Question: Are the King and Space Quest Compilations any good? I know they're classic adventure games from decades past (that I missed along the way). But compilations have a tendency to be sloppy and buggy...

There's some stuff I'm interested in, I think this even tops last years Time Crisis 3 w/ 2 Guncons for $24.99. The only thing that made that great was the Buy 2 get 1 games/DVDs when they still had good stuff.
just a heads up.. i dunno if anyone pointed it out yet BUT....... pictured in the ad for PSP is Shin Budokai 2. Someone screwed up, could be a good score if they honor it

latz
I noticed that too, my buddy works there so hopefully I can get him to honor it.

What do you guys think should i buy the cheap 10 buck nyko play and charge or buy the 30 dollar charge station from nyko that comes with two batterys, play and charge cable, and the wall charger? I have 4 controllers only one has a rechargable battery.
It says $20 bonus credit for hardware trade-in. They don't take NESs anymore, do they?
I shit you not, I had a dude try to trade one in about a week ago. That was kinda weird.
so did we agree that spoony is a big fish from gs trying a new sales tactic (or allowing gs managers to fish out cag's?)
Who knows? It shouldn't matter.

Anyway, EB's always had a great relationship with CAGs. They used to hook us up with CAG15 and CAG16, coupon codes for preowned stuff back when they were their own company. Hopefully some of those guys survived the merger.

Besides, it's not like being a CAG is a death sentence for an employee.

Awesome:D I was just feeling lonely this week and I was thinking of buying a new game or two to play with and I was thinking of Incredible Hulk for xbox, Condemned or FEAR for 360... I think I'll be able to afford all 3 now because of this sale, thanks for the info, this saved my wallet some tears:applause:

Actually, they sent the stores lots of copies including Champions and other older goodies. It is only on new and from what I can tell, it doesn't affect used. Yes Pheonix Wright the first one is 33% off, and it is Sandisk cards. Ads went out yesterday.
You think Best Buy / Circuit City would price match that flyer??
I was just thinking about this. Plus extra 10%. And esp. Shin Budokai 2....

I may not set foot in GS during this sale, but might buy a bunch of stuff at BB and CC... hard thing is going to be finding some of the discontinued titles.

A lot of good games up for cheap...

But this sale is pretty "meh"/typical for me since I have all the games that are discounted. I think I'll sit this out and wait for my store to open up the PS1 box in the back that they still have...

Yes! It's online too! If I can't find one of the quest collections in-store I can get 'em online.
Question: Are the King and Space Quest Compilations any good? I know they're classic adventure games from decades past (that I missed along the way). But compilations have a tendency to be sloppy and buggy...
They were indeed done sloppy. The compilations are literally the original games on a disk with a copy of Dosbox. They didn't re-do them to make them run natively in Windows, and they didn't fix any bugs.

how much will the 2gb pro duos be? $25?

and someone said stores were being restocked with all this stuff so there's no need to go and pre-buy to price adjust, right? Thanks for any help.
Another worthless sale from EB/Gamstop.
this is like the best sale they've had in years. that's not saying much though.

For those who haven't gotten Dragon Quest, this is a damn good steal, worth every penny.

Is KOF 2006 worth $15? I am old school 2D fighting for KOF fan. I wonder how it looks on 3D.

KoF 2006 is worth $15, for the old school KoF fan... it plays a lot like KoF with a more lenient combo system. It's fun.

Those King / Space Quest compilation's are garbage, and not worth the money.

I want DQ 8, but for some reason $15 new doesn't really seem like that hot of a price.

I think it is. There's a lot to unlock and the game is a lot of fun. It doesn't feel anything like 2D KOF.

it's like DoA but crazier and with specials of course.

Does anyone know the trade-in values for the n64, snes, genesis---which would be a great deal no matter what w/ bonus $20 trade-in credit?

And is the b2g1 promo for used xbox games still active? Thanks.

I guess I'm not following what all the excitement over this "sale" is about. There is very little of interest here and frankly, the prices on most items are similar to what the games have gone for from other on-line retailers or Amazon DOTDs over the past few months.

Yeah $0. They don't take anything older than the PS2/XB/GC generation.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm not really seeing anything amazing.

Guild Wars Nightfall from $49.99 down to $24.99 is the only one that caught my eye as a great deal, the rest are just bargain bin crap that has been clearanced elsewhere unless I missed something.

Thanks for the list though, OP.

Is there even any EB / GS's that have Champions: Return to Arms new anyways??
Even though your post is a few weeks old, I totally agree. Clearenced 360 games that are more than prices elsewhere. Score! :whistle2:D

I think people see stuff they want to buy, so they're excited. just a guess. ;)

Ha, I still feel the same ;)

If they did Medievil Total War 2 at 50% off, making it $24.99, I'd bite, but 25% off? Nah, no thanks, I'll wait until Target clearances it.

I still say Guild Wars Nightfall is the best deal on the list hands down. Hell, not even the original Guild Wars has an MSRP of under $30.

I am only tempted by Champions: Return to Arms, since for some reason my local EB has a bunch. I thought this game was hard to find?

Restocks.
The $20 extra trade-in credit seems like a good deal. Does anyone know how much credit they're giving for the DS Phat?
I don't know how much they give for a Phat DS but they just told me $70 for a DS lite .... with that 20 bonus, $90 is not that bad...

hm.............
I want DQ 8, but for some reason $15 new doesn't really seem like that hot of a price.
It's only $5 cheaper than retail price $20. I think it's worth the price, even if $20. I don't see a lot of new/used copies out there, might be good while it lasts for the price.

too bad TRU no longer PM I remember PM Ace Combat 5 for $5 back then with the sears misprint ad.

I'm going to say KOF 06 aka KOF MI 2 is barely worthed at that price though, the combat system is almost the same as MI, I hated that game! There's a new parry option kind of similiar to the Soul Calibur series, which leaves your opponent stunned if timed right. If you want a real 3-d fighter might as well go with Tekken 5 for $10 upcoming at CC this wk.

I might grab Real World Golf for that price. It might be entertaining to see how accurately it can model my awful real life golf swing.

So at 50% off, the GBA Castlevania Doublepack is what, $15? Don't think I saw it referenced in the online ad. That's the only thing that I saw that held any interest for me.

Is it worth $15?

Yep, it's there, first row, second column of the GBA section, $15. That and Rise of Nations are the two things I'm interested in. Not sure if it's worth it. It appears to go for $20-ish on ebay.

I'm starting to realize it's one thing to say game X is cheaper at Target, TRU, etc., it's another to actually find it in stock w/o spending a day driving around town.

Wow I just galled my local Eb/gamestop today since I was trying to see if they'd sell these games a bit earlier, and the nice guy actually told me that I don't have to buy today (at normal prices) since they'll be having a sale tomorrow lol. If I didn't know about this sale in the first place and just called out of coincidence, that guy would've really saved me (and other uninformed customers) a good deal of cash=)
