 worthless EA sports titles... Actually, it's funny. The BB shift manager said if I had 3 copies of Madden 2004 (on GC, XB, PS2), then he could approve the trade. IDIOT... They should be careful what they wish for because I actually have 2 Madden 2004s and NCAA Football 2004 if they want them that badly… I’m taking my business to another BB though (not worth the hassle).

no, they dropped the trade-in value to $18

Does anyone know what games trade in big to Gamerush these days?

Every EB store is sold out of Echo Night Beyond and Nightmare of Druaga... I was wondering if there were anymore cheap games to find used that trade in big?

I know either Shaman King or Duel Masters for ps2 trades in for good credit... just can't remember which one =/

I'm guessing it ain't Duel Masters, as I saw that one selling at GR for $9.99, so that looks like a $1.50 or $3 trade-in title.

Same thing in Winter Park just outside Orlando. All stores are under the assumption that this goes on as planned.

had a great day at GR today. i went with my girlfriend to one to rent her scrubs disc 3 (great show) and i decided to bring in some games to trade. i traded in:

nhl 04 (ps2) - 8
ncaa march madness 05 (ps2) - 12.50
madden 04 (ps2) - 1.50

i picked up lego star wars for $5. this is where i was really excited. i saw a whole row full of old nes titles. so i decided to look through them and since i don't have a huge nes collection i decided to pick up a bunch. i got zelda, metroid, gradius, and some other games. it cost about 10.xx with the b2g1 free. you have to love GR when they mark down their old system games to .99

20-25 I think at Gamerush, 9.99 used at EB.

All the copies at the local EB's were bought... and one Gamerush here has about seven copies of Echo Night Beyond!

You probably won't find it but have a fun time trying to find it because none of the Eb's around me for about 50 miles have had this used in months.
