PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Hard reset redux and neon chrome look like fun. Neon chrome is another game I never heard lf until Tyler. I mean ia posted a video about it the other day.

I don't know what's going on anymore.

Dangerous Golf PS + hype?

Plague Inc is a fun mobile game, but I don't see how in the hell it got a console port.

I support tyler's play by play. Sure, I could watch the guy bobble a ground ball letting the winning run score, but it's also fun with cartoon sound effects and a hee haw soundtrack.

#aspiringbuttbuddy

and whoever said it earlier, I also don't really know what cities skylines is or whatever and I think I'm kind of in the know. I live on a fucking video game forum ffs.
I thought I had remembered it being a city simulator like Sim City, and in looking it up, that's what it seems to be.

I just had it tonight. Delicious!
Delicious is the Burton Baton I'm gonna Crack open when I fire the grill up around noon tomorrow. Probably my favorite beer yet, though the Mosaic Promise I had today is pretty high up there as well. That shit was almost perfect, probably helps that it was really fresh compared to most other hopped up beers I've been able to get my hands on around here.

And before someone takes my anti-memorial day rant too seriously, my dad was a Vietnam vet. He saw and did things that changed him forever so I'm fully aware of the sacrifices that our armed forces make.

I just want a new Preacher episode dammit...

And "Matt & Kara" from comixology sent me an email...

"Hey there,

We noticed that you haven't bought a comic just yet, and we know picking your first book is the hardest part.

Don't worry, though, we want to help you out. We're friends now, you see. Best friends."

fucks sake...

Same. When was your dad there? Mine was there in 1970 as a marine. I guess his main thing was firing grenades out of the mortars. But that jungle did all sorts of shit to his head.

I think assassins creed chronicles might be one of my least favorite games. I'm only on the fifth sequence and it feels like such a painstaking chore. Unlike actual AC games you're forced to stealth some sections lest you be immediately beat down. I even think the ones other than China are focused entirely on stealth. Even though the levels are 'short' they feel really long and mostly unimaginitive. There's just a few too many mechanics to keep track of already but that might be because I'm old. And I'm not really sure if the story is going anywhere. Or if there is a story.

Homefront almost feels like a 3rd person cover shooter that they decided to change to a 1st person shooter at some point midway through development.

It's kinda freaky that the game predicted slightly outside of a 2 week margin when Kim Jong-Il would die.

Game released March, 2011. Actual death December 17, 2011, predicted death January 2, 2012.

So when did Amazon have the option for free same day shipping?  Pretty fucking sweet and handy for all the stuff I'll need for my new apt.

Finished the Homefront Campaign on normal. I liked the world they built up and the newspapers detailing how events transpired from the current to the present future. Even if it is a little silly that everyone is afraid to piss off China so they keep bending over backwards to make North Korea the one who somehow gets the ball rolling on the Asian invasion of the Americas. The characters are pretty much just archetypes (tech guy, obligatory female, loose cannon, father figure) and don't progress much beyond that.

I didn't really enjoy the shooting that much at times as I would so often be getting shot from somewhere and couldn't find where until I had gotten shot quite a bit. It felt like a cover based shooter that was changed to an FPS which made it pretty difficult to pop out and shoot at enemies. Sometimes the AI squad mates are helpful and sometimes they are complete garbage. You are the low rung on the totem pole so you aren't giving commands, you are receiving them. One time the commander told me to walk over to open a gate and "He'd cover me" and he did none of the fuck ing sort.

The grenade indicator for when an enemy throws one is absolute garbage. It doesn't tell where it landed, if you are in the kill range, nothing useful other than someone tossed a grenade...someplace. One of the trophies is for getting through each individual chapter without dying or restarting the checkpoint, 95% through the 30+ minute chapter and a stray grenade kills me when I was prone.

The autonomous land drone Goliath that you get to command occasionally is badass though and some of the change ups in gameplay style are neat. One of the levels you take command of an attack chopper and it controls mostly well except they don't bother to mention the controls for raising and lowering the craft's altitude in its tutorial. The last chapter is also suitably epic in scope and a great set piece. As you are fighting with a larger group it gives you more breathing room to advance and take your shots.

Online is shutdown thus the plat is unobtainable so I'm not going to worry about getting the extra hard difficulty trophies or the no dying trophies, especially since most of them are bronze.

It's a new thing for some specific cities. I've been meaning to try it out. Total needs to be at least $35, and the items all have to say same day. I believe you have to order before noon as well.

Hey anyone else need to get some TR MP trophies?

Jimbob and me knocked a few out just now, but 3 quick ones will require a 3rd.

Wont be today, but just those 3 should take like 10-15 mins tops.

Has anyone here played the Prototype ports on PS4. They're on sale again - Cheaper this time!!!

Just wanna know if they're any good. I never played the second.
I played the first for a while this morning. Port runs fine. It's not 60fps but I've not run into any issues with framerate and no bugs or problems in the first couple of hours. Graphics are definitely a bit dated on the texture side but that's not a surprise--it's a port, not a remaster.

It's definitely as difficult as I remember.

That girl in the Type:Rider video is terrible. She probably doesn't even know what Cities: Skylines is.

The game looks simple and something I'd pick up on sale.

Hey, would it be inappropriate for me to ask for their instagram? I mean, we're more than acquaintances now... we're best friends!

Finished the uncharted trilogy and I have to say all three are still great. I found 3 just as good as 2 now that j played them all in a row even though I had been slightly disappointed by 3 when it first came out. The ship and plane segments are really cool.

The beginning of 4 is pretty slow but man is it pretty .

depressing war talk...

I think he came back in '69... he was mostly in the choppers doing rescues. Some of the stuff over there really messed with his head and he hardly talked much about it at all. Every so often if he was drunk enough he might get emotional and talk about a specific memory... once I heard him talk about a friend whose tour was over in a few days getting gunned down in front of him when their camp was attacked... my mom told me about another time he shared when a small boy ran in the camp and blew himself up with a grenade. I'm sure just doing rescue he saw enough to haunt his dreams for the rest of his life.

Shit was fucked up, that's for sure. God bless him... it sucks to think that I never knew who my dad was before 'nam got it's clutches in him. I'm not even sure what type of reception he got when he got home... a lot of soldiers were treated like shit. To be through hell and come home... to your home... just looking for some peace and rest and instead get treated like a monster... no one deserved that... definitely not my dad.

He passed away 7 years ago to pancreatitis... alcohol was as close to comfort as he got. If any of you are having a beer today, drink one for him.

if anyone ended up picking up pure pool and wants to boost some online stuff (or just play normally) shoot me a PM.  either I don't know how to play online or everyone is turning down my requests to play.
