Not to go back to the whole social justice thing, but I am still waiting for JolietJake to respond to this post you made directly confronting what he said.

It seems the people on this forum pick and choose what posts and what part of posts they can pick apart piece by piece instead of debating what they actually said.
I'm an artiest, i tend to stay out of religion unless i feel that someone is being a hypocrite. I don't know what kind of response you wanted from me, i'm sorry to disappoint.

I will say this though, i can't imagine any caring god figure wanting their people to suffer in sickness.
I don't think JolietJake was trying to argue, he just didn't really know what social justice was. No reason to attack him.
he was attacking me for saying social justice is a bad thing for this country. Someone clarified what social justice actually means, and he completely disregarded it.
If a teabagger calls a congressman a 'nagger', and it isn't captured on video, did it really happen?
If a crazed demonstrater promotes violence against U.S. officials in 2005 does that make the whole anti-war movement violent people?

Please, answer my question. I'm not painting the whole teabag movement with the 'racist' brush, but I'm asking why the burden of proof is so much higher in a case like this.
Please, answer my question. I'm not painting the whole teabag movement with the 'racist' brush, but I'm asking why the burden of proof is so much higher in a case like this.
Because there are cameras and microphones everywhere at these events, you think someone would have cashed in that tape, you know the media would pay for it.

But there really is no burden of proof needed, ok let's say it happened. So what? a random person called a congressman a bad name, we should all know by playing on xbox live that people are just like that racist or not. It is despicable, but can't we get past those few idiot individuals and get to the real message: the bloated federal government.

Dude, if it helps fuel the stereotype that teabaggers are racists, why would another teabagger who capped it on video turn it into the media? Makes NO sense brah.
Dude, if it helps fuel the stereotype that teabaggers are racists, why would another teabagger who capped it on video turn it into the media? Makes NO sense brah.
Because no rally is as tight knit or capable of creating a conspiracy and withholding evidence. Come on "brah" keep your head out of conspiracy land.

edit: not to mention all types of local and national media are there, not just fox news.
oh, man all liberals hate our soldiers
You wanted evidence, now you're trying to change the scope of the debate once presented with it.

I did not link to a single image. I linked to a *cache* of images. Pages upon pages upon pages upon pages of racist pablum.

So you can post an image of slogans more befitting an Amebix record than anything else, but the truth is that you're skirting the issue like someone who refuses to challenge their worldview.

You asked for evidence. You got it. Now act like a grownup and deal with it.

EDIT: Also, given those signs, those are anarchists, not liberals. Anarchism is the polar *opposite* of political left. But I bet you didn't know that. I also bet you thought Jonah Goldberh's "Liberal Fascism" was a well-crafted argument, too. PT Barnum would have loved you.

When exactly did I ask for evidence? dumbass.
All I said was not to paint the entire tea party movement with the "racist brush" because of a few idiots.

Edit: Also have you looked through your pages and pages of evidence? I see recurring signs, and 90% of it doesn't apply to racism lol, take your google crap elsewhere man

The tea party has no more loons and nuts than any other political activist movement, and there isn't any evidence that proves otherwise. I've heard more scary sound-bites out of Obama cabinet members than I have from supposed Tea Party video.

I think the real bothersome point of this tea party thing, is that it's under the MSM microscope and if 1 out of 50,000 tea party people are seen being extremist or racist in any way, every MSM will report on it for about a full week. That same critical review is certainly not given to many of the left-wing protests/gatherings with just as much, if not more, dangerous behavior.

This recent pop-culture late night talkshow buzzword bomb-throwing of equating the tea party with extremists and racists is really pathetic and disingenuous at best, or an outright witch-hunt by the left at worst.

But keep the good ship "marginalize them" at full steam ahead..... who cares.
Conspiracy? What the hell? Dude if you cap a video of some dude calling a black dude a nagger, how hard is it to just delete the video off your cam?
I have only ever specifically asked for evidence of the "15 racial slurs" certain Democratic Congress members claim they heard on health care flush day. Simply because it's gotten so much damn attention, without evidence.

I wager you could not randomly pick 20,000 people anywhere in this country, put them together for a few hours, and NOT have a racist comment spoken.

Failbucket, what MSM are you talking about?
If you are going to join the incapable-of-a discussion, personal attack, douchebag club - you can play in the bubbles and share Popsicles with msut on my ignore list.

so you are saying audio of racism is being suppressed by the tea party movement? this just keeps getting better and better.
he was attacking me for saying social justice is a bad thing for this country. Someone clarified what social justice actually means, and he completely disregarded it.
Are you blind or deaf by any chance?

If it happened, and if it was captured by someone (like you think it might have been), then that ONE SINGLE PERSON is suppressing it. Only explanation for why it hasn't been released yet.

Not the whole movement. One person with a cam is all it takes. Of course you're the sheep who still believes its a grass roots movement.

@THRUSTbucket
ok fine, that was a cheap shot, and I apologize.

Now, read this shit:

The way I hear liberals rant about the tea party, honestly reminds me of my grandparents and others of that age rant about the hippies and the protests of the 60's. (All politics aside).

