Been lurking forever and finally have something to contribute. For those of you that were burned by Best Buy's drop in trade-in values and have a Microcenter near you, here's a possible alternative. Microcenter has some trade in values advertised on their website and in the new sales paper. Notice the trade in value for Crysis 2. I've never personally traded there so if anyone has please post your experiences.

YMMV, as some stores do not have trade-in capabilities.
Stores without trade-ins: 'Twin Cities/St. Louis Park, MN', 'Beltway/Rockville, MD' [add more when discovered]

(11/29/11) - Added some new values today. I overheard someone say that all the games MC buys get shipped off to their buyer and then redistributed among the stores that lack certain titles. At my store they will take one copy per game, per console, per day, per person. So it may be possible to just spread trades of duplicate games out over the course of a few weeks.

(4/1/12) - RAGE Anarchy Edition not being accepted at some stores due to UPC being different from what they allow (even though it is the "better" version). YMMV on this if the employee will override.

They just had an update today on a few games. They might be getting wise.

MLB the Show 2011 $9

I sat on these while their system was down for the past few days. They were $30, $9, wnd $25 just this past weekend. You snooze you lose I guess.

oh damn. did you get any other updated trade in values?
 
dammn yeah i went last night they said the system was down..system down= system update. guess im keepin r3 and homefront after all. i wonder if the tivs are the same or if they are regional (since im assuming you aren't in ca). much like certain titles can't be traded in the tx store but here its ok. i called today to see if the system is back up but they said they'd have someone from gaming call me back to let me know.
 
Ok, I just called the Dallas location & it looks like their system's back up...And yup, they are getting wiser! #-oMindjack (PS3 & 360) is now $3 as opposed to $25/$27 few days ago.

If that's true that's a bad sign for all the MC TIV's. They've done small TIV updates for certain games here and there but this seems like the first big TIV nuke which by the looks of it is for tons of games instead of a select few...

a lot of newbies were bumping this thread and i had a feeling with more and more people getting in on it that it'd be over sooner than later. i could tell because my local MC had the usual 5-7 CAGs and then on my last trade in trip a week ago i think there were maybe 10 or so lol. not fair to put it all on them per se but the general increase in traders lately and the TIV nuke makes one wonder.

Hehe, Service Merchandise was like K-Mart but continually on clearance or close-out. Didn't they have a big diamond in their logo? I think it stood for quality.

Lots of kmart of north west like lubbock and abilene
 
MC gravy train looks to be dead now. I noticed that all of the older to recent games were dropped pretty much across the board. I did a bunch of quotes so I don't remember them individually but they were all averaging between $4 - $7 at most for the following:

Crysis 2, Deus Ex: HR, Rage, MLB The Show 11, FEAR 3.

Dungeon Siege 3 (Xbox) $15, Uncharted 3 $22, and FFXIII-2 (Xbox) was $30 though. I think Gears of War 3 was $13 - $15.

So if things hold up it's possible the newer games can be worth keeping in mind down the line.

I got my Sega Genesis at Service Merchandise :) What was the Service Merchandise in Irving is now a 24 Hour Fitness haha! And what was the Venture became Home Depot. And now that I think about it, what was the Kmart is now a Lowe's, all in Irving. But I digress, back on topic, I just called MicroCenter and they do not give TIV over the phone anymore...according to the person I spoke with. Reason, "we have to examine the disc". :bs:
 
Hmm, maybe I should dump the two copies of FF XIII-2 I have before it's too late. :( ... what a bummer, now I may actually have to play Mindjack!

UC3 $22, Madden 12 $20.xx 360, 16.xx for ps3. Wouldn't take ACR, gow3, nfs:run , said he have too many so didn't asked. I guess somebody in my state already beat me to it.

Was instore so I just asked to see how much. Didn't bring the games in to trade so not sure if their system work or not.
