FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS[hiddenlist]
Q. Why is Saw (360/PS3) $24.99 and not $19.99 like originally posted?
 A. It seems the price was read wrong at first, or just assumed to be $19.99, as the accurate and final list has it listed for $24.99. The game is still garbage in my opinion, but is an easy 1000 Achievement Points / Platinum Trophy. I recommend renting it, or waiting for a lower price.

Q. WHERE IS THE 10% Game Day Sale Coupon????
 A. The past few Game Day sales did have a 10% coupon inside the Game Informer magazines, However the current Game Informer (Portal 2 on the cover) that has the Game Day sale advertised DOES NOT have the coupon. No official word if a coupon will be given or exist at this time. Just keep checking the thread for updates from fellow CAGS. Perhaps it will be distributed in the next Game Informer (in April) or with the Weekly Coupon in the GameStop E-mails.

Q. Will the games be gutted? if so how do I get a SEALED copy?
A. Yes, stores always gut their games to put into the sale bin. YMMV on whether the store guts every copy, or just one of each copy of the game. Best advice, is to get their early on the first day in hopes they did not get around to getting all the copies yet. Some stores in my area seem to hate gutting multiple copies, and generally just gut one copy in general as a standard. Once again YMMV.

Q. Why does GameStop GUT their games?
A. I assume it is obviously to prevent theft since they are a small retail store (space wise), and not like BestBuy. It is not cost effective for a company that operates in small locations to use security detectors (more cost), so the GUT method works for them. Just politely ask for a sealed copy if they have it, or just say no thanks. Please don't complain in the threads. Shit gets old. I hate gutted copies just like the next guy, but it is nothing new, just move on.

Q. Are the games on sale NEW or USED?
A. All games/accessories on sale are NEW. If a Buy 2 Get 1 Free does occur during the Game Day sale then that will be for USED games only.

Q. Will the USED prices drop because the NEW ones are on sale?
A. Depends, typically when a NEW game is on a temporarily price drop, the USED copy will stay at its current price. So Assassins Creed 2 which is on sale for $29.99 NEW during the sale, may still have a USED price of $54.99. However, there are times when they will drop the USED price as well to reflect the NEW price drop.

Q. Where is the Buy 2 Get 1 Free on Used Games?
A. As far as I recall, GameStop usually holds a B2G1 Free at the beginning and/or end of the Game Days sale. I just got this list from fellow CAGs Driftninja & arcurifisher, and just organized it. Although the other threads have not 100% confirmed it as of 3/25/10, I think it is pretty safe to say there will be a B2G1 sometime during this Game Day sale. Check back for updates.

Q. These games on sale are horrible, any chance of better games being added?
A. Yes, I agree a good portion of the games are horrible, I mean "My Baby First Steps" seriously?. GameStop is known to add / remove games during the Game Day sales, so yes some new titles could be added, but don't expect it to be anything great, but you never know, maybe this year...

Q. Why were there so many threads on this sale?
A. Not sure why since I didn't make them, but don't flame the thread creators because it is just people trying to contribute to the CAG community. Just be polite please, and hopefully we will have a single thread to follow during the sale.[/hiddenlist]

I agree that the game is feaking awesome but I prefer the Gamecube version.

I cant recall when I rented the Wii version if you could change the control scheme to use the GC controller but I like that 100% better.

I found that the Wii controls were annoying as hell and what once was a great experience was marred by the frusteration of the Wii controls.

So maybe the Wii one has some extra thing here and there like the PS2 version, but I couldnt put the game down before and yet when I rented the Wii version I couldnt get it out of the system fast enough so as to not destroy my opinion of the RE4 experience.

RE4 actually shot back up over a week ago, along with CoD:MW2 which went back up to $59.99 (from $49.99, which didn't make it much of a significant sale anyway). A few others dropped as well -- I noted that Scrabble for PSP dropped from $14.99 to $9.99 at the time. I haven't noticed any additional changes since, though.

This is like 1/3rd off so its damn near the same as a B2G1. The difference is less than 1%.

Amazing considering Wolverine is the hardest title to attain, at least it was next to impossible for me, I caved and bought off the marketplace

Not a price drop. They're out-of-stock online for new copies, so the Game Days sale page is showing the used price. If you actually go to the individual pages for the games, you can see that.
 
Wolverine kicks ass if anyone can get it.

Believe it or not, I'm really enjoying Rabbids Go Home that I bought through this sale. I only bought it because the Giant Bomb guys (FAR from Wii fanboys, or any type of fanboys) loved it. And yeah, it's a great game. I'd describe it as a platformer even though there's not much platforming (we probably need revised genre names...) Really creative, fast paced, and off beat. Wish it were on current gen hardware so it looked better, but the graphics get the job done.

That and The Munchables are real kind of hidden gems on the Wii IMO.

Oh, and it's a REAL full game, it's not a lame/pointless minigame collection like the first two games. Not a minigame in site. Just Rabbids, collecting things in a shopping cart and doing generally platform-y style stuff to build a mountain of stuff to go to the moon...so they can sleep on it? Umm...yeah, they're insane :lol:

Check your stores after the 25th when the sale is supposed to be 'done'.

