I didn't see it for $40 but I was at a Walmart 2-3 days late from $58 Arctic base, $70 Sandcrawler and a bunch of others. I got Solo speeder bikes because those are always cool and a Unikitty Lab because I love Unikitty. My favorite though by the time I left everything was gone besides a $50 TLM2 Palace. I was temped to buy it but even for $50 it's an 'ehh' set to me.The reason I bring up this set is that it's apparently on clearance at Walmart, with some people on Reddit finding it as low as $30. I paid $40 for mine on Prime Day.
I recently cleaned up my storage and have the below unopened sets I’m looking to offload. Would rather avoid eBay if possible so if you or anyone else are interested shoot me a messageI've posted this before but if anyone is selling retired sets for below eBay prices, let me know. Had a couple of very pleasant and smooth transactions with members here a few months ago and am always game for more.
I never even knew the store manager had a name. I hate the show. I hated it then and I still hate it today.Surprised to see Gunther get a minifig
It's a bad show. The one part that always made me laugh was seeing their apartments. I was living in Manhattan at the time and it was always hilarious that they were supposedly broke but had these 2,000+ square foot loft apartments in the city. Those would have cost $5K per month in the 90s and probably $10K-15K per month now.I never even knew the store manager had a name. I hate the show. I hated it then and I still hate it today.
Like Big Bang Theory. The two grad students need to share an apartment, but Penny could afford a one bedroom at Cheesecake Factory. Having applied there she would never have gotten the job, you need to take an SAT test to work there, I'm not kidding. It's a bad show. I will still get 1-2 of these sets for the pieces though.
At the price point I’ll probably get this for the wife for Christmas.LEGO has announced the LEGO Ideas Friends TV Series Set. 1,000+ pieces and several minifigures for $60. Thus further proof that the price of sets recently are inflated like hell.https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-ideas-central-perk-21319-officially-announced/?fbclid=IwAR27C7PXCVxQFrwBZphQFqv5KkwCgP0RUVQ0iJcKubR2ZKJcmvNJdPifzug
Stranger Things isn't an Ideas set, but the bigger sets stay around 2 years and usually retired the third. Sometimes that jumps around but Stranger Things will still have like 20 more months at least. It will live through Christmas for sure.At the price point I’ll probably get this for the wife for Christmas.
Semi related note, what’s the typical shelf life of these idea sets? I’m interested in the Stranger Things set but really don’t want to budget for it for a few months.
Couldn't agree more...funny part is as I was writing this reply, I realized I think I know all of their characters' names despite never watching an episode. Indicative of how pervasive that show was. That said, they could afford the apartments because what the show didn't tell you was (A) Monica and Rachel were escorts prostituting themselves out for big money Wall Street types, (B) Chandler and Joey were rentboys doing same, (C) Phoebe was a highly successful drug dealer with much the same clientele as above, and (D) Ross was secretly the kingpin taking a cut of it all. Oh and of course they were all spoiled trust fund babies of boomers. It's a bad show. The one part that always made me laugh was seeing their apartments. Again, Penny making bank by hooking on the side.Like Big Bang Theory. The two grad students need to share an apartment, but Penny could afford a one bedroom at Cheesecake Factory. Having applied there she would never have gotten the job, you need to take an SAT test to work there, I'm not kidding.
But the set is really nice. Love all the dark green and how it looks nice from outside and the new prints. Will work great modding it into MOCs.
But this is why we are pointing out the NYC context. Those are modest apartments in many places but not in Manhattan. In Manhattan you just don't get large, square open rooms like that. Most Manhattan apartments are tenement-style with narrow hallways leading to multiple small, rectangular rooms. Squares just aren't an efficient use of space in these compact buildings.Seems like most here didn't watch enough because they explained the arpartments in the show after getting flack about it. Monica and Rachel were subletting from Monica's grandmother. Chandler always made bank so he could afford his apartment on his own (with Joey helping out when he could). Ross & Phoebe always had modest apartments.
Minus the casual homophobia, sure. But what're you going to do, it was the 90s...It's aged remarkably well
Sure in the mid-90's, but what were apartments in NYC like in the 1940s? I honestly don't know. We're talking about renting the same pad from 2 generations prior. Surely they weren't always tiny shoeboxes. Hell maybe Grandma and Grandpa Geller were loaded. Also the fact that the apartment is at least twice the size of Chandler & Joey's implies some modifications were made at some point in time. But this is why we are pointing out the NYC context. You need to find Bigdaddy a sugardaddy!!!! Don't worry, you didn't come off any way, but I'm still going to crash on the couch though!!!LOL sorry guys, I just re-read my post and it comes off as completely obnoxious. I forgot to mention that the reason I see all these places is that I work in the fine art industry and part of my job requires seeing (rich) people's art collections. I'm definitely not hobnobbing with these people and it's much less glamorous than it sounds. I'll still try to share entertaining stories when possible though.
Can I request the sugardaddy be Asian? Or a country with socialized health care? Thanks! You need to find Bigdaddy a sugardaddy!!!! Don't worry, you didn't come off any way, but I'm still going to crash on the couch though!!!
No! Normal rich. I have dated enough crazy men, more so crazy Asian men. 95% of gay Asians are literally crazy. Like you go on one date and they are planning the wedding. So you need a crazy rich Asian?
Yes. I said so a few weeks back as I completely forgot my password and it was being lame.Did you create a new account?
Thanks! They are all limited stock and this Walmart has VERY few sets but is the only one I ever see the minifigures in. But we still have TLM2 and not Disney2 yet.If it’s green and says in stock, it’s worth a check but if it’s yellow and says limited stock I wouldn’t bother
I went to a few Walmarts upstate over the weekend. Around here, Brickseek is completely unreliable. Many sets that showed 4+ available on Brickseek were nowhere to be found. At the same time, there were clearance sets in stock that showed out of stock on Brickseek.Yes. I said so a few weeks back as I completely forgot my password and it was being lame.
How is bricklink working recently? To me it's been off, but there is a Walmart kind of near me with $3.50 HP carriage and SW A-Wing with a $15 eye ship from TLM2. Wondering if it's worth it to go based on Bricklink.
Some people have been complaining about the price, but it has four to five times the pieces of the City Passenger Train and is just missing the remote. While the train isn’t that original in terms of looks it has the new power up features, sound effects, which I believe is new
Most of the Walmarts around here have reset the Lego aisle so the leftovers clearance sets I know they have are floating around the back somewhere.Yes. I said so a few weeks back as I completely forgot my password and it was being lame.

Mace Windu is in a current set?!I found a bazillion mace windu sets and one lego hoth "Luke's about to kiss his sister" medical set. Thanks Walmart.
I saw that set, but it's not quite the same. I might have to get a custom then. She is in 76115 as Ghost Spider but essentially Spider-Gwen
Walmart again is having the Disney figures for $3 online, limit of 12 which gets you free shipping. So do a few orders and return the extras.Nothing wrong with some beefy stock.
Weird that they're selling a whole box. If it hasn't been mentioned already, best buy has the Harry Potter and the Disney figures on sale for 3 bucks instead of 4. Also my target stores in Ohio just started moving a more stuff to 50 percent off. There was quite a bit of lego city stuff for half price.
