Picked up one of the $25 cards at Best Buy with the 5% off earlier today for $23.75, so $1.25 off and then an extra $5...not bad :D
Quoting myself from 2 hours ago to say I already got my code! Didn't even take two hours haha! Don't know if it helped but I underlined all of the parts that they asked for (name of company/price/item/etc) so that they could spot them more easily. Either way, I was expecting like a week turnaround and it only took 2 hours :D

Glad it worked out for you. Hope that means that they're not going to disqualify submissions for silly things like sales or paying with store credit.

So now that success stories are rolling in, do we have confirmation on whether this is for in-store purchases only?  I'd bite on a few $15 cards if I can just buy them one by one from the comfort of my couch. . .  Thanks!

I got all 3 that I submitted, returned 5 bucks in credit early this morning, and I only submitted one last night so there was like an 8 hour turn around.  I get the feeling the kinks in the system were just worked out if all of a sudden people are getting credit.

Got my two $5 codes in the middle of the night. I bought two $15 cards from Best Buy. I was actually worried about the first one I submitted. I noticed right as I submitted it that "Best Buy" was cut off due to their cropping tool on the web page. Fortunately, it seems they were still OK with it. Now to buy 8 more.

I got mine in the early morning too. I thought we would be getting the codes soon since last night Major Nelson tweeted about the promotion. I figured he got word the promotion was back on track.

I can also confirm that they work with discounts.  They only care about the original value of the card.  Payment method doesnt matter either.

So I bought  a 120.00 worth of cards, two of them on the 27th and one on the 28th and the promotion started the 29th...does date really matter? I submitted mine on day one of the promotion and still haven't heard anything.

Still no emails for me. :boxing:

Is this still going?
Until the end of May or they shut it down.

You mean you bought the Xbox $15 card with SYW points at Kmart? I tried to buy one at Sears with points and their system won't take it.
Yeah I had forgotten about that which is disappointing but there's still a $5 award card I'm supposed to have for next week which should work on it. Then getting another $7 back ($2 in points and another $5 card) seems worth it to me. $20 out of pocket for $30 XBL credit plus $7 additional to spend if everything works out right.

Someone else did that and already got confirmed as well.
The only confirmation I saw of someone getting a discounted receipt qualify for the $5 code was MoCiWe, but that was with a $25 card, so it was still over $15 purchase. Dund3r and shafnitz confirmed getting the $5 codes with BB receipts for $15 cards, but they could have bought them last week when they weren't on sale.

Edit: Also, TheOmegaSoldier stated he got them for ~$13 a piece, so I was curious if that was a misstatement of the BB discount, or if he found a different deal on them (maybe Target redcard and pharmacy coupon or something).

Thought they both said they got $15 cards but I've been wrong before.

I bought a $25 card yesterday from the BB sale. I sent in a copy of my receipt last night and had a email this morning from Microsoft with my extra $5 credit.  Didn't have any issues.

I am noticing a trend though that the people who just did the submission are getting it back super quick while those of us that did it earlier are mostly still waiting...

Edit- Just sent them an email inquiring about it.

I'm actually pretty pissed about it. It seems like so many people are not getting their $5 rebate just as I haven't gotten mine. I'd like to buy some more but unless I know for sure I will be able to receive the offer, I'm holding off which is annoying. Then I "won" a seven day gold membership which I thought I could at least use to extend my current membership. It turns out it's a seven day trial which I wasn't even allowed to use. It didn't say anything about being a trial and gave me no reason for denying me when I entered the code on my Xbox. It just the code didn't work so that wasted more of my time as I entered it a second time and double checked I entered it right. It was only when I tried from the e-mail to use it that it explained why I couldn't use it. So it turns out the prize I won was basically useless for me. Thanks Microsoft for wasting my time.

Wow, that sucks.

They sent me back a form letter saying they'll respond to my inquiry within three days.  On day 9 from having submitted my receipts so I don't expect to hear back from them until May.

I did a live chat about my submissions two days ago and she sent everything to a "special" department that deals with promotions and she said I would here back in 24 hours..its been almost three days and nothing. I think us people that submitted right when the promo started should resubmit?