Hopefully by that time they will drop.

I am going to go by a couple of days before and buy what I can find...also make sure that the dude puts on one of those stickers if the game is gutted to make sure they know its 'sealed'.

If the prices dont drop or they scrap it all for some reason, I'll just keep what I got.

If it drops then I will return/rebuy since I'll be within the 7 day period.
 
i dont see where the extra 10% off code is...im trying to pre-order 3d dot game heroes, i used the 15new code, but the threads title says extra 10% off, is it a stackable code to the 15new? if someone can please advise, id appreciate it cuz im kinda lost (gamestop keep screwin over my orders anyway)

not for pre-orders. The coupon says 'in-stock games' sadly.

Also the code is 10AUTO.

Believe it or not, I'm really enjoying Rabbids Go Home that I bought through this sale. I only bought it because the Giant Bomb guys (FAR from Wii fanboys, or any type of fanboys) loved it. Wish it were on current gen hardware so it looked better, but the graphics get the job done.

I think Wolverine was sold out before the sale even began, just there to tease people :roll: it's the only game I couldn't find and I must've tried 10 or more GameStop's, Availability tracker was also a huge fail :roll: . 2 stores had it & one was disc only sold as NEW, excuse was this is a GameDayz title sold as-is, 2nd had no manual same excuse, yeah right whatever...

I dont see the fascination with this game. I got it cheap and was still disappointed. It was just repetitive and uninspired, IMO. Perhaps it was my mistake of playing it so soon after Bayonetta. I could see how during last summer's lull it could scratch an itch, but with Bayonetta, Dante's, GoW3 (if you have a PS3) and even Darksiders out now, Wolverine seems...pedantic.

I mean fighting off 8+ WENDIGO/Leviathan bosses/mini-bosses just seemed like poor level design so I just quit on the game as it felt more like grinding and less like fun. Sure it was bloody, but it takes just a little more than gore for me nowadays.

See I think exactly the opposite. I'd take Wolverine over any of those games, save possibly Darksiders (which I haven't played yet). I think it was the most visceral game I've ever played.

Maybe you're not a big enough X-Men fan? I've been a fan since I was a kid of the comics, cartoons, and more recently the movies. If you can remember a time before X-Men Legends I & II, there wasn't much in the way of great X-Men games. In fact, the only ones I remember liking before the Legends games were on SEGA Genesis and I probably only liked those because I was a kid and had lower video game expectations.

I can agree that the game can be repetitive, but that will most likely be a non-issue if you're a wolverine fan who has always thought you should be able to straight up impale and slash people to pieces and get half your torso blown off only to regenerate it while kicking more ass. :)

If that's not it, just blame it on different tastes. I loved Wolverine but didn't like Dante's Inferno because it was obviously a total knock-off. It was much like how I disliked Prototype after already playing the crap out of Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. I also hated Bayonetta, the whole story was just too strange for me.
 
I just received my games today. 4/9 games didn't work. Devil may cry 2 disk 2, Yakuza, Fatal Frame and Eternal Darkness. Bah. The only one I can't replace around here is Fatal Frame.
 
i have a question. i dont know if it was previously asked, but if I place 2 preorder and 1 in stock game in an order, will i be charged the complete total or only the amount of the shipped product?

Although I've never preordered from GS' website my understanding has always been they only charge for what's going to be shipped. I've read people quoting gamestop's policy that sometimes on preorders they may charge you up to 10 days before the release.
 
Looks like the OP needs to be updated. GD10 seems to no longer be valid. Apparently 10AUTO has replaced it, since GD10 was also working on used games. So they likely went with a new code that specifically says all in-stock games.

wow this thread is sooo huge..anyone seeing the additional % OFF stickers on the games in store like last year? I'm thinking maybe tomorrow..

edit: and I can't believe the amount of stock / replenishment they've had on these titles this year, seems like last year after the first 2 weeks, there was nothing good. I still see almost every title in the bins..

I grabbed Saw on day one of this sale (sealed copy, too) and i'm extremley happy with that game. If prices go lower, i'll grab Bayonetta and MGS4. Possibly Lego Rock Band and DBZ Burst Limit as well, depending on how I feel.

I think my knowledge of the comics actually worked *against* me liking the game. I was big into comics at the time of Marvel Comics Presents including the Weapon X storyline (I had a subscription). Thus, there was no new story to carry me through the game as all of that had been told before. So there was only the literal gameplay to carry me though and it just didnt. Different strokes I guess.

And the weird story of Bayonetta helped keep me playing. I always wanted to see what outlandish thing that they would come up with next. I laughed for about ten minutes when you

Oddly, it looks like they've removed all references to the sale from the site altogether, though the sale prices are still active (no further drops yet, though).

Call CS and tell them that they don't work. You'll most likely get a shipping label to return them.
 
hmm its pretty weird they're not having b2g1 during this sale. Makes me sad cause i got about 115 in credit with more to come, but i guess im gonna have to wait longer :(.

You probably could get better cases if you ask. But that really depends on who you get helping you.

As for additional discounts, I'm hoping The House of the Dead games drop just a bit more. Will definitely jump on them if they hit $10. Might also hit up BlazBlue if it does drop in price.
