The good-old games of GOG are often hard to find and/or difficult to get working on modern machines. Many of them would warrant news of their release included in the 'Deals' forum; some would not. Therefore this thread proposes to be the compact depository of information regarding of classic games from GOG.com, as well as discussion concerning their deal-worthiness.

Special sales and promotions will continue to have their own threads.
Does the AC and HMMV Bundle allow for one of the games to be gifted?
Sorry, no. Gift codes are given for entire orders and cannot be redeemed by someone who already has a game contained in the order.

If this used the pricing scheme used in the AD&D promo (own game X for discount on Y) then you could buy them in two sequential orders, but this bundle has to be purchased in one order.

*CRINGE* Wow EA, just fantastic way to treat people. And I "love" that after destroying Origin, they re-purpose one of my favorite names in gaming...for a fucking DRM service

Oh well...I'd like to try Ultima 8 at some point. Seems like it was on consoles?

Bought a bunch of games in the weekend sale + Theme Hospital (wait, was there a Sim Hospital?) because I played the demo when it launched and had a ton of fun but never bought it.

(Plus bought Assassin's Creed, Heroes 5,
Botanicula, and Legend of Grimlock)

You'll love Legend of Grimrock, Wolfpup. And I remember buying Theme Hospital back in the day and never being able to get it to run on whatever PC I had at the time. I may pick it up at some point.

Wait until Ultima 8 is on sale, seriously. Maybe I am showing my age here but as a teenager Ultima VII was one of my favorite games. I played through it multiple times and even though it's faults are somewhat apparent today, it is still one of my favorite games.

That is what makes U8 all the more heartbreaking. I loaded the floppy disks(I didn't have a cd drive yet) and experienced one of the most unforgiving, broken games I have played. It plays nothing like the other Ultima games and the platforming can be brutal. Everything is grey and drab looking. The inventory and spell system is an absolute mess.

I spent somewhere in the realm of 6 months getting through the whole game and honestly it’s just not that good compared to the other games in the series. Very little of the game feels like an Ultima game, and that would honestly be ok if it was still a good game. As it stands I would tell you to only play it if you are a serious Ultima fan.

I had more fun playing Ultima IX if that says anything.