I wonder if they are related to the people who did the radio shack Netflix promo then. cause people who registered there codes the first 5 days didn't get nothing then the 5th day people who registered the 5th day or the day before got there codes right away while people who registered the 1st 5 days had to wait a additional 2 to 3 days.

I was thinking about that earlier. What's the worst that happens, they reject one?

I actually thought of that at the start and checked but think it was a different company, or at least they're using a different name. It's so hard to tell these days with all these patriarch companies that operate all these basically fake companies under different names in the same field.

yea and I would be cautious about resubmitting a same receipt like someone mentioned earlier cause if it is working but just taking a long time then by resubmitting that could invalidate the receipt all together on there system to prevent fraud.

Well yeah, I wouldn't do that until the end of the promo if they never did anything with it.

You are stating that you got the $5 codes for buying discounted $15 codes ($14.25 from BB?), right?
I can confirm I got $5 codes this morning for the 3 I submitted. I only bought $15 cards. One I used my reward zone $5 discount which counted. Along with the discount yesterday Best Buy had on the cards ($15 cards rang up as $14.25), I still got the $5 rebate. So now I am off to uploading the remaining cards I purchased.

I am quite happy ^^.

EDIT: Also of note, one of the Best Buys around me is a Bermuda Triangle of game purchases, where it seems no one buys there such that a few 360 titles still have their Best Buy exclusive (preorder) DLC emblazoned on the cover (with the code inside, they still work too!). I tried to ring up those 3-pack sets of 800 Microsoft Points (yes MSP, not Microsoft fun bucks) which I use on DLC for my import games and they didn't seem to activate. Was a decent try with the stacks they had laying around (because it doesn't seem anyone buys games there despite this particular Best Buy has a unique staff and promotions for their gaming section, love them for it, and the other 4 Best Buys around do not do the same thing). So I cannot use this Best Buy (nor promotion) towards the DLC for Caladrius T_T. Less happy but still very happy I still got more bang for my buck on the 360.

Went to my local Kmart to find that they still only carry the 1600 point cards and not the new cash cards. Cashier was a younger girl who said she would honor the promotion regardless. The point cards were faulty and wouldn't activate but we eventually found a working one. Gave me a gift card and credited my sywr card the $2. So for 19.99 I get $20 to live, an extra $5 from the Microsoft promotion, and $7 to Kmart.

Thanks again CAG!

I have a question for you all.  I do not currently have a portable digital device that takes pictures (digital camera, smart phone, etc.), but I am wondering if I can still participate in this promotion.  Would taking a picture of the qualifying receipt using my laptop's webcam work okay for this?

Thank you in advance.  :)

I don't see why using your computer's webcam wouldn't work. I'd imagine that if you took it with a polaroid and scanned it so you could e-mail it would be fine. Microsoft might laugh at you if you did but I think it would work. Hell, maybe they would take pity on you for having to resort to a polaroid and send you a little extra M$.

How do you not have anything with a camera on it other than that yet have an Xbox?... Mind boggling.

As long as the picture's clear enough for them to read it should be fine. Hopefully you don't have one of those VGA webcams or something.

Maybe he doesn't give a shit about taking pictures and can't afford a cell phone? Cell phones are still expensive.

So I submitted the max of 10 $15 receipts on the second day of the promo.  I had an e-mail on Tuesday for one, I find it troubling that so far only 10% made it through for me.  I will wait until next Monday to sound the alarm, has anyone else had the same issue with submitting multiple and only getting one or a few codes to make me relax.

I submitted my receipt Tuesday night. When I woke up today I had already been emailed the code. Very impressed. I wish I would've bought more cards from best buy

I didn't have anything to take a picture of it with so I just scanned mine, but I don't see why that wouldn't do. Guess I'll see soon enough.

Here's the answer I got to my inquiry:

"Thank you for your email.  Please try to resubmit both your submissions using a better photo.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

A little weird that they're changing they're name midway through a promotion but that makes me think they're just one of these disposable fronts for another company.
