So did anyone do the E3 Home scavenger hunt thing? I just ran through the whole thing in about 30 minutes or so, and while I got all of the home items I'll probably never use, I haven't been able to get any of the rewards that give you a voucher code to actually work. They include a month of plus, a month of Music Unlimited, a few PS Mobile games, and a couple dynamic themes. They all give me the result "failed to download voucher code". Maybe they're just swamped now. I'll try later. It seems like they save the fact you've gone through and I won't have to do the legwork again.

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/309935-ps-home-e3-free-ps-30-days-games-betas-and-more/

There's a thread for it over here.

Damn, so much downloading to my PS3 ever since I bought a 1TB HDD and the recovery method failed.

Think I already got Charter calling me since I hit the 250GB Monthly soft Cap.

I think downloading UC3 overkilled it

PS All-Stars is tempting, but I bet it'll be a free PSPlus game soon.

So my understanding is that the Uncharted Single Player Experience, the Uncharted F2P Multiplayer Pack, and the Uncharted 2D movies are probably all necessary to get the full enjoyment out of the single player game. Over the coming days, maybe someone could work to confirm all this. I'll try as well.
1. Single player 12GB

2. Single player 2D movies 13GB

3. Multiplayer free to play (mandatory) 4.7GB = About 30GB

4. Single player 3D movies 13GB optional

5. Spanish language packs also optional.

ok, i missed about ten pages of this thread due to jumping up and down at no DRM + 399 + FFXV, etc.    Did I miss anything of vital importance like a free E3 game if you act now or anything like that?

Also.. Walking Dead at $5?  Mine.

Any thoughts on Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit?

Music Unlimited is a pretty awesome service.   Got it on the super sale earlier this year.  Might reup now if they let you add years at this sale price.

p.s. -  NO DRM.   i preordered the living hell out of my future ps4, then cancelled it and preordered again, just because I wanted to re-experience the joy.

I don't even see the option to choose to download just the single player or the multiplayer, so 15 GB DL is a moot point. The fact of the matter is that the free Uncharted 3 game here for Plus members to download is 40 GB, which means that you'll need 80 GB of room in order to download it. I don't see a lot of people with that kind of available space.

You have to do the initial "purchase" at 40gb, but once you start downloading, it appears as a number of separate packs in the download manager. I just went through and cancelled all of the ones that I didn't want. Of course, you probably have to have the full free space available initially for it to even start... (However, maybe if you just "purchased" it and then went to your downloads in the store menu, all of the separate packs would appear there?)
Edit: Yup, just checked and all of the packs appear separately under "View Downloads" after it's been purchased.

Just out of curiosity, am I going to be missing half the story of the game if I don't download the movies?

You must fucking fly through games. I got at least 8 hours of gameplay out of Hell Yeah.

EDIT: My Raptr account says 7. Still, no way I could have ever beaten it in 3-4.

Just that PSN Plus subscription is required now for the PS4 if you want to play online. I'm not sure if it's needed for other online functions, e.g. Netflix, since the lack of clarification.

My main concern is if Plus is required for the PS4, there will be a lack on an initiative to bring good games to the IGC to tempt those people into buying the PSN Plus subscription, which may trickle down and have an affect on the PS3's Plus program as well.

Well the game can probably be beaten in 4 hours, though you can get side tracked with things like unlockable costume heads / hidden stuff / not figuring out bosses (I know the boss you kill by zooming out took me a moment to figure out) and redoing challenges, but I largely meant the game only has a few hours of fun.

Every boss is pretty much a rehash of another once you get towards the end (not in appearence, but in battle plan) and others are just gag bosses. Like the aforementioned one (though there is another, maybe more, I forget) that can be killed by zooming out. The kill animations are also pretty kill, though again, you're only looking at like 20 different ones, that get rehashed for the 101 bosses.

There also isn't really a post game, since getting the costumes isn't the most eventful thing ever, nor are the mini games that awesome. Most of the post game is actually making minions (the aforementioned bosses) do things in slavery, but i can't see that being entertaining for more than an hour.

At the conference they said "Access to all your media services won't require Plus" I'm pretty sure that means Netflix and the like.

Well, I know he said that the media and streaming functionality would be available to everyone but who knows if they'll do it like MS did and stick in a separate category.

Had to force myself not to buy anything I know I could get just as cheap at retail soon. Ended up with Assassins Creed Liberation, Sound Shapes, and Walking Dead. Might buy Portal 2 as well

They've already stated that no media apps are going to be held behind a paywall because (paraphrasing this) "it doesn't make sense to require a subscription to be able to access other things that require a subscription."

Machinarium, y u no cross-buy? Also, PS+ makes the prospect of early adopting the PS4 not seem so anti-CAGish. Plus, $399 is an incredible price. I don't think we'll see much of a price reduction over its lifespan. My only real concern is the initial build quality.

edit: is fuck working?

edit 2: k, is fucking working?

edit 3: fuck-ing

edit 4: i see, i see...

Is the $7.49 price correct for Sound Shapes cross buy? I bought the PS Vita version this afternoon for $3.49 and it gave me both the Vita version and the PSN version (so the cross buy). Is that not the case for everybody?

