Im a little worried about upcoming titles on the vita as well. This summer will be the perfect time to release a ton of stuff for it. Expecially if we see a ps4 announcment with big ps vita integration at e3. But there doesnt seem to much coming up, and im afraid itll loose momentum and get buried by next gen consoles without a few big games hitting in summer.

Also, is soul sacrifice schedualed for march in usa? Ive only seen japaneese stuff so far. Really wanna get my hands on it.
As far as I've seen it's only out in March in Japan and there's no official date yet in the US. That said, Gamestop lists it as 3/31/13 (meaning it's scheduled as a first quarter release) and Amazon lists it on the strangely precise date of 3/13/13 which gives me some hope. Let's hope Inafune can work his magic and give the Vita the real system seller it so desperately needs.

Those Monster Hunter 4 Vita rumors are encouraging as we look to the future. Also have to imagine that sequels to Gravity Rush, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, etc are in the works. We can also expect sequels to fighting games, iterations of sports games, some creative PSN games and inferior versions of existing console franchises the rest of this year.

Sadly, it feels like the Vita might end up being a lot like the Saturn. A niche system that appeals only to the fanbases of a few hardcore genres (so far, it sure is good for JPRG's and fighting games). It feels like unless those handful of big announced releases all hit home runs it will be very difficult for the Vita to build a sufficiently sustainable market share to merit future 3rd party development. I sure hope I'm wrong because I absolutely adore my Vita. I play it more than my WiiU, 360, 3DS and PS3 combined.
The vita should get alot of new scheduled releases come e3 as well as how it'll be fully integrated ala wiiu with the ps4. Then they'll all be jealous we own a vita, yes then they will.
Kind of sounds like wishful thinking but hopefully it's true.

I personally don't care or like the whole PS4 integration idea but the Vita is in for quite a dry spell if the releases of 2013 are only the ones we're aware of thus far.

Such lack of releases on its 2nd year would often spell death for a device so lets hope we're in for a great deal of good news for the Vita in the future.

The 3DS/Wii U look at a lot more appealing than before due to 2013 release schedule and direct feed that went on today.

Maybe PS4 integration is why we aren't hearing of any releases far off into the future -- Sony doesn't want companies announcing games and accidentally mentioning something about the PS4 until the system is officially unveiled.
Ok just tried it out. My disk save was able to load up no problem.
I appreciate it and I'm going to pick it up then along with Unfinished Swan and possibly Psychonauts, Nights, Warp, and Machinarium.

We can certainly hope.
Any impressions of Unfinished Swan? Considering it, was hoping to hear back from CAGers about their thoughts.
Bought it and played/beat it last night and I can't imagine anything better to spend $3.75 on. Assuming you have plus that is. I still have a desire to play through it again and get more balloons.
Any impressions of Unfinished Swan? Considering it, was hoping to hear back from CAGers about their thoughts.
The last 5 pages have many thoughts on the game. Concensus is get it.

I love kart racers and already have ModNation Racers on disc. I was thinking of getting LBPK so when I take my PS3 over to a friend's house I won't have to remember to bring the disc too.

Can anyone compare the two games? They both come from Sony so I was wondering if the mechanics are the same and the differences come in the cosmetics? I wouldn't mind getting rid of MNR if LBPK is just as good or better.

I've been trying to stay away from getting more downloadable games since splurging on 360 titles during the holidays, but some of these deals are too good to pass up. I'm definitely getting Nights since I loved playing it on the Saturn back in the day. I'm planning on getting at least one more game to pair up with it, but I may just decide to spend $10 and get 4 games total:

Machinarium - I could go for a good point and click adventure game. I heard this one is short, but it shouldn't be an issue since it only costs $2.49, correct?

Warp - Seems like a fun puzzle game. Has anyone played this yet, and would you recommend it?

Pyschonauts - I used to have the PS2 version but never got around to playing it. I know that the Xbox version was superior, so I'm wondering if it's worth getting it on the PS3. I'm interested in knowing how well it runs and plays. $2.49 for this game seems like a steal, but I'd like to get impressions from those who've actually played it on the PS3. It seems like this game just became available for download because I can't find any impressions of it through Google.

Thanks for the input guys.

I sure hope it is somehow related, but I fear it is not. My hope is not as much for integration but more for companion type games (not necessarily the same game). For example, if the launch PS4 will have God of War and Infamous titles, maybe they don't want to reveal those Vita versions until the the other versions are officially announced with the PS4 announcement. Wishful thinking, I know...

Bought a bunch of stuff from the sale. Nabbed Machinarium, Warp, HotD:O and Unfinished Swan. Glad I took a chance on Warp... it's the most fun I've had with a PSN game in a long time. Highly recommended! Go... buy Warp now!

And yes... Foosball is terrible.

What happens between now and the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday season will determine whether or not I decide to get a Vita. The same applies to the Wii U although Nintendo's recent announcement has more or less solidified the likelihood I'll be purchasing a Wii U on Black Friday.

