Infamous Second Son OT

Anyone else think this game was way too short? I wasn't even rushing through the main missions or anything, and I still beat it in a couple days. For a sandbox action game, there really wasn't too much to be seen

Yeah, it's definitely on the shorter side. I've wondered if the series might be served better by focusing more on missions and story instead of giant cities with little to do.

Agreed. I 100% my first playthrough just now. It was a good game, but I'm kinda disappointed with it. Next weekend, I might speed through the second playthrough for an easy platinum... Although, I did say that with Infamous 2 two years ago...

Has anyone played through all the inFAMOUS games?

I have 1/2 collection as well as second son and I know the story arc is different in Second Son but after playing it for about 30 minutes I decided to go back and tool through the first 2. Well I'm about 50% through the 1st (total progress---probably closer to 75% through the entire story) and I chose a good path (have reached "HERO" status) but for whatever reason the last two missions I completed the completion screen read something like "You've become a little bit more "evil"" or something to that effect. These were story mission not the Good/Evil side missions and I always choose the good acts (figured if I ever do a second play through it'll be much easier and quicker to do the EVIL playthrough second).

Anyways I was wondering why that happened and if some missions have predetermined outcomes like that? I just thought it was odd that for some reason I was given an Evil completion score.

FWIW it was the mission where you escort Trish's medical bus and then defeat the huge evil robot conduit after following the old guys energy ghost through the shanty town (If any of you can remember those specifically)

A speed play through can be very quick.. super easy platinum and it is worth it just to see the other side of things and powers... I would recommend everyone at least speed play it to get the platinum. took me roughly 10 hours, didn't clear a single area... wasn't too bad on expert.

You probably hit some civilians by accident (I hated that mission in Infamous 1)

Took me about 8-9 hours to plat. :) I enjoyed it a lot more than playing as Delsin in SS. It shows that Delsin is more about versatility, than mastery of the powers he takes.

The 500,000 score trophies look hard. Were you leveled up completely before attempting those?

I completed the first two Alpha score ones (survival and rescue) without many upgrades. The rest I completed after I did everything in the city and only had arena challenges left. Trying to achieve a high multiplier and upgrading homing missiles (unlocked through story) to max are pretty much all you need to pass the 500K score trophies easily. Homing missiles are really OP. :)

Alright, thanks. Just unlocked missiles. Going to try to knock it out this weekend. I'm actually enjoying using neon exclusively more than I thought I would.

I agree, i liked playing as Fetch more. Maybe it was because i only had to focus on one power. Sometimes the simpler things are better. I really wish this game had a longer story or more things to collect or do in free roam. I almost didnt get it because Kotaku review said i shouldnt play this game. But im glad i took the chance. It was a fun, but short game, and a pretty easy and not time consuming platinum trophy.

I got the platinum last night for First Light and i would recommend to wait and do the challenges after you beat the game. I didnt have much trouble with the survival ones, i think i have around 1,500,000 points for the alpha and beta survivals. It was the Beta Rescue that was pretty hard. I actually got over 500,000 points from a neon singularity right before my 5th hostage died. But after i beat all those i still needed about 100,000 to get the 10,000,000 points challenge. Then all i had to do was upgrade the rest of my powers for the platinum.

I wouldnt say its that hard, you just have to know what to do. Look for ammo boxes to blow up enemies, get those flying helicopters for special powers like infinite melee kills, power bolts, invulnerability. I think my main strategy was to shoot missiles a lot, find a recharge and do it again. Try to stay on the side of the arena where there are the least enemies, high places help too, or even the bottom floor you can find cover in if you dont usually spend time down there. And always save your neon singularity when you are in trouble, or there are too many enemies all over the damn place.

platted SS. nice game with great graphics, but it really is short for a sandox. infamous 2 took me much longer to plat. thank god all the collectibles are right on the map though instead of spamming the r3 button to ping shit.

borrowed it from a friend though so i cant complain. i wont pay $15 for first light though.