EDIT: Also, given those signs, those are anarchists, not liberals. Anarchism is the polar *opposite* of political left.
Myke we all know most "anarchists" (in the US anyway) don't really know wtf it means. And a lot of the time you see anarchists running with people waving Che/Marxist/Commie signs at rallies.
The way I hear liberals rant about the tea party, honestly reminds me of my grandparents and others of that age rant about the hippies and the protests of the 60's. (All politics aside).
What funny is that a lot of these people appear to be baby boomers, meaning that they may be ex hippies.
What funny is that a lot of these people appear to be baby boomers, meaning that they may be ex hippies.
I would agree with that

My dad is a prime example we attended a tea party together and he was a dope-smoking anti-war (still is on the war thing) hippie back in the day.
Are you blind or deaf by any chance?
so you didn't ask what was wrong with social justice?

JolietJake:
"Threat of social justice? Since when is justice of any kind a threat?"

I guess I'm misunderstanding your misinformed view of social justice.

ok if you say so, but how do you explain the local and national media that were there? Are they just tea party supporters too?

You know what, forget it.
I think the whole Jesus/Social Justice discussion is far more interesting than the OT..... Anyone care if we hijack?

I don't have a lot of time either, I'm stealing time at work - but I would just like to say that I think Jesus, as far as government goes, would have believed in theocracy. A theocratic government implementing it's own version of social justice does actually make some sense - as long as everyone was a willing participant.

It is very difficult for me, however, to believe that Jesus would have been an advocate of both completely removing God and religion from government, and at the same time use government as the tool of social justice.
Jesus was very much against theocracy. He decried the fact that holy men used their position to influence everyone around them.
Myke we all know most "anarchists" (in the US anyway) don't really know wtf it means. And a lot of the time you see anarchists running with people waving Che/Marxist/Commie signs at rallies.
They're all kids/idiots who don't know any better. As myke has said in the past, the funniest thing about anarchists in this country is that they are exactly the first people who would be fed to the wolves if what they supposedly want ever came to pass.
What funny is that a lot of these people appear to be baby boomers, meaning that they may be ex hippies.
A lot of them look to be of age to be collecting all kind of socialisticish benefits.

Is the teacrowd still asking about Obama's birth certificate?
Birthers are pretty well accepted as being on the fringe, aren't they?
For everyone not jacked into the Fox News matrix yes.

But for a significant number of the Republican party faithful and even a few Republican Senators/Reps it is still an issue.
Birthers are pretty well accepted as being on the fringe, aren't they?
alot of conservative places consider them fringe

Redstate.com being a prime example birthers and truthers get tossed out with the trash.
A lot of them look to be of age to be collecting all kind of socialisticish benefits.

I brought that up to a teabagger friend of mine, he seemed ok with social security, just not how it's run.

Never mind that it was the first step to the US to becoming "socialist." Hell, it's in the name for crying out loud. I also brought up public education, medicare/medicaid, public services like police, fire, etc...

He didn't seem to see how they're all similar to government run health care.

Here let me hyjack this and distort it to fit truthers
For everyone not jacked into the MSNBC matrix yes.

and that is why birthers and truthers do not support the whole of any group and are purely fringe morons.

Wasn't there some poll that asked whether Obama is the anti-christ? And something like >0% of Republicans said YES? Holy fucking fuck.

Here's a reference point, IRHari: when it's asked, the mean proportion of the US population who answers yes to questions asking if Elvis Presley is still alive hovers around 6%.

Oh, speaking of videos:
http://crooksandliars.com/karoli/breitbart-loses-bet-blames-black-caucus-rac

We have video footage of a black Congressperson clearly being spit on by Tea Partiers. Your new marching orders directly from Andrew Breitbart: deflect and deny, then blame the Congressperson for walking by the protesters. You can do all this, and have no shame, just like Breitbart!

EDIT: TWOFER!

A constituent on Joseph Cao (R-LA):
“He had fundraisers, he had meetings, all in the suburbs — the white suburbs,” said [Kim] Hasney [a photographer from Jefferson Parish], who attended one of those events. “He had nothing in the district. We got him elected. Then, he goes and says ‘but I have to represent my district,’ which is all liberal, giveaway, spread-the-wealth, welfare, black. We thought he would try to change the demographics of that district by supporting things that were not giveaway things. You know, supporting things that would get them out of the ghetto.”

More isolated incidents, though.

Does spit equal a racial slur?
Do they not spit on non-black congresspersons?

I'd really like to know. If I take up a hobby of spitting on people, can I be accused of hate-spitting if it's a person of a different race?

A quick Google search on the whole "Obama as Antichrist" thing got me this as one of the first links. 14% think he might be the Antichrist (24% of Republicans sampled, 6% of Democrats), according to that poll.

I have the wonder how many of these people who are against government health care would also object to the government doing anything to lower gas prices. I hear a lot about how it's gettin'hard for the workin' man to afford gas to get to work, hard to believe they'd object to the government doing something to help, but then that would be no different than the government interfering in health care.

edit- Also, why does it seem that no conservative politician can correctly pronounce "nuclear"? This video of Palin i keep seeing is ear grating.

yep because conservative politicians are the only ones that mispronounce words lol. You cannot get much more biased than that.

You honestly think he was spitting? He was shouting with his hands over his mouth, the video clearly shows this. I would like to know how you spit, but I dont put hands over my mouth and take a good 20 seconds to get it ready for the guy lol
This is a case of say it don't spray it.

But hey let's err on the side of name calling! Those racist spitting bastards!
I hope farmers who are receiving massive gov't subsidies aren't teabaggers...that would be daily show fodder.
Speaking of which they caught a domestic terrorist who was angry about the government and wheelchair bound.

Presumably he was taking advantage of at least one government program.

When did conservatives ever say there wasn't a need for any government at all? Wouldn't that be anarchists?
