Having recently acquired a couple of tremendous Arcade1Up machines on sale at a local Walmart. Very tremendous. I thought we needed a dedicated Arcade1Up deals thread to keep track of deals. I know deals people, believe me.
 
These deals are very YMMV but it seems many, many Walmarts are clearing these out right now. Clearing them out. Brickseek links provided where available, check your local stores for price and availability. Brickseek is not 100% accurate though, as I said ... YMMV.

I believe the woodgrain Pac-Man/Ms. Pac-Man are closer to full size than their prior cabinets. IIRC, the table height is now equal to the original cabinets after people complained how short the first wave of cocktail cabinets were.

Are those cocktail sets the same size as legit cocktail tables? I saw it said "full size" in the title. The one thing I hate about A1Up cabs are how tiny they are but a legit full size cocktail table for $100 I'd probably do.

From the A1UP site they're listed as "∙ Assembled Dimensions: (23” D x 36” W x 29” H)"

Seems a pretty good size to me and you can easily add legs to it to raise it up a little higher.

yeah, it looks like they increased the heights of the cabinets from the SF ones.

Nah it's all good. I probably wouldn't have even used it and I don't really have a place to put it.

Listing is back and price is $400 now so yeah clearly a price mistake.

Hope those of you who got an order through get one! That is a hell of a deal!

You might have a pretty good chance. A couple of people on the A1U page who got an order in w/in-store pickup are saying they got the cabinet.

Edit: The Ms. Pac-Man cocktail cabinet is back up marked down $100 to $399. As an aside, I'd be super annoyed if I bought this cabinet not two weeks ago at the "Black Friday" price of $450.

Mine is in limbo, says they are getting it ready. Since it's been quite a while and others have already picked theirs up I assume that means they caught onto it in my case. It's worth a shot though. In the past I've seen cancelled orders result in credit towards future purchases, one time I even had an order cancelled and then they contacted me later and offered to honor the order anyway.

Edit: Rather than make another post, just updating this one. They finally emailed me and said it was ready. No problem getting it. Still a bit surprised since it took 5 hours to be ready for pickup, but pretty damn happy. Thanks to Baltore for posting about this, I would never have seen it otherwise.

I ordered two right when they came up. i think it was like at 10 something. my best buy doesnt open till 11 and i got the text to come pick it up at 1.

 
It looks like it was the same type of mistake that they had with the S8+ a few years ago. Instead of $100 off full price, they put the price in as $100.

I bought one for pickup within 5 minutes of the original slickdeals post. The pickup order was ready literally within 2 minutes. Went and picked it up and now it’s in my basement.

Edit- I meant to post it here afterwards but busy work day. Totally forgot about it until now.

Life’s ultimate decision. I bought a gen 1 Pac-Man and Galaga and wound up completely modding both. I likely won’t mod this one. I also have a real 1983 gutted cocktail cab in my shed I should be working on, so there’s that.

The 40th PacMan showed up yesterday. It was not discretely packaged so the cat's out of the bag. She didn't even wait for me to get the riser together so it wasn't going to make it til xmas. Looks like it will get used.

Box was heavy. Everything was packaged well. I think there was a bit of a ding on one of the side corners where controls sit but I couldn't really tell and this thing is for use, not show, for us. Assembly went well, but I can see where this thing could be a bit intimidating.

I'd say that light up marquee and custom riser is a must have...

I really did not think these things were worth the high MSRP but after assembling one I do see they are nicely built. I can see how it would be easy for someone with some disposable income that grew up playing these things would fill up their basement pretty quick. If they start dropping light gun and racing cabs I am in trouble: Lucky & Wild, Time Crisis, Daytona USA...

No, the base of the cocktail tables is significantly larger than the uprights.
23” D x 36” W on the cocktail vs 23" D x 19" W on the upright.

I noticed Ms. Pac-Man has different games depending on which store you get it from. Anyone know why that is? And are there other cabs like this too?

I also found an 8-in-1 Pac-Man cab on QVC that Aracde1Up doesn't list on their own site.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they don't list the store exclusive models on their site, just the standard ones. You won't find any partycade models on there at all since they're only on QVC & HSN.

I'm still waiting to see if A1U will ever release a stand up cabinet version of Ms. Pac-Man with Galaga included.

Yeah, they've got a great game lineup on those 8-in-1 models. But the partycade is a terrible form factor and the full upright cab has a weird crotch light... plus they're overpriced.

 
Anyone have a good suggestion for a small table for an Arcade1up countercade? I picked up the Pacman one when it went on clearance for my 2 and 4 year old for Christmas, and wanted something we could put it on for them to play.

Those wonderful people at Sam's Club, still the very best club the world has ever seen, have the Legends Gamer Pro on sale today for $149.98. That's a tremendous deal folks, the Pro has only recently been released. Beautiful deal for those who want a cheaper option than the ALU and game on a TV rather than an arcade cab.

I chatted with a Sam's Club rep and got a refund for the difference when I paid 179.99. Worth a chat to get money back

 
I ordered one of the Neo Geo Mini international editions off of Amazon, as a Christmas gift for my nephew. As a full-price collectors item I wouldn't have gone for one of these things. As a $50 gift for introducing a youngster to classic arcade gaming, yeah, this could work.

Maybe down the line. For now, its a gift for someone who has no frame of reference on any of these games anyway. It will probably take him the better part of a year to beat a handful of the titles already on there. No need to bother hacking it for now.

What's the difference between the two versions again? And the International version is the USA version? The second version is Japan?

I was looking at the USA version with the two controllers for $70.

Oh wow, that looks really nice. Bit too rich for my blood at the moment but if the price comes down or if they stay in stock for a while, I’ll probably change my mind on it.


Just put together my MvC cab about an hour and a half ago. Really wish I had changed the gates during assembly but I just wanted to get it finished. Might do it in a few days; can’t pull off dragon punch maneuvers on the square gate to save my life. Assembly was really easy and nice though. My riser has the slightest wobble despite assembling it on hard flooring to try to make sure it was all level. Tightening a screw somewhere must have pulled the wood enough to give it a wobble. I’ll put a tiny pad under one of the feet and have it doing alright if I move the cab to hard flooring but it isn’t noticeable now since it’s on carpet. I love the light up deck protector though.

International is USA and the rest of the the world version. Japan is Asian version. The difference is the bottom of Japanese system is red, and some of the game selection is different (Japan version mainly has more fighting games).
 
My local Walmart has multiple TMNT stools on the shelf for $79.99 each. There’s no way I’m going to pay that much for them, but I’ve been checking them usually weekly, waiting for a sale or for them to be clearanced out! 🤞
 
I'm planning on modding my Final Fight cab. I was considering using Raspberry Pi to run it. Are there better alternatives? I'd like to play MAME games on it.

Check out dyiretroarcade.com. The site owner is incredibly helpful and has a great Pandora's Box kit that I used for my mod. I also bought some custom decks for my mods from them. Their products are top notch and look stock on my machines.

I used Pandora's Box becuase I wanted a more turn-key solution. I think I have about 2500 games in total when I finished adding everything that I wanted. And Pandora's Box has a great modding community over on Discord.

I second diyretroarcade. Awesome site and awesome guy. I’ve placed 3 ordered from them, 2 of which had custom designed arcade1up control panels. Great stuff.

Rasp pi is the way to go if you can tinker with one. Tons of tutorials out there, but it’s a bit of work and not for everybody.

I currently have 3 arcade cabinets- a pacman converted to a pi build, a Galaga completely rebuilt and now running a pc running launchbox, and an old bartop I built years ago running an older pi.
