How can you patent renting games through the mail? That sounds pretty ridiculous. Maybe Sears should make some money by suing companies who let customers mail order from a catalog.

Somehow they are trying to say their queuing mechanism is patented. It all sounds kinda dumb.
 
Do the used accessories just ring up for half off or do they have to scan a barcode? Both my local stores say they think that used accessories are a no go.

As with all the other items on the 50% off sale, the discount doesn't come up until the CSR hits the TOTAL button on the cash register. Like the time when I snagged the last 2 SFII Akuma controllers, I asked the CSR if they were 50% off and she rang them up and said, "No, they're $9.99 each. Do you still wanted them?" I was like, "Um... hmm... sure, why not." Then she hit total and she said, "Oh, wow... your total is $10.81." I was thinking to myself, "Thank you CAG!!!" :bouncy:
 
Picked up Antigrav today. It seems like a decent little game but the camera isn't as responsive as I would like it to be. Still it's a pretty innovative way to play a game. Almost like a little taste of the Revolution. It was worth the 10 bucks for the game and camera but I really feel sorry for anyone who paid over that much.
 
^^^^ Like me who paid $18 in hard earned cash for it at Gamecrazy a month or so ago :cry:. Of course, there are people out there that paid $50 for it.

I didn't realize till I typed these up that Wavebirds and PS2 memory cards sell for the same amount. That's a good deal on the Wavebird and yet, in comparison, not so good a deal on a PS2 memory card :D.
 
Don't know if this has been discussed or not, but my buddy traded in ESPN NFL 2K5 and got a whopping $10 for it.

Needless to say, he went to EB and took advantage of the $2.99 price plus 10% discount and B2G1 free the next day. Luckily for Blockbuster they caught on and the third day the trade in value dropped down to $1.25.

Anyone have this game? I remember a lot of hype to the game when it came out and having comparisons to Ratchet & Clank. Is it fun or boring? I'd rather hear opinions of people who have played the game rather than read a review from a sponsor-based gaming site.
 
At a nearby GameRush, there's a pre-owned copy of the Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt demo... for $29.99. I first saw it in January, during the 20% off sale. As far as I know, it's still there.

Of course, like most hot PS2/GC/PSP/DS games, I had preordered this last year at GR using the $29.99 deal. But once the advance reviews started coming in I decided not to keep it. So I just returned my copy soon after I picked it up. I'm glad I did. I'm sure I'll be able to find it for $15 or less somewhere (if GR prices it $20 or less I'll get it there). It is a good candidate for the addtional clearance games next week. Supposedly it is fun but flawed. I haven't played Daxter yet, but it sounds like Daxter is everything Death Jr was HYPED to be.

Just got done playing Me and My Katamari (another GR preorder). It is better than I expected, though VERY hand-cramping. I have to limit myself to short sessions :D.

DEATH JR. - Not bad, seems a bit 'busy' on the small PSP screen at times... I think it would have been better for the PS2. It's worth $29.99 (or less).

I have my credit spread over a few cards. I guess if I lose one.. then I don't lose the whole amount. I think it would raise a red flag to the GR employee if your accumulating so much and not spending it.

FYI, SW Republic Commando dropped to $15 (50 percent off of $29.99). My store had a couple of copies. I was tempted, but I'm waiting to see what's going to be added 4/11. Hope we get the inside scoop b4 then.

I saw Harvest Moon Magical Melody in the locked GC case at mt GR some time last week - looks like they got one copy. I'll pick that game up when it drops to $20 or less.
 
On a whim I stopped by the Macedonia GR. They had a pretty good selection of used DS games, but crappily arranged. No TMNT 2 for GC, but I did score a used Goblin Commander for 14.99 - higher than the 9.99 I saw it priced at months ago at my BB, but that could have been wrong, or it just went up since then. Still, for $6 or $7 in cash, I'm pretty happy.

I ended up picking up a used Tales of Legendia at EB using the Buy 2 Get 1 free, so I went in to GR today to see what I could switch it to. To my surprise Disgaea 2 is in the preorder system. Yeah, I know, I'm a glutton for punishment :roll:. At least it serves as a placeholder for something else (and now it is twice removed from the original $29.99 preorder deal). If no other PS2 games come in that I want, I'll save it for PS3/Revo games.

They also had a really nice, complete list of the clearance games and I got excited thinking it might be the NEW one - but it turns out it was just for the older clearance games. But there were at least 2 games not in Shipwrecks OP list: PS2 Star Wars Starfighter (which I think is only $9.99 to begin with?), and PS2 Arc The Lad Twilight of the Spirits (which my GR didn't have, dammit). Maybe I'll bring in the list from here and compare it next time and get a more complete list of what's missing.

EDIT - unless, possibly, the new entries I saw ARE the new sale list - but if so, it is pathetic indeed.

EDIT #2 - oh yeah, and "New Super Mario Brothers" is still NOT available for preorder, not that they'd get it in anyway :wall:
