It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

i ordered 2, in 2 different orders, and only the first order says that it cant be processed. HOWEVER they were about 45 mins apart (one at like 12:20 one at 1:05) so im expecting the other one to get the same update in a little while

They'll all pretty much sell our their own mothers to make some money on a deal, so when it looks like a problem for one of them, they tend to get the sheep mentality going and assume it'll go badly for all.

I'm sure BN.com is getting flooded with all the orders for product they're surprised to be selling so quickly, so the right thing to do is wait it out until morning and see what happens.

A lot of the issues people may have with ordering over the weekend may be due to lack of staff on-hand to handle the volume. Once a number of places open up with full staff for the week, things will get cleared up one way or the other.

a good amount are from what I recall from past deals. on the bright side, I have encountered a few members that were surprisingly helpful when I PM'd with questions.

going to be pissed if my order is canceled. BN takes way too long to reissue GC credit which is the main reason I ordered from BN.
 
My card has been charged, and the shipping status on the 16gb that I ordered from on sale, has changed to "shipping soon". Does this mean that I am probably in the clear to receive my order? I'm worried about it being cancelled. Thanks in advance.

There isn't a charge yet, and once it ships out, it'll go to a charge against your card.

If the status is showing as "shipping soon", that should be a sign you've passed the hurdle and should be getting one.

Shipping notification email with a tracking number would be the best sign, of course, though I'd expect to see them tomorrow.
 
Isn't Android from Google? Maybe Google paid HP for this stunt because they know the software is powerful enough to kill the iPad. iPad, however, has the apps. With this many of these things being sold, the number of apps will soar.

These items aren't super-cheap, this fast, by accident. It just came out AND the commercials are still running. I smell a takeover!
 
Ordered 2 from B&N at 1:47am est and got the confirmation email. The girlfriend will be happy in the morning since the hardware on her 2nd gen Kindle has been acting up lately. If this goes through (I'll know at 2:47) this'll be the best thing this site has steered me to since 14 dollar Bayonetta. I love this place lol.

The one I ordered about 45 min ago now says "Unable to process order. Please call 1-877-379-0036, or 212-414-6024, if outside U.S." I payed with Paypal. Wonder what will happen. Kind of impulse bought this so if it doesn't ship its not the end of the world. But for a $100 I thought why not

Uh-uh, no no no. I'm not ordering another one just to cover the bases a little more. I've ordered from Office Depot, HP SMB, Kmart, and OnSale (in that order), so I'm gonna hold off on ordering from Barnes & Chernobyl.
 
Tried to order 2 and just got the notice that it was "unable to ship." Ordered at 12:54 AM EST. But my credit card has a charge pending.

Yeah, I'm kinda in the same boat. It's a great deal, but I'm just not sure I'd use the damn thing. PC for internet and gaming, TV for shows, Nook for books. Not sure I'd wanna spend $100 to browse the internet on the toilet.

I know people like to have these kind of responses, so here is mine:

I ordered one from B&N minutes after it went live (my order says 12:27 EST). Got the "order confirmed" email instantly. Shipping status on the website says "In Process: Not Yet Shipped". Only ordered one.

I know many devs are working on an Android port (which is why I ordered one). Hopefully they will have Honeycomb running on it soon...:lol:
 
With google shopping it says some stores have it "in stock" nearby. Could that even be possible or is google shopping inaccurate?
