Since the Southern CA Thread is up, I figured it might be a good idea to post a thread for the locals of the Bay Area. Maybe we can do some face-to-face trades, make posts of inventory in various local stores, post any local sales, etc.

Send me a PM and I will put your name on the list below (PM's are easier for me to keep track of everyone). I will send you a confirmation when I put your name on the list.:
Anyone here impacted by that freeway explosion?
Can you still get from 580E to 880S? I'm confused to what sections of the Maze are completely missing now.

I came home from Santa Cruz the other day, but after hearing the news, I went the 280 route back.

I believe the two ramps that are closed is the one connecting I-80W to I-880S and I-80E to I-580E.

I was out yesterday and even on a Sunday during non-rush hour traffic, traffic going towards that area was really backed up. I don't want to imagine how it was today

Thanks a lot Over Easy.

Was just wondering which freeway it was because my sister hasn't come home from Davis in a while so I thought it was the one she goes on.

Thanks. I'm going back to Santa Cruz in about 2 weeks, so I'll keep checking the news for updates. Even though it doesn't look like the 580E/880E is affected, I would assume (as you said) traffic would be hell because of all the diverting.

Man, that truck driver fucked it up for everyone. Was there an expected time frame for fixing this section of the freeway?

it's actually eastbound 80 to 580 and westbound 980 to 80. 880 is affected indirectly and even 92 and 84 are affected as well. westbound 92 was packed coming home after work today.

I noticed a lil more traffic than usually goin my east 92 to east 580 route...was fine on the way back, thought I left work a lil early. I did enjoy the free BART/MUNI train tonite goin to see The Kooks at Slim's. Arnie should extend that shit...
was that hawaiian place called L&L?
L&L IS soo good, reminds me of vacation in honolulu...aww;)

Yeah I go there once a month, some pretty good deals. Like ICO for $6. But most of the games are REALLY over priced. Final Fantasy VII $70, QTF!

I like the Capitol flea market on weekdays, and the Berryessa Flea Market on weekends. Probably will be going tomorrow, but if it rains, forget it.

Is there anything worth buying at those? Only one I've been to is De Anza because it's close to my grandma's. Happens to be this weekend too.

I love the one on capital. I've gotten too many good deals there to mention..

Here's a few of the best

Crono Trigger on snes :$1.50
Dreamcast plus 20 (burned) gamed : $5
3 playstation one consoles: $2 each
Sega Saturn w/ nights christmas sampler and 3d control: $8
Harvest Moon n64: $5
Nintendo system w/o cables: $2

...

many many more too...i'l list as i remember

totally off topic but I heard the 80/880 connector was fixed

does this mean I finally will be able to get on the 880 from the 580? The access to 880 from 580 was closed last weekend.

Hi, everybody, I'm new. I live in Fremont, CA. I think several other people here do too--I wonder if I know any of you from jdorama.com ... or http://aroundfremont.livejournal.com/, which I run. Anyway, this looks like a really useful forum. I have a small budget but always need more games, heh heh. And since I'm just about to finish grad school, maybe I'll actually get a chance to PLAY something this summer.

By the way, on the Hawai'ian BBQ thing, my friends from HI swore to me that L&L was far better than any of the others. I tried L&L, Ohana, and a couple others, and I have to say: they're right. L&L is just tastier and less greasy (though it's still not health food, for sure). I like their mini kalua pork. Tasty.
Bump for the Earthquake just now. Gmorning guys.
Yeah that was fun. I was having such a great dream too!

wow, forgot about that until i just read it. weird, i remember the building shaking.

also, i live in berkeley now and work in san francisco, if someone feels like adding me to the OP.

Dreaming of me? How romantic! ;)

Everyone safe and sound? My Zelda OOT box fell off my shelf and a couple picture frames fell over but no damage here.

ok, how about this one.

TRU in Capitol Ave, East San Jose is closing down. i saw most toys are 20% off.

they close one down, to open a new one. bummer.

What's wrong with the one is SC? o_O
they close one down, to open a new one. bummer.
They should really bulldoze the whole area there that's how worthless that shopping center is. lol

i couldn't agree with you more on that one.

although that Target & Mervyns kinda made the area nicer, including Kohls on the other side of 680. compared to old area where there's bird droppings all over the place.....

but the new store over at Monterey Highway looks nice.

way bigger than san mateo store. more like a tru costco to me.

I just moved to San Francisco last month and haven't found any good B&M stores for cheap videogames. The Circuit City on Van Ness was staffed by dumbasses and had zero worthwhile deals.
