[SIZE=+1]Three important notes[/SIZE] (please read these before posting questions):

[SIZE=+1]1)[/SIZE] Most of the prices listed below will not be shown on the games at any given Kmart. Chances are if you can find them they will ring up at one of the clearance prices listed. The best way to check it is to bring a UPC sheet with you and use the floor scanners to verify the pricing before you ask the Kmart associate to open the case.

[SIZE=+1]2)[/SIZE] Kmart price drops are generally national in scope. However, each store must process the price drops individually. While the price drops originate from corporate, different stores have wildly different ways of dealing with them. Some will implement them immediately, some weeks later, and some, it seems, never. Also, there are occasional glitches in the pricing where a game that is otherwise on clearance will ring up at full price at certain stores.

OK, on to the prices...

The wonderful thing about Kmart is that they combine dirt-cheap clearance pricing with a general lack of organization. Thus CAGs in the know, hopefully using info from this thread, can find some amazing deals.

First off, here's the UPC database list as created by Slash and updated by MightySlacker: chttp://kmart.slashbunny.com/. Use this to verify pricing in your local Kmart.

The prices are organized alphabetically and by system (thanks again to ShiningSlade for starting it off this way).

Since the exact pricing is so YMMV, and many games ring up at 2 or 3 different clearance prices I will list all of these separated by slashes, with the cheapest first. For example: Psychonauts $3/$14/$24. I am also adding a bit to the color coding - see below:

You're right. Several months ago one of the employees in electronics had just shuffled some games around and sitting right in front was a copy of Tetris DS. I was hoping it would ring up cheaper but I didn't hesitate to shell out $30 for it.

While the pattern stuff is true - I've had a lot of success with both the motorized and hand crank versions. Although the motorized one is made of awesome.

The main thing to do to prevent as much of the pattern as possible is to keep spraying distilled water on the disc as you are buffing it. The instructions say to spritz maybe a few times? As long as you keep adding water as you go around you should be ok. The next thing to do is with that buffer cloth shammie thing - you need to really work at it, the harder and faster you apply pressure, the better. I've done it before where it's almost been too hot on my fingers - but it's worth it when you've made a disc work great again.

I can see if I can find some of my old discs that I've done this to and get some photos if requested.

Consider it requested!! I got the motorized one last month on CSP ($4) and definately want details on the best way to make it work.

I told Counterboy that I wanted to buy it, and he looked on the shelf and said he didn't see it an would have to go check with his manager.

He came back and said they had none. I asked him if I could look at the sticker sheet to see if there were any other sales, and he said that they had none of the items in the store for the stickers on those sheets.

And when I passed by the counter 10 minutes later, the little jerk was looking through all the sticker sheets.

Maybe, what is strange is that the one store I found the limited edition at yesterday had like 6 regular editions but I didn't think to ask for a price check since I figured it was full price. Another KMart I had today had neither or anything good for that matter.

Also interesting that Genji and VT3 were $5.00 at the store you went to and the store I went to yesterday that had the limited edition for $5.00 had those other 2 at $59.99 and $39.99 (and my local KMart has Genji for $59.99 as well)

struck out on 2 other K's. both had no good clearances (except for the sports titles). i did notice one store had 1 regular Halo 3 in stock with the orange sticker that says 9.27.07 but the idiot rep locked the f'in keys inside the glass case along with the digital camera! she told me she wouldn't be able to open the case until the GM comes in at 12noon. how annoying.

i also checked the bravia 26 inch lcd tv and it scanned at $599. the other store did not have a price upfront but i cant get the sticker off of the side of the tv so i couldnt price check. i will have go back for it

My Big K has tons of regular editions.. the manager didn't want to open to glass cabinet to check behind those for the CE... he kept on saying they're all the regular edition... I'm the manager, I know. The CE is in special packaging anyway... so I saw all regular editions.

I went back to the Decatur, IN store today, nothing special, They took all the new clearance drops, Clearly marked them, and put them where people can see them.....much to my disliking.

I saw the Sony Bravia that's on clearance today at my one local store. Unfortunately, it was only the display model left. Since I wasn't 100% interested in it, I didn't note the model #, but if your store has one they may have it sitting right next to the current model.

It had a big, honkin' crack in the one upper corner and there was a water stain or something on the screen itself which IS visible when the tv is on. Oh and on top of ALL that, it was coming up as $175 and the one lady manager was only willing to give me 10% more off of the tv to account for the damage and watermark.

I thought about picking it up nonetheless, since a $799 tv for $175 is still a pretty decent deal, but only if I could put the additional warranty on it and return it/swap out in like 2 months or so for an undamaged one.

Even though we all say how bad Kmart is and so on, I wouldn't mind working for them if it meant I got first crack at the really good clearanced stuff.

anyways, i went to the K that i knew i'd find at least 1 halo 3 le but didn't see any of them at all. it looked like at one point it was next to the regular halo 3 cause it was completely empty. oh well. i might try another place but i think at this point its safe to say that employees and other people had got to them by now.

Mmmm.. the only problem if you're working at Kmart is that you can't even afford the clerance price anymore..

I think that your statement shows a lack of respect for retail employees. We have quite a few retail workers here who give us very useful information and making fun of their occupation or paycheck could offend them. Just because someone chooses to work retail does not mean they are poor. I have worked retail before and I had plenty of money to spend, especially at these prices.

Most of the people at my K-Mart aren't that well off. Besides, most of the CAGs that do work retail know that it sucks and aren't looking to make a career out of it. I doubt that many of them will be offended because of a small joke that wasn't offensive in the least. Hell, many of them would probably agree that their paychecks are stretching even more these days.

i agree. work is work man. no reason to rip on anyone because they are employed at a particular place. that's just not right.

Work is Work, but some jobs only attract poorly educated individuals (Due to low pay). Now, being poorly educated does not mean rude, and ignorant, but it is certainly more likely as all the "Good" employees have been picked by the better paying jobs. Even attitude is a commodity which is often recognized by a better paying retail store such as Macy's.