I think there are plenty of valid reasons to get a Vita now, although I wouldn't blame anyone for waiting for a price-cut at this point. There are a good number of excellent titles. Personally, I don't need a huge slew of new releases since Vita is only one of a few different platforms I play and the current library can keep me busy enough. I do want Sony to have more releases for the health of the platform, though.

I don't need a slew of new titles either given the fact that my PS+ membership will net me more than enough titles to play initially after I buy the system. I would just rather not by the Vita if it's dead by the end of the year.

As for my question regarding the 13 for 13' sale, I've decided to buy Nights, Warp, Machinarium and Pyschonauts. I'm still somewhat on the fence about Psychonauts, so hopefully, those that download the game can give their impressions on whether or not it was worth the purchase.

Pretty much all news of any new releases for Sony or Microsoft consoles have dried up as far as the Fall/Holiday season is concerned. Splinter Cell is the last release (August) that isn't just a vague TBA 2013.

As soon as they decide to announce we should see a flood of new titles being announced. Just a waiting game for who announces first. (GDC in March? E3 in June is pushing it. TGS in September is too late.)

WiiU is also lacking in a definitive list of upcoming titles, most likely thanks to companies having to hold out on their own announcements until the other two consoles are official.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/01/23/crysis-3-beta-kicks-off-january-29th-on-psn/

The Crysis 3 beta will be out next week:
Hey PlayStation Nation! We’re a few weeks away from the release of Crysis 3, the premier sandbox shooter of 2013. In order to give those fans that can’t wait any longer a preview of what’s to come, we’re launching a worldwide cross-console beta. The Crysis 3 beta will be available for download on PlayStation Network on Tuesday, January 29th and lasting until February 12th. Get ready to suit up!

The beta is designed to give you a taste of the full Crysis 3 multiplayer experience, and help the development team collect your feedback. Read on for answers to some common questions regarding the Crysis 3 Beta, and for more information visit www.crysis.com.

What modes will be playable in the beta?

Hunter Mode: This multiplayer game mode is all about survival of the fittest. There are two teams, initially comprised of two permanently cloaked “Hunters”, and up to 14 CELL troopers awaiting extraction. Each trooper slain respawns on the Hunter team to prey on their former allies, building to a frenetic climax. If any of the troopers survive the round, the hunters lose. Whichever way you play, Hunter Mode delivers a heart-pounding test of strategy and survival.

Crash Site Mode: This multiplayer game mode is the ultimate King of the Hill-type experience. An Alien dropship deploys a pod at random around the map. Players on each team must remain near the dropped pod in order to capture the zone and accumulate points. Each alien pod holds two shields players can utilize defensively as weapons. In addition, each Crash Site map will have a “Pinger,” a CEPH-constructed walking weapon of mass destruction. But be careful: other players can hijack the Pinger while you’re inside!

What maps will come with the beta?

Museum: Roam the dark Ruins of Museum in downtown Manhattan and use the verticality to your advantage.
Airport: Close to the financial district, nature has taken over buildings and planes in this open fields area.
The full game has 10 more maps and six more game modes that are not to be found in the Open Beta.

How do I install the Open Beta on PS3?

The Open Beta will be located for download and installation on PSN in the demos section.

Where do I go if I have a problem, comment, or question?

The Crysis 3 forum at MyCrysis.com is your first stop. There will be threads for each problem as well as for comments; please post in the correct forums. You may find the answer to your problem already posted by someone else in the community or answered by one of the developers. When posting a new problem, please include as much detailed information as possible in order to help us understand the issue and resolve it.

What state is the game in? How close to final is the code I am looking at?

This is an Open Beta, which means most areas of the game are nearly complete; however, we are still looking at balance and polish. Feedback is always welcome.

Do my comments about balance or gameplay matter?

Absolutely. We will read every post. Keep it constructive and keep it civil, but keep it coming!

Is there single-player content in the Open Beta?

No, the Open Beta is only multiplayer content. The goal of the Open Beta is to serve as a final testing of the game’s backbone and features, and to give fans and the curious out there a chance to play the game before it is released.

Anyone know if Best Buy emails you the PSN Card code if you order the card online? Been looking to get rid of this $20 gift card and this seems like the perfect time.

I just bought a download code from Gamestop yesterday because it did not appear that Best Buy offered that option. Physical card only except for the $50 card which is currently sold out.

psychonauts download was awesome. Plays just like the ps2 copy to me. I'm sure the ending is still crazy frustrating, but I've enjoyed playing some psychonauts again.

Isn't there a way to add specific amounts beyond $5 to my PSN account? I thought I read somewhere that you have to add a minimum of $5 when you add funds to your account but that you could pick a specific amount beyond the $5 threshold. It looks like I'm getting three $2.50 games for sure (Nights, Warp, Machinarium) and possibly either Psychonauts or the Unfinished Swan. My total cost is either going to be $7.50, $10 or $11.25. I currently have a balance of $0.35 in my wallet, so I'd like to be able to add $7.15, $9.65 or $10.90 to my wallet so that I end up with $0 in my wallet after my purchases. Is it possible to do this? It doesn't appear that you can do this via SEN, but can you do this by adding funds via PSN? Thanks.