They've already stated that no media apps are going to be held behind a paywall because (paraphrasing this) "it doesn't make sense to require a subscription to be able to access other things that require a subscription."
It's a shame that this isn't the Sony that was around 7 years ago, would have made a big difference if they had been this consumer friendly from the start of the generation.

Really not thrilled though that I just tried to use the Battlefield 3 PS+ trial (to get Close Quarteres while it was free) and it expired while the game was patching...

Is the $7.49 price correct for Sound Shapes cross buy? I bought the PS Vita version this afternoon for $3.49 and it gave me both the Vita version and the PSN version (so the cross buy). Is that not the case for everybody?
No. It just is a cross buy... I don't know how else to explain it than it just is always a cross buy... period.

Considering Metal Gear Rising and Resident Evil 6, among others. Any thoughts at that price? Today's thread already convinced me to pick up Sounds Shapes, Hell Yeah, and Walking Dead. On the fence on All Stars too. MGS is one of my favorite series but I know Rising is vastly different than the others. I have no idea what to expect from what I've read/heard about it. TR is a definite purchase, have only held off this long due to backlog.

Well Rising is a hard call, since it's an amazing game, but extremely short. Like, 5 hours is a "look and see" run through and it can probably be done in under 2 hours if you REALLY gun it. With that being said, it's a pretty great game with some friendly, but deep combat. Also the VR missions will keep you playing, though be warned that VR 18 and 19 are "platinum breakers".

Rising really was a lot different. No focus on stealth at all, like you might expect from the Solid series. Rising is all about the action. One of the harder platinums I've done. You really have to be patient and quick with the combos. Story was...eh. I don't really remember much of it to be honest. Gameplay is great, Platinum Games really knows how to put together an action game.

Also the complaints of being able to finish in five hours have been around since the games release. Unless you are literally running through every mission and you're on easy, you'll get a decent amount of gameplay out of it. The gameplay times that people post from their results screen do not include cutscenes. As with any MG game, you're looking at around 2+ hours of watching cutscenes. Play on at least hard...revengence difficulty even, and you'll finish nowhere near just five hours.

I can't imagine that RE6 won't be under $15 at some point, it bombed pretty hard if I remember right.

Great deals.. I just saw the psn plus 1 year for 41.99$ do you believe is going to be a better deal near to the ps4 release?
Yes. Sony is going to push it hard when the PS4 releases.

You got to figure, if the PS4 releases in November or December, then we have...

  • New yearly Vita games (those came out in like late Oct or November)
  • Probably some sort of PS3 bonus.
  • Hype to check out Plus on your PS4.
  • etc.

Yeah, my hesitancy isn't even about price on that one, it's more like weighing the backlog against how good of a game it is. I know it doesn't live up to RE standards but was thinking that it might still be an enjoyable action game. Did the game suck or did everyone just go in with high RE expectations and then got let down? That's really what I am wondering on that one.

Did you notice that the regular amount for the Tomb Raider's bundle is just $22, and for Plus member it's $20? That's only $2 off. Great deal either way for this fantastic game. I just don't want to download 10 GB worth of space to my Hard Drive if I am going to purchase the game. If I were buying, I would rather get a physical copy. I'm hoping that this game will be an IGC one day.
It's only a $2 drop but for me it's enough. I wanted this game at $30 and passed, so I can't reasonably argue against $20, or even $22. It's still selling for $50 retail.

PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale – PS Plus Price: $14.00

That seems good?

The Walking Dead – Season Pass – PS Plus Price: $5.00 WOW

I thought about buying Playstation All-Stars but I was reminded of this:

PS All-Stars is tempting, but I bet it'll be a free PSPlus game soon.

If you're not getting to it for a while I would probably wait. I'm one of those weird people that liked RE5 a lot for what it was and bought it on day one but have little to no interest in RE6 until it's closer to $10.

Well $22 is the price for regular members, as of early this afternoon (before prices were updated) it was $60 so it's still a good deal when everywhere else is $30 at the lowest and doesn't come with the other content. So still a great deal, just not the amazing extra discount plus usually gets.

Anyone have thoughts on the Tomb Raider MP? Looks neat and different but do people actually play it? Was thinking about maybe returning the copy of FC3 I had bought and getting TR.

Not to mention the Tomb Raider Bundle comes with Quantum Conundrum. So thats pretty much 2 games and extra DLC for $20 bucks...glad I put a bigger HDD in my PS 3. Downloading now!

I have a quick question regarding Saints Row: The Third. It's currently available as a free full game trial for PS+ members. The actual full game will be available this month, correct?

So in case anyone cares, I just downloaded the Uncharted 3 Single Player experience and installed it, and it didn't even install as a game, it's just stored under game data utility right now.

I'm glad they separated it into multiple files, in case there is an error in downloading or installing, you won't lose quite as much.  I can't imagine downloading the whole 28GB just to have it error out around 95% and making you start all over.

I ended up removing a lot of the Online Passes that were listed for free since many of them aren't on the PS Store anymore. I'd hope that if you bought a used copy that it would be available on the in-game store for free. EA's one of the notorious PSN publishers that pulls old content from yearly series after new sequels are out.

So, just recently got a Vita, so noob question. Does the PS plus stuff update another day? Thought God Eater and Zero Escape would be up today with the rest of the stuff.

I like to know whether anyone tried downloading the original Alice game that is now free? Is it playable without having Alice Madness Returns?