^Add all the items you want to your cart on PSN, then check out, and one of the funding options will be the exact amount you need. That's the only way I know how to do it.

If you're just checking out through the PSN store than yes, any amount over $5 will be added automatically at checkout and you won't be left with any change in your PSN wallet.

Aha! Thanks. Does anyone know if PayPal is available/working when you add funds via PSN? Also, I need help choosing between Psychonauts and the Unfinished Swan. I know that both offer unique experiences, and it appears that Psychonauts probably provides more bang for my buck. However, the uniqueness of the Unfinished Swan has me intrigued...

Thanks.
If you just go straight to your cart and hit purchase, it'll add the specific amount you need, as long as it's over 5 dollars, which in this case it is. I bought $17.50 worth of items and had 2 bucks left in my account and just hit purchase and it took out exactly $15.50 from my card so I didn't have to add $20.
Added this to the Wiki thread we have for this. Everybody should feel free to edit or post their confirmations in that thread.

OK, so that's confirmation for Jak. Anyone try LBP Karting yet? My purchase depends on disc-save compatibility (and yeah, I checked the other thread and no update from anyone yet). C'mon, someone must have done this!
Also, I need help choosing between Psychonauts and the Unfinished Swan. I know that both offer unique experiences, and it appears that Psychonauts probably provides more bang for my buck. However, the uniqueness of the Unfinished Swan has me intrigued...
Psychonauts is one of my favorite games of all time. It's got some clunky level design and the platforming isn't as tight as it could be, but the story and characters are fantastic and the writing is top-notch. If you've never played it, I'd go for that. At the same time, it's regularly this cheap on Steam, and in a better edition as it were; if that's an option I'd just wait and snag it for PC at some point in the future.
Any impressions of Unfinished Swan? Considering it, was hoping to hear back from CAGers about their thoughts.
Amazing game. Bought it for $15 and thought it was worth every penny.

I'm not a PC gamer, so I have to get it for either the PS3 or 360. I know the Xbox version of Pyschonauts is better. I just don't know how realistic it is to expect that it would drop to 200 points at some point in the future.

Dangit. Two people in succession have nothing but praise for Psychonauts and the Unfinished Swan. I may have to cave and get both along with the other three games I mentioned...

Yeah, for crap's sake, people, just buy the damn thing and stop asking about it. $3.75 is a fucking steal (I also paid $14.99 for it).

There has been constant praise of The Unfinished Swan since the list was announced on Monday, so people continuing to ask about it should just read back a bit.

I know that. I was just thinking of getting either TUS or Psychonauts. Now you guys have me thinking I need to get both.

Well, personally I'm passing on Psychonauts because I think I have the Xbox (if not also the PS2) disc somewhere. If it was a PSN release with trophy support I'd get it - but as an emulated PS2 game I'm passing, even at that price. I played the game a little back on the PS2 but never get near the end so I'd probably have given it a shot if it was a PSN game. As it is, I have Nights and Machinarium from this sale and will probably get Warp as well (and LBP Karting if anyone can confirm disc-save compatibility).

Or they can download the demo and see if they like it.
Are the Ratchet and Jak games the PS3 HD versions or the PS2 games?

I can't find this info on the PS Blog.
HD versions

If it were me I'd say you can pass on psychonauts - I personally don't think it's aged all that well, but it's also something that sees sales more often that the average game. I haven't played TUS yet but I'm certainly curious (other than the reports of motion sickness which isn't all that exciting).

I'm beginning to lean that way now. I'm stuck in the clutches of Skyrim right now, and I can see myself taking a break from it to play Nights, Warp and Machinarium. Also, I can see myself taking a couple of hours off to play through a single run-through of the Unfinished Swan. However, I can't really see myself getting into Psychonauts especially when I have the J&D, R&C and Sly collections sitting in my backlog.

I thought $15 was a bit too much for the game, hoping for $10, so this seals it.

I don't get how the unfinished swan is getting such good reviews. I played the demo and it was really boring. Skimmed around some gameplay vids on youtube and it looks like the entire game is just firing blobs to make things appear... really don't get the appeal to that.

I'm halfway through Unfinished swan. It's pretty fantastic. Way better than even I had imagined it'd be. I expected to get bored and quit by now. And Psychonauts is such a weird game. For this price it's worth the risk. If you loved classic PS2 platformers you'll love this one. It's got loads of charm.

It's an adventure game. You're thrown into this world and you have to unravel what's going on and explore. If you don't like those type games then unfinished swan isn't for you. (The demo doesn't really do it justice IMO)

Is it okay to play TUS before playing Journey? I hear there are some references to Journey in TUS. I plan to play both, but I missed Journey when it went on sale.
